"And illness will be more fatal and more common than being shot."

Thanks, Doc. So true after initial, widespread disasters of all kinds. Good sanitation and other safety practices are of the utmost importance. I haven't done any kind of medical work but have been through some experiences and other training.

There is a high likelihood that other homes/abodes will be attacked before your place, which should be a good heads-up that trouble is on your doorstep, and a great to make friends!!

BOB, not for me. Shelter in place, I will, I will. All my stuff is here, why would I leave it? Oh, he must be talking to city folk.

If I need fresh meat, I step outside my door. If I want fresh water, I step outside my door. If I need firewood, I step outside my door. If I need to protect myself, I shoot them as they step inside my door.

I used to live in a city. I’m glad I no longer do.

But, if you have prepped right, you have medical supplies. I’m a nurse, on one of my prepper neighbors is a surgeon.

In our group we also have a mechanic/machinist, a former Nam-era Green Beret, a two former 101st airborne soldiers. We also have a farmer, an chicken raising outfit, and several lifelong hunters.

Additionally, I’m a ham radio operator and fireworks buff. I can make blackpowder and flash powder, essential ingredients in making field expedient explosives. I also am a lifelong reloader, with enough ammo and ammo-making supplies to fight a war. ;-) In our network, we figure we can arm and supply 50 people for 2 years.

anyone with entitlement mentality is a threat. anyone with more, to them, is ‘rich’ and unfair you have what they feel they should have too. what you should give them, or they feel justified taking from you.

this includes teachers and other union workers, govt workers.

i thnk one underestimates police and military folks being potential threats. selco’s articles discuss in shtf ex-police and military leading/forming gangs and being formidable problems. obviously it depend on personal character b/c mnany would be trying to help groups preserve order/help people defend themselves against gangs,m etc, but if they were immoral folks and desperate they’d be a problem.

In every one of these “I got your back” neighborhood and friends groups, there will be one or more who will rat you out in a minute.

Are you ready to shoot a 12 year old girl that comes to your door begging for food? A dirty pregnant girl with a 5 year old in tow asking for shelter? Are you sure she is not a spy for a Zombie attack? Not sure I am.

I have a friend who was a young boy when the Soviets rolled into his home country, Poland.

He says everyone quickly learned you must be EXACTLY like everyone else. No better in any way. No worse in any way. Don’t excel at anything. Don’t fall behind in anything. Dress and look like everyone. Talk the party line. Smile just a little when you encounter party members.

The girl he ended up marrying was in an overtly Christian family. There were KFB agents on their porch 24 X 7. They had a small garden for their own food but were forbidden to have financial interactions with anyone. Reminds me of the book of Daniel.

My dear EX had a cousin visit from Lithuania, a commie thug. She was cute enough but I got drunk and said some ignorant things for which I am not sorry about.

A mind numbed robot, kind of like a DemonRat.

and for some, some family folks who’d do the same, whether they think they’re doing what’s best for you or if they really don’t like you.

In my case I recommend (with plenty of caution) always having the mixin's for mustard gas on hand.

Never thought of that. Throw in a "potato" cannon to disperse the stuff.

I signed up a long time ago for Selco’s articles to be sent to me just like I’m sure millions have done. The last article sent, “Why many preppers will die” had an added portion that read: “But before you click on link it would be great if you have a minute and write back to me what kind of other preparedness or survival related websites do you read?”

I sent an email listing Survival Podcast where I write articles, and included Free Republic saying we had a prepper thread every week lead by Kartographer. That is all I put in that email – just those two links.

So, this morning I got an email from Selco. Here it is:

“its funny I read your articles before. Really like them.
What do you like about survival podcast community? We add community forum to SHTFschool.com and look for feedback on what sections we should have.
Thank you,
Selco”

I don’t know how or when he found my articles as they are buried among numerous categories on Survival Podcast, but when one gets approval from Selco, in my opinion that is the highest honor a prepper could get. “Approved by Selco” – I am so proud. :o)

And illness will be more fatal and more common than being shot.

A fairly bad cut with NO antibiotics would be a bad deal.

Is it possible to make your own Penicillin?
