An open letter to Roger Ailes: Please, PLEASE, for the love of God, take Juan Williams off the air.

Well, let me suggest a different way of looking at it.

For decades, I remember the three major networks would always stack the deck against the conservative spokesperson. There would be a panel of four, for example, and there would be one conservative.

That lone conservative would not be the smoothest talker. Invariably they’d be average or homely. Their heart and mind were in the right place but they were poor advocates for our side. The other three would be liberals, fast talkers, and would be rude and not let the conservative speak much.

This goes on to this day, but it’s not as pronounced.

This is the formula that Fox News adapted. While their on-air liberals would be more photogenic, they are half wits, easily befuddled, and often parodies of the modern white liberal.

In that context, Juan performs the same role as all those prior on-air conservatives, only this time the liberals are on the business end of the deal.

Same goes for Beckel and others. They’re performing their role - making liberals look bad and outclassed.

Am I mistaken, or is Fox’s White House correspondent Ed Henry soft on Obama?

>> Sometimes it seems he understands the role he is to play so he tosses those libtard talking points up there but he actually knows better. <<

Agreed. I think Williams is sorta like a lawyer, who can take either side of just about any argument. Probably Ailes has hired him to “play a role” — which he tries his best to do. But once in a while, as when he subs for O’Reilly, he often strays into a semi-conservative stance.

Exactly

And it’s fun to watch Charls Krauthammer laughing at him.

Last night the entire table was on the verge of laughing out loud

“The Eyebrow”?

I much prefer SKELETOR.

Actually, I do not mind having Williams. I agree he is often vacant, but why not?

Yes, he is a fool much of the time. But beautifully unhinged too, so libs seem bad.

But, I do appreciate Beckel’s rants on Moslems. The guy is like my uncle. Raving Dem, but also raving anti-Moslem.

>> So I think Roger Ailes has a method to his madness by having these loser lefties on the air. <<

Absolutely. Couldn’t agree more. Also, the leftwing chicks on FNC are usually not so “easy on the eyes” as the gorgeious rightwing babes. In fact, many of the former are downright homely. Just another manifestation of Ailes’ genius for TV?

Agree all around. Brit does seem to fall down too much.

Not as bad as my local radio show host who is too old and has been going “..eh...uh...” more than Uhbama. Les Kinsolving. My dreams were realized the other week when it was announced he is only doing a few hours Sunday night and will no longer pre-empt the last hour of Levin every day of the week!

Maybe the same will happen with Brit.

“..make him co-anchor with Shep Smith on that “thing”..that watchamacallit afternoon show where Shep talks to big TV monitors..They’d be PERFECT together. “

Thanks,I thought it was me-——the funniest thing ever on TV.

Whoever dreamed up that type of news presentation must have been on a bad acid trip.

Very bad.

The guy they should phase out is Brit Hume. While his politics are fine, he fumbles and stumbles a lot. The energy REALLY slows down when he talks, to the point where I feel bad for the guy.

His expression is always like that bloodhound cartoon, dour and depressed looking. It’s like they came to his house and forced him at gunpoint to the studio. And I guess he refuses the makeup, but he should accept a little because he looks like a pale grey corpse. He doesn’t have to dig his fingers into the foundation and blush like Shep and Chris Wallace, who look like girls playing in Mama’s makeup box, but he looks downright clammy.

The “babe” thing must work for you boys.

I do not mind them having attractive women on. But I do not like how they dress them, like hoochie evening-out dresses at best. They should look more professional. What is wrong with wearing a proper skin-covering suit? Meanwhile the men all wear full suits.

And I would say some if those guys are pretty attractive. Why are they not in Speedoes?

“”Fox could do themselves a favor by ditching the two line vote results slide at the bottom of the screen””

Agree - I got so tired of trying to read it that I finally just turned the TV off.. They could give us results that we can read and take out the cast of characters. We don’t need to see them but we do need to see the election results.

Actually, what most people aren't aware of is that Bob Beckel was originally in that spot on the panel, but he was so infuriated by Krauthammer's cogent analysis that this was a referrendum on Obama that Beckel walked off the set. Thus, Jaun Williams was an emergency fill in for Beckel who was shattered when his idol was crushed.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Fully agreed. He’s better on more wonky shows where he’s prepared and works more from notes or a script. He fails at off-the-cuff, contemporaneous shows like an election night - he stammers and bores me with his stories in his low-energy delivery.

When Hume's son died....all the joy left his face..

The guy in charge of FOX New's Washington operations is Bill Salmon..He hasn't been on air in a long time..not sure why..he was very good...His book on the 2000 presidential election is a classic.

No, he is as dumb as a box of rocks. My cousin knows him and she is as liberal as they come.
