Obama Has Destroyed Dems on the Hill
Radix News ^ | October 31, 2014 | Scott Rasmussen

Whatever happens next Tuesday, President Obama’s time in office will have cost his party more seats in Congress than any president in at least half a century.

The numbers are stark. President Obama took office after the 2008 elections with 257 Democrats in the House of Representatives. At the moment, there are only 199 members of his party left — a net loss of 58 seats. And, virtually all analysts expect the number of Democrats to decline even more next Tuesday. The only question is by how much.

To put that number in perspective, the 58 seats already lost by the current president even tops the 46 lost by Richard Nixon amidst the Watergate scandal.

On the Senate side, the same trend is confirmed. Following the 2008 elections, the Democrats held 59 Senate seats. Expectations are that they will have between 45 and 50 following next week’s elections, a decline of 9 to 14 seats. Nixon’s Republicans lost six seats over the same time frame.

So...we get majority in both houses and have to deal with the mess that Obama has created. Who’s to say that trying to clean up this mess doesn’t get turned around on us in 2016?

Impeachment didn’t go over well the last time and it is doubtful that it will be tried again anytime soon. Since Obama will be the lamest of lame ducks with only two years left, and hopefully, with Harry Reid out of the Leaders position it doesn’t make sense. The Impeachment process would take all of the wind out of the sails of a new congress and overshadow everything else for the remaining two years.

From your lips...

The truth is that Democrat policies are destroying the Dems. What urban or Dem run states are fully functional?

-- Send Obama bills to veto, let to him whine, and find ways to submarine his executive orders. The people will turn against him even more as time goes on. --

The "will of the people" is whatever the press implants. Both parties in government see the government as the purveyor of fixes, and the people seem to at least accept this, if not demand it.

” First African-American president of the US’?
‘I want 2 entries after obama’s name in the great book of history. “

1. first African-American president of the US

2. destroyed the Democrat party’

I beg to differ -
obola is from nowhere and everywhere, that he is, by his own admission, half white and half black, which makes him the first ‘half and half’.

The great book of history should have an entry that he is just a USURPER and there has never been a 44th president!

His crimes against USA and against humanity will be in truckloads of history-books, or dramas or novels or tell-all books

-- There was a time when congress, regardless of party, jealously guarded its power vis a vis the executive. Thus, the executive needed congress in order to govern. The democrats have ceded that authority making themselves irrelevant to their own Dear Leader. --

The Republicans do the same thing when the president is a member of the Republican Party. A good measure of legislation originates in the executive department, either WH directly, or a regulatory agency. Somebody in Congress affixes their name to it and drops it in the hopper.

Congress has been persistently reluctant to exercise its power. This theme goes back a hundred years, maybe more. Congress might complain about the president, but it won't do anything to curb the unconstitutional exercise of federal power.

I agree. If things get really bad, they will figure a way to get rid of him. Through impeachment, or with the excuse of “health reasons.”

IMO, Obama WANTS to be impeached.

He is such a complete narcissist he cannot possibly walk away without making his mark on history. And as it stands, the track record of his legacy is quite pathetic.

Obama may or may not be a Christian, but he certainly knows the basic plot. Hence the idea of becoming the Greatest Martyr in 2000 Years (touching off a race war in the process) is no doubt endlessly appealing to him.

Exactly. I foresee the GOP trying to run an operation that facilitates "blame Obama" for whatever condition the country is in, and that "do nothing" approach will be spun by the press. And if the GOP plays hardball, the press will paint the GOP as extreme. Heads I win, tails you lose sort of game.

In that environment, the GOP is best off if it can convince the public that it is powerless, even though it has a majority.

ONLY DIMocRATs voted for nobolacare. They own their outcome. Some RINOs helped in committee. They all should at a minimum have their asses thrown out. At best, they would all be imprisoned for a long time, then exiled for their treachery and treason.
