I no longer buy that liberalism, progressivism or any of the leftist nonsense was ever idealistc or utopian. It’s just the snake oil they peddle to get people to forfeit their liberty and property. Stalin and Lenin never intended to bring peace and prosperity to their citizens, nor did Marx or Mugabee, or Castro or our own dear leader.
It’s the fairy tale they recite ad nauseum. It’s the sheepskin they wear to calm those they wish to subjugate. We conservatives really need to stop romanticizing the left as though their rhetoric is sincere.
It is not. It never was and never will be. As long as conservatives continue to believe them rather than their own observations, we will lose. Being unwilling to call a liar a liar gives the liar license to lie and complete credibility.

The reality is very simple: “Liberalism doesn’t work, never ha, and never will!
The substitution of state for church, of politician for priest, of government for God, these are the sources of human evil. Hubris is the human effort to become god. It is, in reality, the human as demon. Atheism is demonic. Government without subjugation to God is demonic. Only in the presence of God is the balance of man in nature achieved.
Man without God believes he controls the environment. So he requires all manner of environmental tinkering every aspect of which leads to greater imbalance.
Man without God believes he is the source of compassion. So he requires acts of sacrifice that end in the slaughter of innocents, the greatest holocaust in the history of the world.
Man without obedience to God is the source of all evil.
That was depressing.
Those believers are also too passionate to realize that it isn't other people who are killing their utopias; other people who are, while the believers have the ability to do so, punished severely for not fitting into the Procrustean bed of the fantasy. Perfect socialism required the New Soviet Man, who did not exist and could not be created. And yes, they'll try again.
We simply must refuse to allow libtards to continue their nefarious and dangerous practice of hijacking and twisting our language, the most pernicious example of which is their application of the term “progressive” to themselves.
Here’s a question for those of you who somehow escaped the government school indoctrination process with your critical thinking skills intact: When these people say “progressive”, to where or to what do they propose to progress?
Among America’s founding documents is the Declaration of Independence. Because many of you younger readers may not have been exposed to the Declaration in school (or, worse, were exposed to an altered or redacted version of that document), allow me to remind you of THE key principles upon which the Founders established this nation:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Read those words until you fully grasp their meaning.
Let me again ask the question: To where or to what do those who call themselves “progressives” propose to progress? How IS IT POSSIBLE to “progress” beyond those beautifully stated and, at that time as today, seldom articulated truths?
Back when a “journalist” respected truth and honesty, the Baltimore journalist Henry Louis Mencken declared “The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule.”
And, that, my friends is another truth of which we all must be mindful as these so-called “progressives”, by their tendentious torturing and twisting of the language, seek to move us AWAY from our founding principles. Their agenda seeks to take us BACK to some form of the same dictatorial RULE under which nearly all men who walked the earth before those American ideals were set to parchment lived as SLAVES!
If these people wish to wear a label, let it be an honest one. Although I can think a any number of things to call these cretins, my most polite suggestion would be “REGRESSIVES”.

But liberals refuse to believe this. They want to believe people are defeated by abstract, unprovable things like institutional racism, white privilege, wealthy greedheads, the "system," etc. That's why they're leftists. Their theories will always fail, and they'll always be miserable. But one thing you've got to hand them, they never give up.
Leftism is not a high ideal, it is tyranny. Tyranny and oppression is what leftists dream about at night, it is what they put on their Christmas list every year.
It took a world war to stamp out NAZISM and Japanese Imperialism. We did not do that by killing all the Germans or Japanese, we did that by destroying the idea of naziism and Japanese Imperialism. These ideas were discredited.
This is what we never did to socialism or Islam and this is what we will have to do to them eventually.

I worked with Soviets in the mid 80’s. Their altruistic sinless system brought about the existence of “knock-knocks,” the name given to people who would spy on/report other people in order to get little perks or protection for themselves. Then of course, 10% of the population of the USSR were members of the Communist Party and therefore received privileged access to stores and goods not available to the other 90% who were the servants of communism, but not invited to join the Communist Party.
