Michael Brown Is Not A Civil Rights Hero

Last weekend several thousand protesters descended upon St. Louis to protest alleged police brutality and “institutional racism” within police departments. Interestingly many of the protesters were from outside of St. Louis, including a number of east coast college students. They want to be apart of “change” which of course means they want to impose their views on everyone else. Protesters even had the opportunity to play with toy animals in a sandbox under the watchful eyes of a graduate student from the University of Missouri. Clearly they’re sticking it to the man.

One of the protesters was quoted as saying he didn’t want to be the next black man shot by the police. One can understand such a sentiment, regardless of race no one wants to be the next person shot by the police. Let’s look though at the people the black community has rallied around over the last couple of years. While Trayvon Martin wasn’t shot by the police, he was shot and killed after he got into a fight with an armed George Zimmerman. He was hardly innocent. Michael Brown was shot by the police after he charged them, he even broke the orbital bone of a police officer. All of this after he robbed a convenience store and strong armed an old man. Just a week ago St. Louis police shot and killed a black man who fired a gun twice at them. In other words, we’re not talking about innocent people who are minding their own business on the street.

Yet these are the people radical leftists are rallying blacks around. There isn’t a conspiracy among police officers to shoot black men. They aren’t driving around black neighborhoods and picking black men to fire at. Only after being violently engaged have the police fired their weapons. These aren’t innocent flowers that are being shot at by the police, they’re violent men who have committed crimes. Yet leftists want the black community to rally around them. You have to wonder how criminal thugs have become the cause for blacks to rally around. Surely there must be more pressing matters for the black community, such as the massive unemployment rate blacks suffer with. In fact, young black men have the highest unemployment rate by far in America. Perhaps that’s why they’re looking to crime. Instead of addressing real problems, part of which are created by government, leftists want to blame the police for protecting themselves.

If the leftists and the black community really cared about young black men they would focus their efforts on the appalling murder rate in the black community. Over 90% of blacks who are murdered are killed by other black people. The problem isn’t the police, it’s depravity within the young black community. Since Michael Brown was killed by the police, there have been dozens of black on black shootings in the St. Louis metro area resulting in many deaths. If you’re a young black man, you’re far more likely to be killed by another black man than you are to be killed by a police officer, white or otherwise. Make no mistake, the protesters know these facts. They’re after progressive “change” and thus they’re willing to ignore the facts. When ignoring the truth gets to be to much for them, they can play with toys in a sandbox with the academic giants of Missouri.

Defending criminals will not serve the black community well in the long run. Placing these people on a pedestal and pretending that they’re victims only sends the message that criminal thuggery is desirable. Michael Brown is not Rosa Parks, he wasn’t fighting a civil rights battle. He was stealing cigars, strong arming an old man and attacking the police with physical force. He isn’t a victim, he’s a criminal. The message is clear to young black men though, it’s okay to be a criminal and it’s the fault of the police if anything should happen to you. Just 50 years ago the black community had strong families with husbands and fathers raising their kids. If there was ever an example of the destruction of the family, of the disaster of a fatherless home it is the black community in America today. If the black home had not been destroyed over the last half century, people wouldn’t be protesting the shooting of criminals. Instead Michael Brown has turned into a civil rights hero, just like Trayvon Martin.

When Ferguson Meets Ebola

For understanding why our official medicos and politicos are mishandling the Ebola threat so badly, read The Plague by Camus again, and reflect that it was based on ancient human impulses that never change. Look at the 1918-19 flu for some other lessons. Millions died. Very big mistakes were made and important lessons learned, most of them forgotten. The “good news” in this mess is that the cities that get hit first and worst by Ebola will provide lessons for the rest of us. I think we will learn the hard way to segregate standard hospitals from fever/Ebola treatment centers. Admitting a flood of Ebola patients is a sure way to nuke a hospital as effectively as a bio-weapon WMD attack over time. The hospital will be contaminated and much of the staff dead, of the ones who didn’t run away early.

Eventually we’ll see newly-created fever camps become the only refuge available to anybody showing flu symptoms. Hospitals will turn them away, maybe with police assistance and the offer of a handy bus driven by a fellow in a haz-mat suit to take them to their new/last home. What’s behind Door Number Two? Don’t worry, you’ll find out later. Maybe you only have the still-spreading Enterovirus D-68, AKA the Guatemalan Flu. You won’t know for sure until your eyeballs are bleeding. Unless maybe you caught the big-E from the guy vomiting on the next cot over. Maybe you just had a nasty cold when they brought you in last week.

And this begs the question, what happens when 1 or 2% of a city have died: who will go to work? People will self-quarantine at home and the economy will crash. And what about the police, fire fighters, EMTs, and hospital crews? What about the crews down at your local power plant, or food distribution center? Think they will all become Mother Teresas, martyring alongside the lepers for the greater good? Think they will not stay home? But even in the resulting economic crash, unfairness will be ferreted out. Is it fair that some people have prepared, and have several months-worth of food on hand? Is that fair, when the supermarkets were all looted in the general panic, and there have been no more food deliveries, and the EBT system is not functioning? Is it fair that some, who have prepared, will be able to simply ride out the Ebola pandemic?

So the already latently violent among the starving will be very motivated to come out and play. Starving goblins, millions of them. What about the goblins who may think they have already contracted Ebola, and have a week until they die? Or if they believe they will certainly contract the deadly virus soon? And what if they firmly believe by then that Ebola was a CIA/Mossad plot to wipe out Africans and people of African ancestry? Many American blacks are already angry. What happens to that anger when the epidemic strikes them? What happens when Ebola comes to Ferguson, USA, across most of the fifty states? Already brainwashed to a near fever-pitch of racial anger by professional agitators, it is my fear that after the plague hits they will then become super-beyond-belief pissed, and eager to share their case of Ebola with any white overlords and oppressors who come in range as their final act.

If you thought you were going to die in a week, most painfully and horribly, and you already had a giant hate-on for whitey, what might you do as some of your very final acts upon this earth? What will flash mobs of people that angry do? For just one example, home invasions in search of food and perceived retribution, will explode.

Talk about your perfect social storms. No, worse. Talk about your zombie apocalypse.

I’ll say it again: Alas, Brave New Babylon.

There is a certain logic to what you’re suggesting. It isn’t limited to blacks of course, there are plenty of white people on welfare doing the same thing. Their votes are bought with various welfare goodies.

Looking at all races, the biggest problem everyone is facing is the lack of father’s living in the home. It’s more pronounced in the black community where over 70% of babies are born illegitimately. Whites aren’t far behind at 40%. The lack of a father around is what breeds the criminal behavior that is, unfortunately, common place in the black community. Trayvon Martin didn’t live with his father until it was too late, Michael Brown was raised by his mother. Without a father around to keep boys in line, crime and street activity are far more likely. Race really isn’t a factor in this, though because of all the illegitimacy in the black community it’s more pronounced there.
