If Palin ran 3rd party, the GOP would have their heads handed to them.

And rightfully so.

The objective is to destroy the GOP, and build a Conservative party, it will be slow but worth it, because staying with the GOP is no longer an option for many.

It would be the ultimate irony to have Hillary win with the third “Clintonian plurality” in a row.

Form a third party and invite true conservatives in office to join. You will immediately see the rinos voting with the democrats. This will out them. Then, maybe, we can vote them out and replace them with third party candidates.

That is already happening. Look at all the “tea party conservatives” who voted for the obama-boehner amnesty yesterday. Chaffetz, Yoho, etc. We’re smoking out the fake conservatives.

We already know who the fake conservatives are. Sadly, it’s the huge majority of them. But we haven’t been able to vote them out. Cantor is the only one. His replacement won’t have much power.

The elites know this and they know we’ll always vote for them. Now they’ve rigged it even more in their favor. There’s no way to win by running against them. Talk about splitting the vote. “Moderates” vote for the rinos. “Progressives” vote for the democrats. That leaves the rest of us.

I’m sick and tired of being taken for granted. It’s time we all found someone new to love who will love us back because this relationship has run it’s course.

(My love affair with an abuser is over. Support a third party.)

I want to believe that if a third party did form, there very well may be enough Conservative (all inclusive) voters to make it viable.

The issue is getting them out of their “fix the party from within” and “lesser of 2 evils” voting method.

My opinion is too many are concerned...concerned their 3rd party votes will help elect a Dem, etc.

Good arguments abound here and elsewhere for “fix the party from within” and “start a third party.” Which one is the solution is the question.

What I do know for sure is what we’re doing isn’t working.

Nor was Ross Perot as polarizing as Sarah Palin. I love Sarah, and applaud what she's done for our cause. However, there are far too many of us around who took the chance and voted for Ross Perpt.

Read post 76, Perot was like Obama was in 2008, people just followed him without even knowing his politics, they just assumed that he mirrored their own.

This kind of reads like a prayer litany.

Palin is certainly not the only one who could turn things around -- and with things such as they are I think Cruz is a better choice.

you define personally what it is to be conservative...interesting....all I said was that I did not think she would be good president....that makes me not conservative. I actually like her politics and agree with 90% of what she says...I was excited when she ran as a vice president candidate and thought she was a up in comer in the party. Maybe if she were to go back to state politics in another ten years my opinion would change and I would seem her as being a good candidate. You suffer from something that plagues any group doing political discourse and that is thinking that any thing that does not exactly fallow your ideology is wrong. to make political change it takes looking for places you can work with people you disagree with not everyone is going to agree with you. I AM CONSERVATIVE you claim I am ant Palin trolling all I did was say that I did not think she was a good presidential canadate. my guess is that you live in your own echo chamber I suggest that listen to people you disagree with because you have become so narrow minded in the area of politics you cant take healthy critic

LOL, Palin was an up and coming star, and became the most dominate and effective republican in America in the last 6 years, she went from standing alone in November of 2008, to help create and lead a movement.

Her campaign activities have built a conservative wing inside of the GOP.

You are merely suffering from anti-Palin troll disease.

What earthly difference does it make whether the R’s or the D’s “win” the election? They both come from the same bucket of sh!t. Regardless of which “party” wins, America loses! Maybe, just maybe if a third-party candidate gets enough votes to show the powers that be they aren’t as powerful as they think we can get some changes made within the next twenty years.

If we keep doing what we’ve been doing, we’ll keep getting what we’re getting now.

Sara Palin is not the leader of the tea party movement. the great thing about the tea party is that it is not centered around one person. yes her actions have built up the party and I applaud her for that . I think Sara Palin’s support of candidates is a major reason we have a majority in the senate. I want her to continue doing what she is doing. you are acting Like I praised O’bozo the clowns job as president. Just because I think that she would not be a good president. I will say that if she were to be chosen for the republican party I would vote for her but I would not be excited over the prospect. basically I would vote for her because anything is better then a democrat at this point in the united states.

I didn’t say that, but you sure sound like a retread.

You are merely suffering from anti-Palin troll disease.

You are going from troll to sounding like a retread, as you want to start repeating the same old repetitious nonsense we have been dealing with for years from you guys.

You don’t want her in the presidency or the vice presidency, great way to start here.

However, a history of third party candidates guides this issue.
70 3rd party candidates have run for President since 1832, and none have even come close. That includes such well known candidates as Teddy Roosevelt in 1912 who was running for another term after quitting the GOP.

None of us with feet on the ground actually KNOWS what is going to happen at the next election. Granted, history gives us some pretty good hints but no certainties. My vote is truly an infinitesimal small weight on the balance of political power - but it is mine! While I truly do not believe we can vote our way out of this mess we’ve voted ourselves into, I’ll keep trying until elections are cancelled.

But there are some caveats to that decision:
1) I will not vote for anyone who plans to destroy this country. That includes those who have shown a propensity for lying and who then tell me that they will work to pass laws to rebuild that which they have torn down.
2) I will not vote for anybody I do not know. Some politicians work in obscure positions which rarely see the light of day. If I can’t see something good coming out of that office or if I have no idea what that office is supposed to accomplish, I will - at best - simply not vote for either candidate, though occasionally I will simply vote against whatever candidate is incumbent.
3) When I consider which candidate to vote for I imagine myself in a crowded airline terminal with my young grand-daughter. She needs to go to the bathroom but I can’t take her. Which of the candidates would I trust to escort her?

In the last election, I did not vote for President but I did vote for challengers to the incumbent in other offices. My vote in the next election (if I am still alive) will be decided the same way.

I will never vote for a Socialist, no matter which flag he/she is wrapped in!

I agree with you.

God gave her a platform from which she is no longer the target of the lame stream media, and she needs to keep it. Moving back into the target range would mean the election would be filled with her private life, and not focused on the issues.

Just a note..... criticizing Mrs. Palin on Free Republic is akin to criticizing Jesus. Or Ronald Reagan. She has attained a level of deification that makes her immune to any criticism, regardless of what she says or does.

This country doesn’t have to be run like anything , just get government out of the way , the government that runs best is the government that governs the least. government and the media are the problem. the free market is the solution (ie. capitalism)
