Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins personally escorted the family of Ebola carrier Thomas Duncan to a 4 bedroom spacious home in a gated community Friday. Its where they will live, miles away from their cramped apartment in Dallas while under quarantine.
Im wearing the same shirt I was when I was in the car for 45 minutes today with that family, said Jenkins about the car ride. If there was any risk, I wouldnt expose myself or my family, he said during Fridays press conference where city and county leaders called the move necessary.
Where they were living was a terrible place. And we are more decent than that, said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings....

In the Ebola case in Dallas, authorities at the state, county and city levels are working with the CDC.
Specifically, it’s Dallas County that’s in charge, said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, also director of the county’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
The county has “set up an Incident Management Center and is acting as the lead agency for the Ebola investigation and containment,” said the county judge, who is vested with broad judicial and administrative powers under the Texas Constitution.
Who Is Clay Jenkins?
We do know this corrupt administration is keeping Bergdahl, the deserter
under wraps too.
Yep. That house’s value just took a big hit.
Mayor is "stupid". This is exactly how this thing spreads.
Is he up for re-election?
I think they should all be put on a chartered plane back to Liberia.
Im sure the gated community is fuming.
bump
They were eventually FORCEFULLY quarantined since they were not cooperating.
I know of a better gated community where she wouldn't be violating the HOAs.
Wondering since Patient Zero, Duncan, is on life support, if they are perhaps in a containment facility that is “gated”? Social media rumors are that two of the children are showing symptoms. We never know with those that are Politicians First?
At least in a single family dwelling in a gated neighborhood they won’t be close to other people and they won’t be leaving the place while under quarantine.
And the aftermath will be great for the lawyers, too-I’ll bet the people in the neighborhood file a class action suit for damages after all is said and done-that should teach the judge’s happy ass to not interfere again...
Generally issues effecting public health are dealt with by the public health department.
Ya know for the public health. Long ago people decided that other people with dangerous communicable diseases needed some level of control to keep others safe.
I hope they are being told to stay inside that house and not wander the grounds of the gated community. Can you imagine how the residents of that enclave must feel?
Who donates a house to people with a ragin’ contagion? An extremely wealthy individual who really hates his former neighbors?
At least they can play with the neighborhood kids until the vomit and diarrhea become problematic.
I’ll bet the gated community is thrilled to have them. Not!!!!
Maybe the guy can’t sell it, and now he can burn it down next month in an insurance claim quoting quarantine / disease control.
That very well may be a concern of the person who owns the house, and I imagine those who own the house understand that those who are not expressing symptoms of Ebola cannot transmit Ebola.
Now that you have expressed your opinion that you think their should be a prohibition on home owners being able to decide who can live on their private property, are there any groups of people who have broken no laws, that you would like your Federal or State to dictate to me who I cannot have living in a house that I own?
Clay Jenkins is like the character in a hollywood disaster film who exists only to die after claiming that a disaster is under control, only to show the audience that it’s not.
This time, the whole world is the audience.
