Actually, I really apologize for my last comment. It was unwarranted, especially when I just recently tried to give a correction on another thread in much the same manner.
There isn’t an excuse for my comment and I am sorry.
In the spirit of the season you should change you username to Grover Dill.
Garner was soliciting cigs outside of a mom and pop, plays-by-the rules, small grocery store. It was the merchants who were complaining about Garner.
The man was killed over a small amount of tax monies.
Sure. And Brown in Ferguson was killed for walking in the middle of the road.
Your comment is absurd.
The guy had a huge arrest record, and he resisted arrest. He unfortunately was in poor health.
And there’s no evidence that the alleged “chokehold” in any way caused his death.
Some have mentioned that the crime was negligable, selling individual cigarettes, and the democrat run governments greed for taxes, but that doesn’t erase the facts above.
IMO some conservatives are trying to appease the racebaiters on this one. No good will come of it.
No, your willingness to shill for the police state is absurd.
Yep there's definitely some here falling all over themselves to appease Al and Jesse and the rest of the racebaiters. Shameful.
Garner wasn't as bad as brown, but he was a habitual criminal, out on bond and doing something illegal. It's not the police's fault he chose to resist arrest and was in poor health.
Your response is empty. You can’t deal with what I said so you say nothing.
So what do you think the grand jury should have done?
A good number of those arrests were for selling cigarettes. This is just like the government burning down the Branch Davidian house in Waco. No need to force the issue at that time. It was a dumb escalation over cigarettes. Just dumb.
See http://www.silive.com/northshore/index.ssf/2014/07/eric_garner_who_died_in_police.html
“At the time of his death, the Port Richmond resident had three misdemeanor cases pending in Stapleton Criminal Court. He was free on $2,000 bail.
On Aug. 22 of last year, Garner was arrested on School Road and Bay Street, Fort Wadsworth, for allegedly driving without a license, according to a criminal complaint.
Garner, 43, gave cops a phony name and put himself in more hot water when officers allegedly found untaxed cigarettes and a small amount of marijuana in the 1998 Lincoln Navigator he was driving, the complaint said.
He was charged with aggravated unlicensed vehicle operation, false personation, possession or sale of untaxed cigarettes and marijuana possession, according to information from District Attorney Daniel Donovan’s office.
Seven months later, while out on $1,000 bail, Garner was busted on March 28 for allegedly selling unstamped cigarettes on the street outside of 200 Bay St., Tompkinsville. He had 24 packs of untaxed smokes in his possession, police said.
The location is next door to 202 Bay St., where the fatal confrontation occurred Thursday between cops and Garner.
Garner was charged with a misdemeanor count of violating the cigarette and tobacco products tax and posted $1,000 bail, online state court records show.
Garner was arrested again on May 7 on Victory Boulevard and St. Marks Place, Tompkinsville. The site is across the block from Bay Street.
Cops accused him of possessing six packs of untaxed cigarettes.
Garner last appeared in court to answer the three cases on July 2. The matters were all adjourned then to Oct. 7, online state court records show.”
So the grand jury should have convicted the cop of murder because_______????????

Complain all you want about taxes and liberals creating a black market. Absolutely right.
But that doesn’t mean the cop murdered Garner. There is NO evidence that the alleged “chokehold” (which isn’t even banned) caused Garner’s death. That’s what a grand jury decided based on facts and evidence.
stop appeasing the racebaiters.
Where did I say that???
I’m saying it’s really lousy police work and that the man didn’t have to die over silly cigarettes.
Fox was saying yesterday morning that a federal deprivation of civil rights case can use ‘death’ as proof that civil rights were violated. What they can’t prove is intent.
So, it gets to a civil suit. Can the family win a case claiming lousy police work? I’d give them a decent shot at a victory on that one.
I didn’t say that.
Coach is right.
The Ferguson incident really shut down the “All Cops are Scum” crowd here at FR. At least temporarily.
Now that Garner has been “Murdered by a JBT”; we see them crawling out of their mom’s basement to speak their losertarian rhetoric all over the place again.
From my observation, the Garner case is a case of gov’t corruption.
As for Ferguson, the cop shop a 300# thug that had already attacked him and was running at him to finish the job.
How can it be a "Police State" when these are local police we're talking about?
Read back. I never said such. Show me
