Last week, despite America's long history of religious maniacs killing people in the name of the Lord, rightbloggers suddenly got worried about it because this time the alleged maniac in question, Alton Nolen aka Jah'Keem Yisrael, is a Muslim. This they took to mean that ISIS-style executions were swiftly becoming a fad stateside, and had to be strongly countered by increased fearfulness.
Alton Nolen got canned from his factory job in Moore, Oklahoma and, as the old saying goes, went postal. But in a novel twist, he did not just stab some coworkers, he also beheaded one before his former boss Mark Vaughan shot him.
Later it turned out Nolen had tried to convert co-workers to Islam, had the words "Jesus Christ" and "As-salaamu Ataikum" tattooed on his body, and in his spare time enthused over sharia law. (He'd also done time in prison for large-scale coke possession before converting, in case you thought Islam was his only pedigree.)
(The gun angle was popular among the brethren. "It takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a Koran," applauded Daniel Greenfield at FrontPageMan under the headline "Oklahoma Beheading Reminds Us ISIS is Everywhere Muslims Are.")
"Joe Scarborough doesn't buy claim Oklahoma beheader not influenced by ISIS videos," Twitchy informed us. Well, what more do you need? It would have been nice to hear from Glenn Beck too, but he was apparently busy lecturing on Hitler and Alinsky at the Values Voters conference.
The way they talk about this threat -- headchoppers in every woodpile! -- we don't see how these guys can even get out of bed in the morning. Unless they don't actually believe any of this nonsense and are just hoping to frighten voters enough to regain the terror benefit Republicans used to regularly receive in the early days of the War on Whatchamacallit.

Certainly what the author doesn’t know is the term “going postal”... started after a postal employee killed a number of co-workers. That happened in Edmond, Oklahoma. About 30 miles from where the beheader did his deal.

Liberals live in a constant state of denial of reality.... coupled with visions of grandeur. The day after the beheader did his deal here in OKC.... some guy working in a nursing home here in OKC threatened to cut off an old lady’s head.... and said he was representing ISIS. He’s in jail here in OKC for threatening terrorism. I bet he doesn’t get out anytime soon.

The only connection Alten Nolen may have to ISIS would be that like many of us, he had seen the film clips of the beheadings. Instead of being disgusted as any normal person would—he decided to incorporate it into his going postal—thus, in his mind, propping up his so-called Muslim identity. As MNDude says in his post—Nolen did a stint in prison for dealing coke—and that is where he found Prislam- —when dudes in jail (mainly black)convert to Muslim so their backsides don’t get beaten up by either the guards or other inmates. Here in NYC I have done a lot of work on soup kitchens and these guys who have been in jail always want to know if there is pork in the food. My thought is—you smoke like a chimney, drink like a fish, and “do it” more than a rabbit—what is this garbage that you’re worried if there is pork in the food. This maniac in OK wouldn’t know ISIS if they tickled his family jewels.

Quite the strawman. Pointing out that the gun control proposals from the left wouldn't have done diddly to stop Sandy Hook is hardly arguing that we shouldn't get hysterical. We definitely need to do more to deal with mental illness proactively - which the left legislated away decades ago.
However, the morons on the left want to treat this incident and the Fort Hood shootings as workplace violence. Talk about projection - they are the ones saying don't get worked up about it all.

Never mind the fact that McVeigh never spoke of any religious motivation, or that he was surrounded by Iraqis, or that his bomb maker traveled to Cebu and learned bomb making from Ramzi Yousef...
