Parents Threaten to Sue 5-Year-Old for Missing their Son's Birthday Party

A five-year-old boy is facing a potential lawsuit after missing the birthday of one of his friends.

Alex Nash’s father, Derek, told Alex’s friend in person that his son would be able to attend a ski-themed birthday party last month. However, the father had forgotten that he had family obligations and Alex was not able to attend. The birthday boy’s parents had not given Mr. Nash their contact information, so he was unable to tell them that his son wouldn’t be able to go.

At the beginning of January, Mr. Nash tried once again to contact the birthday boy’s parents to apologize for Alex not being at the party, but was not able to contact them.

When Alex returned to school this month, however, he found an envelope that he did not remember putting into his backpack at the end of a school day. Upon further inspection by his father, it turned out to be an invoice, created by the parents of the birthday boy.

It read “Childs Party No Show Fee” and demanded £15.95, or about 24 dollars. At first Mr. Nash thought it was a joke, until he was told by the birthday boy’s mother that she would sue him and his son in small claims court if he didn’t pony up the money.

She has just warned all other families not to attend any party at her son’s home. What a poor attitude. I’ll bet she’s a delight to live with./

No, the right thing to do is pay the 15.94 pounds sterling.

The friendship may not survive, but I’m sure the parents had to lay out some serious coin to host the party.

Just chalk it up to miscommunication.

When my daughter left the USAF, I was bitterly disappointed. Because I saw our last chance to get to Area 51 and our ride back to our home planet vanish.

I am convinced that at some point, reality split Star Trek style and a few of us ended up in the wrong place. Either that Or Revelations came to pass and we are all in hell.

The right thing to do is shun her, mock her and anyone that would in any way support such liberal assholery.

I am not disagreeing, but if it were me, I’d just pay the $ to get her out of my hair.

Forever.

I don’t see the point of feeding the monster. All that gets is a bigger monster.

Tell her to publicly urinate up a braided fibrous object and be done with her $25 and one’s pride richer.

They should just sell tickets to the party in advance!

We gave our 5 year old a Birthday Party at a puppet theater. One of the little girls kept shouting that none of it was real till I had my wife shush her.

I’d like to sue that one.

Dane-Geld

-Rudyard Kipling

It is always a temptation to an armed and agile nation
To call upon a neighbour and to say: —
“We invaded you last night—we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away.”

And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you’ve only to pay ‘em the Dane-geld
And then you’ll get rid of the Dane!

It is always a temptation for a rich and lazy nation,
To puff and look important and to say: —
“Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away.”

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to say: —

“We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that pays it is lost!”

“The friendship may not survive, but I’m sure the parents had to lay out some serious coin to host the party.”.....

It is NOT the obligation of one who is invited to actually attend such a “party”. Obviously there were circumstances that prevented the boy from attending and his parents attempted to contact the birthday boys parents to advise them of such. Unless there was a written response or agreement to having to pay for attending, I would think the “invited” would NOT be obligated to pay. Just my opinion.

Counter-sue for a thousand pounds for defamation and harrassment and fraud and malice.

At the very least, the birthday parents had the obligation to give their contact information to the parents of those who would be attening the party.

In addition, using a little boy to ferry legal notices is arguably child abuse, as such an admittedly hostile person cannot be presumed not to have wrongly spoken to their little boy.

And finally, going around to others and telling them not to attend the other little boy’s party is again child abuse, as well as defamation and harrassment and fraud and malice.

Is all that over the top? Of course - except for the circumstances. Context makes it a reality slap that these nasty people need to grow up - or at least slink away back to the rotten hole they live in.

I say that in partial jest because sometimes I seriously DO think that it’s the only possible explanation for the madness we live in.

I mean I’m open to other possibilities of a more terrestrial nature, but ain’t seeing anything so far that makes sense.

(1) Try celestial not terrestrial

(2) Be sure to look at YOU in the mirror and behold another instance of the roots of just the things you hate, only the proportions and circumstances may vary

Isn’t there an abortion happening somewhere you should rush to equate with every other sin? I mean one is just as bad as another according to you. So go do that instead of derailing yet another thread with your “I’m gonna one-up Normie” fetish.
