My Firefox browser will not bookmark Conservative sites
me | 10/17/2014 | Self / Vanity

OK, this is weird.

Starting yesterday, my Firefox browser (was version 32.0) would not make bookmarks to pages on conservative sites.

Free Republic, Hot Air, Lucianne... It worked on non-political sites just fine.

This morning I updated to Version 33.0, and the problem still persists. I checked at Democratic Underground and Daily Kos, and they bookmark normally, but Again/still Free Republic, Hot Air and Lucianne.com will not do bookmarks.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Am I just just unlucky; is the homosexual mafia that took over Mozilla playing games, or is the 0bama NSA screwing with me; or am I just nuts??

Perhaps you already bookmarked them or you downloaded the liberal version of Firefox.

My Firefox installation bookmarks any site I choose, v32.03.

You know of any liberals that might have had access to your machine? lol

I just bookmarked FR on latest version of Firefox. I bookmarked the FR Forum instead of the root freerepublic.com.

Next time the FR contribution page appears, don’t just page down!

Nope, I’m the only one who has physical access to it unless they surreptitiously enter while I am absent.

I’m more concerned by the fact that a lot of emails from conservative news sources go into my spam folder.

I’m on 32.03. I tried bookmarking Freerepublic, and it appeared to work, but the bookmark didn’t show up on the list. However, if I try to add the bookmark again, it doesn’t offer the option, only “Edit this Bookmark”.

However, I already had a bookmark for Freerepublic. So I tested it on Lucianne.com and was able to bookmark that page with no problem, as I had no pre-existing bookmark.

So maybe the issue is just that FF won’t display duplicate bookmarks?

Go into EDIT BOOKMARKS and see if you can cut and paste the FR URL into a bookmark that already exists, and then save it.

So there ARE some liberals that could POSSIBLY have access to your machine?

Also, if they are IT people, they may not even need physical access. They could just remote in, after setting you up for it.

Not trying to make you paranoid - I just know the potential of this stuff if people of a certain level of knowledge get access to your machine(because I’m one of those types of people).

Did you wave at your computer’s camera and send your NSA dude a cyber hug? I do that whenever mine goes wonky.

What’s Pale Moon?

I’ve tried Opera several times and didn’t like it, and their newest version has really bad reviews. I won’t do Chrome, or any of the others that base themselves on Chrome.

This is on a fairly new Windows 8.1 machine (which I also dislike)...
I should boot up my XP machine to see if it works properly on that.

You should download Pale Moon. It is a forked version from an earlier Firefox that has been uncoupled from Google and crap.

Had the same thing happen to me the other day when I went to bookmark a site in Firefox. Turns out I already had it bookmarked. Firefox won’t “duplicate bookmark.”

Pale Moon rocks for me.

I even found a way to watch live TV from the cable company, although there’s nothing I want to watch except maybe Dr. Who. It required Silverlight but I found something called “Pipelight” that worked.
