Back at ya. I loves me some FReepers.
That sounds so much more fun than MY day. Busdaddy woke me around 0500 and said it was time to go for a walk. When he was in the army, we only walked/jogged half an hour. This morning, even with all the moisture in the air, we walked uphill for a mile, which took 35 minutes, but only 25 on the way home. He kept going for another 10 minutes, but I was done, as I didn’t have a breathing treatment before I left.
I got a blister on my toe, probably from my sock seam. And the heat and humidity have increased, so a storm can’t be far behind.
I changed my Netflix subscription to DVDs again, as I just don’t think to go through all the steps it takes to get the right beeber doing the right thing with the right electronic item. It’s overcast, too, and if I weren’t in the middle of watching a western with Robert Duval, I’d go to bed.
It’s a VERY quiet 4th of July in Hooterville Junction. I will be dead to the world when the fireworks start. Some folks drag chairs to the sidewalk by the street and watch them in the valley, but that’s too much like work! LOL!
Your day sounds like it was so very much fun! Will any of the younger children hang out for fireworks? How is Bill’s infection? Did he take all his meds for it? I hope. When will Tom be home? And Elin?
I was thinking earlier how much fun the 4th of July was when I was a kid. The smaller cities pulled out all the stops and joined our town for a HUGH parade and all kinds of fun.
And we are in the middle of a monstrous downpour! I still have tubs and crates against the fence, but it looks like I will have to move them farther away from it so they are under the roof.

Bill is fully recovered from his infection. We haven’t heard from Tom; he’ll be home tomorrow. Since we didn’t get a call, he was working all week and not in the hospital! Elen called and said they were evacuated, but everything is fine. I guess tomorrow they’ll have to work like made to get the camp in decent shape for more campers arriving on Sunday.
DP got some fireworks at Walmart to shoot off later. Nothing major like you’d get at the big outlets in South Carolina, just a “variety pack.” There aren’t any big fireworks shows nearby. Monroe, I guess. There are usually a lot in the neighborhood, though. I told the boys they could walk around and see what happens, as long as they stay on the sidewalk.
Wow, you’ve been busy!
If all the children are exhausted, we can get to bed at a reasonable hour, in spite of fireworks. We’ll have to start “1776!” early. Sometimes I give out before the end.
Has Sally left?
I’m glad to hear that Elen is OK, and that Bill is over his infection. I always figure when I don’t hear from my kids, everything is fine.
Welp, I’m about at the end of the trail, she says, after watching a western movie...
I’ll see you all tomorrow!
No, about another ten days.
Good. This would be a tough time to fly.
Definitely.
Thanks TC. Daughter says we shouldn’t get more than 3 or 4 as this is her first litter. I was watching youtube on Welping today, and when I described it to hubby he turned green. I guess he won’t be helping on the Birth-day.
Happy 238th, you young thang!
Seems a little icky to me, too. One of the good things about being the one having the baby is I didn’t have to see it.
Good luck to all of you!
What a lovely day you all had. That’s the America I know and love.
Your mention of the two WWII vets makes me tear up. I so dread the day when the news announces the last one has left us.
Wish we had a town website, but we’re too tiny, LOL.
I would hope so, were they much in demand? :p
that would take some thought
