Obama Administration A Mess After ISIS War Declaration

There’s not much about the Obama administration that earns the confidence of the American public anymore. Obamacare has destroyed what was left of the good will the general public had for Obama. Discovering that you could not keep your doctor and that your insurance rates and deductibles would increase substantially created an environment wherein the President’s word was no longer trustworthy. Obama’s polls are largely in the lower 40’s as a result. These days the President is beating the war drum against ISIS and while the public wants to go after the terrorists they don’t completely trust this administration to do the right thing.

The lack of confidence begins with Obama of course. However it was Secretary of State John Kerry who delivered the first blow to the President’s war plans. After the President’s war speech on Wednesday, Kerry came out the next day and declared there wasn’t a war against ISIS. By Sunday, Kerry had flip flopped. In flip flopping, Kerry declared the entire ordeal to be a “tortured debate.” He barely acknowledged there was a war. If bombing sites in Syria and Iraq is not war, what exactly is it? How confident should the public be in an administration that can’t decide whether they’re at war with ISIS or not? No doubt, Kerry fashions his position as “nuanced.” In reality, not calling this a war is idiotic.

President Obama must believe this is a war because he’s relying on the Bush era Authorization for use of Military Force passed by Congress in 2001. As recently as last year Obama wanted Congress to repeal the authorization, declaring it dangerous. Funny how things work out, now that he wants to go to war he’s relying on Bush’s war resolution to get what he wants. One wonders where all the anti-war protesters are now. When Bush went to war there were protests in the streets, with Obama in power the anti-war left is cheering him on or at least remaining silent. Nevertheless, the President is relying on a war resolution passed by Congress while his Secretary of State is saying this isn’t really a war even if it might be in a round about way. Tortured indeed.

Did you know the President met with select members of the media prior to his speech last week? No doubt these hand picked leftists told him what to say. One interesting tidbit to come out is the following from the NY Times:

If he had been “an adviser to ISIS,” Mr. Obama added, he would not have killed the hostages but released them and pinned notes on their chests saying, “Stay out of here; this is none of your business.” Such a move, he speculated, might have undercut support for military intervention.

Here we have the President of the United States pretending to be an adviser to terrorists. His advice is about what you would expect a seven or eight year old to say. No doubt the President, having been accosted by a former hostage with a note pinned to his chest would have realized the United States needs to stay away and that it’s none of our business. In the world of young elementary school kids, it makes perfect sense. In the real world, of which Obama is presumably part, such a statement pinned the chest of a former hostage would have been laughed at and ignored.

The President’s advice for terrorists is terrible, it makes one wonder about the direction he’s leading the country. The President came into this war with sagging poll numbers and limited trust from the public. His Secretary of State can’t decide if this is a war or not, the President himself is relying on a war resolution he’s attacked for nearly a decade and his advice to ISIS is asinine. Let’s face facts, Obama’s heart isn’t in this war. If his heart isn’t in this war, he ought to have the guts to argue why we shouldn’t get involved. Instead, he’s entering the war in a half-hearted manner and it shows via his actions and the actions of his administration. The chances for success are rather limited when the Commander in Chief isn’t really in favor of the operation.

Not me. I don't wonder. I think I know. Obama's goal is the same as the ISIS goal: A Sunni dominated Caliphate. Anything that he does to counter this involves kicking and screaming. It is never willingly done. Most of his actions have supported the goal of reestablishing the Caliphate. And we are seeing that happen in real time.

One a Sunni, always a Sunni.

It has baffled me that America has routinely ignored nations and groups that have “declared war” on America

and not simply squashed them shortly after said declaration.

Maybe they took the scenario of “The Mouse that Roared” too seriously?

**************

Despite terrible poll numbers and a complete lack of confidence, he will always have the liberal media on his side. They will never abandon the guy they helped to put in office.

While the media propaganda machine may fool many gullible Americans they don't fool leaders abroad. They see him for the weak and deceitful POS that he is.

Barry, you have squandered your capacity as president to do anything that resembles presidential leadership.

Good luck to finding some sort of coalition, especially after you effed up any chance for any former friend of this country to stand with ya.

Where are your muzzy friends now that the winds of change are blowing in an ugly direction?

Discovering that you could not keep your doctor and that your insurance rates and deductibles would increase substantially created an environment wherein the President’s word was no longer trustworthy.

The author is a slow learner. Sensible people knew the former junior US Senator from Illinois could not be trusted even before he took power in our White House. All but low information voters figured that out within the first terrible year of Obama's rule. The trickle of journalists and commentators suddenly "discovering" that Obama is malignant and untrustworthy look more like they are trying to reestablish their credibility before acting as shills for their next created candidate than like honest people detecting a hidden fact.

You need to re-read what I wrote. I’m not saying that my personal opinion of Obama was affected by his keep your doctor comments. I’ve been attacking Obamacare from day 1. I was talking about the general public, who for whatever reason either believed Obama or wanted to believe him even though they knew better. Obama’s poll numbers have never recovered from the Obamacare roll out, which suggests that at least some people were surprised by what Obamacare actually is.

On both the immigration and war fronts, Obama is clearly acting reluctantly. Who demanded action?

We still have no explanation for the abrupt interruption of his Martha’s Vineyard vacation. Did he fly to Washington at the behest of those who hold the puppet strings? He’s literally destroying the Democratic Party, did some of the party leaders participate in this meeting? Was he given an ultimatum at that time?

His actions and demeanor since that Washington visit seem to indicate something like that happened.

If that’s true, it’s just a matter of time before he’s told he must contract a mysterious illness that won’t permit him to serve out his term.

And for this reason alone every American should stand against our entry into this war.

Really funny exchange...

(nice article - and BTW - IMO, general public is sadly almost a perfect proxy for low information voter)
