Immigration to Indignation: The Republican Ghost Ship
Me | 1/31/14 | Self

Undaunted by the ominous tale of the scorpion and the frog, GOP leadership is embracing immigration reform under the auspices it will eliminate a divisive issue and thus improve their election chances in 2014 and 2016. The only problem is; one, such a foolish move continues to negate any tangible differences between Republicans and Democr...ats, and two, you’re trusting in that which is incessantly trying to destroy your very existence and the Constitution you swore to protect. Furthermore, it will only alienate those conservatives, the bastion of your party’s once proud heritage, who are fed up with the GOP’s obvious lack of conviction over the past 6 years.

If Speaker Boehner and Senator Paul Ryan are naive enough to believe a sizeable group of Latino's will magically embrace their party for capitulating on nearly every Democratic whim, they are in for one hell of a shock. Why? Once progressives get want they want, they will immediately return to their shameless ways in which they lie, cajole, and inflame, with the help of the lapdog media of course, by renewing their tried-and true “war against women”, “war against minorities”, and “war against the poor” campaigns. There is no “good will” or “in good faith” when dealing with leftist thugs; for, in their eyes, the end justifies the means in their insatiable quest to brainwash and bribe yet another demographic of the electorate. Yes, why would you even attempt to appease such a disgraceful and misguided group of human beings? Would you barter your flesh and blood for a bag of gold? Not only have our Republican leaders failed to constrain Obama's runaway spending, they have egregiously failed to hold him accountable for a litany of abuses and failures that threaten our liberties and livelihoods on a daily basis. And now they want to serve as a doormat, the final lynchpin to the fulfillment of the progressive agenda? In no unequivocal terms, there is no greater betrayal!

Not to defend our borders, our sovereignty, and enforce our laws is a slap in the face to every victim and family broken by 9/11; not to mention a clear dereliction of duty. Why is it again Mexico has tougher immigration laws than racist America? No, we’re not racist and we don’t hate immigrants, we simply realize that millions of illegal aliens are bankrupting entire cities, overcrowding schools, and crippling hospitals while liberals have the audacity to waste billions in taxpayer dollars by prizing the welfare of trespassers over the rights of actual, law-abiding citizens. If a man or woman seeks the freedom and opportunity of our shores, then respect America, her people, and take the necessary steps to complete the naturalization process; all are welcome! Otherwise, you have absolutely no right to protest or claim injustice. In no other civilized country would such nonsense even be recognized. If I’m required to show ID to merely fish or board a plane, attend the Democratic National Convention, then a non-citizen damn well better have the paperwork to prove they deserve the privilege and honor of residing in a country so many sacrificed for and died to protect. Don’t blame us because your homeland failed to provide a quality of life you so desperately covet. Blame yourself for not demanding more of your own people.

For the sake and viability of the GOP as a political party, or more succinctly the survival of a free, moral and prosperous country, I have this simple declaration: If we do not possess a set of indelible principles that honor the ideals this nation was founded upon, those that clearly set us apart from progressive Democrats, then we are nothing more than a party of beggars, mercenaries, and whores. For the sake of posterity, this nation was founded by nothing of the sorts! Therefore, the problem isn’t a question of adapting to new societal norms, let alone any singular issue. The answer, on the other hand, is found by embodying a set of proven values that welcomes the most ardent debate and exposes the subversive agendas of the most unscrupulous parties and politicians. Just because Republicans have failed to properly articulate and convey the timeless constructs of a vibrant society – faith, liberty, limited government, hard work, accountability, duty – doesn’t mean conservatives need to systematically abandon their most precious beliefs in lieu of a bankrupt, political ideology: otherwise known as progressivism. It simply means we need better leaders. Truth, when framed by conviction and competence, appeals to people from all walks of life no matter what the era. Et tu, Boehner? Even Shakespeare can smell a rat!

If they’d quit listening to the big money PACs, Steve Schmidt, and Karl Rove, they’d have known BEFORE this pow-wow that WE DON’T WANT immigration reform! PERIOD! After we secure the border, we can look at what needs to be done next. Probably will need to do something for the kids born here. But just as important is this: unless a person has already done the preliminary paperwork for immigration to the US, no babies born here should be citizens. Only those born to at least one biological parent who is already a citizen. Not all nations confer citizenship when a child is born in that country. We don’t need to automatically, either.
