I don't believe Obama can win the support of the EU for economic sanctions, enshrining himself as the most incompetent man to ever hold the job.
To announce this effort which is sure to fail is no less than folly.
Europe gets too much of it's energy from Russia and Russia buys too much of their stuff for them to consider serious, biting sanctions.
It's still a bit nippy across much of Europe and loss of 1/2 their energy would hurt.

Where’s Charlie Wilson and Gust Avrakotos when you really need them?
Oh, yeah. Obama has already dismantled the CIA and turned the NSA and remaining intelligence agencies from foreign espionage and intelligence to domesitic espionage and intelligence against our own citizens.

The USA will have to step up and provide all the energy needs necessary to Europe in order to offset any cuts Russia will make as punishment for the EU not giving in to them. We are the top energy producer in the world now. It can be done. Let the Reds eat their oil and gas.

It's still a bit nippy across much of Europe and loss of 1/2 their energy would hurt. I suppose our having a huge exportable energy surplus would have strengthened our bargaining position.
It's a pity Keystone never got approved, eh?

The Obama administration is working around the clock to come up with ways to punish Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine. What ??? Send Vladimir to bed with no tuck-in, no Ovaltine, and no reading of Goodnight Moon ???

Financial attacks?
Obama’s gonna tax the Russians.
If they don’t stop doing what they are doing, then he is going to impose Obamacare and make them use Healthecare.gov to sign up for it.
That’ll show ‘em.

What are "financial attacks" against businessmen? He's going to steal money from Russian businessmen who aren't even involved in this dispute?
He either has more guts than I gave him credit for, or he has some sort of death wish.

Maybe if obama wants to punish Putin, he can sens over a bunch of DVD’s of his speeches. Make sure they are in the wrong format too.

...while also preparing a multi-billion dollar economic aid package for the new leaders in Kiev. Where are these multi-billions coming from? Greece has just demanded an additional $20 billion in aid, most other EU economies are suffering - how will multi-billions in aid for Ukraine go over politically among the economically-strapped EU countries?
As for the US, where will we get the money? More drastic cuts in the defense budget? Large increases in the debt limit?

Obama is far from being a/the competitor that Putin is. Obama is no Reagan by a long shot. The USA needs another Reagan.

"...these financial attacks: everyone from high-ranking Russian military officials to government leaders to top businessmen to Russian-speaking separatists in Ukraine. Its all part of the work to prepare an executive order now under consideration at the Obama administrations highest levels."

I feel like I just took a crazy pill.
He's going to target high-ranking Russian military and government and business officials?
What's he going to do next? Target them for a tax audit?
This is B. Hussein Obama's M.O. He targets US military, government and business officials, so he won't have any guilt pangs doing the same to Russians.
Is this his idea of "flexibility?"
And, then there's those two words - "executive orders".............
