The secret plan to regulate the web.
In a completely unsurprising development, one of the two Republican Commissioners on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has made it clear the Obama administrations effort to regulate the Internet is nothing more than another government power grab.
President Obamas plan marks a monumental shift toward government control of the Internet, said a statement released by commissioner Ajit Pai. It gives the FCC the power to micromanage virtually every aspect of how the Internet works. The plan explicitly opens the door to billions of dollars in new taxes on broadband These new taxes will mean higher prices for consumers and more hidden fees that they have to pay.
Pai continued:
So titty bars and religious symbols in jars of urine are “protected speech,” but actual words, in written, audio, and video form transmitted on privately owned wires are not.
Our famously “living document,” the Constitution, is flexible enough to cover a woman taking her clothes off in public, but not flexible enough to update the First Amendment to cover digital speech on the internet.
Got it.
This is world changing, which is why I am surprised it is not getting more press. Can we stop him? Can the FCC just do this?
Obama must control the Internet before he announces his run for a Third Term
He would say it was an indefinite second term.
