Well, Sal Russo and the Tea Party Express have been paid off. They’re dead to me now.
There’s nothing to overhaul. Enforce existing laws and militarize the Southern border.

I’ve long been wary of most of the so-called tea party groups, but the “Tea Party Express,” under Amy Kremer, was one I actually had a bit of confidence in. No more. From here on out, the letters from them go right into the garbage can, unopened.
That’s why I’ve deliberately avoided joining any official groups.

The modern “Tea Party” was actually started by pro-amnesty groups — whether you credit Ron Paul’s or Koch bros’ groups. Social conservatism was not the priority.
Since Obummer/Holder won’t do that what is your next proposal which can actually work?
Is Obummer doing something illegal? If yes, GOP needs to bring articles of impeachment. If it is Obummer’s prerogative to enforce laws, then it is not illegal and then it follows current immigration laws are in-operative.
The TEA Party was not started by libertarians, they simply tried to hijack it
Wrong! Tea Party’s foremost objective is a smaller government and reducing spending and paying off national debt. Nothing to do directly with immigration laws or abortion laws.
Apparently Illegal Amnesty is the big deal, the one that breaks America. That's why the mole came out now.

I don’t think I’ve actually “joined” any TP group but have made some donations over the past few years and have done some volunteer work/help. I think I’ll limit my donations to “True The Vote” for the time being.
It’s clearly all about the “Benjamins” for him.
I went to a ragtag, impromptu “tea party” gathering, funded by no one, in my community one Saturday morning, at the VERY beginning of the movement. The very, very beginning. It was here in Texas, and a very MAJOR part of the whole thing was against amnesty and strengthening the borders.
Admittedly, there are a lot of regional differences between these kind of homegrown tea-party groups. Some in the South had a strong social-conservative undercurrent, and some in the West were more libertarian. It makes these discussions about people and their local tea-party histories and their emphases vary a lot. Shades of “Rashomon” every time it’s brought up.
My tea party “group” is local people that I know. We have unofficial meetings at a local diner and chat about political issues over coffee and pancakes.

The Tea Party Express got behind Sharron Angle. Harry Reid was a goner until they got involved.
I didn’t care for the republican in Delaware but he was going to win. He was a RINO but that is the very best you’re going to do in that state. They gave us Christine O’Donnell.
They threw money down in Alaska too and came up short. Although I will say they had a better candidate there.
I am not impressed with their vetting process.
