Jeb Bush Is Not the GOP’s Ideal ‘Change’ Candidate

by JONAH GOLDBERG March 13, 2015

He’s the only Republican candidate who would make the Clinton name an asset for Hillary, not a liability. Let us now make the case for Jeb skepticism. Jeb Bush is a fine man. He’s a conservative. He was a highly effective conservative governor. He would probably make a fine president. And, if he were the Republican nominee, there would be precious few good arguments — from a conservative perspective — for sitting out the election, never mind voting for the Democratic nominee (whoever she may be). If the choice comes down to Bush versus Clinton, the conservative cause would be advanced by another Bush presidency far more than it would be advanced by another Clinton presidency. That’s just my opinion, but I consider it as obvious as noting that water is wet.

But will it come down to that? And, more importantly, should it? Let’s start with the first question. It’s definitely possible that Bush will be the nominee. He is raising a mind-boggling amount of money. He’s doing well in the polls right now, though how much of that has to do with name recognition or the media-constructed aura of inevitability is unknowable. Some people like to back the winner early. Many in the press have been treating Jeb like the inevitable nominee for months. Maybe some of that rubbed off? Still, Bush is not doing that great.

He may be running nearly neck-and-neck with the front-runner, Wisconsin governor Scott Walker, but Walker and Florida senator Marco Rubio have much more room to grow. A recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that 42 percent of Republicans “couldn’t see” themselves supporting Bush.

Jeb is exactly what The Cheap Labor Express wants in a candidate. If he wins then the voters have endorsed amnesty. He’s not going to win, of course.
He is the designated loser, just like McCain and Romney.
McCain said No Amnesty, but nobody believed him. He had just authored McCain/Kennedy.
Romney said No Amnesty, but anyone who believed anything from Romney hasn’t seen the 1990’s tapes. He ran to Drunk Teddy’s left for Senate.

We haven’t been allowed to vote for anyone who wasn’t on board The Cheap Labor Express since Reagan.

The purpose of the GOP today is to block conservatives from power.

Ted Cruz is the only one running who might not betray us.

Jeb certainly will.

Krispy Kreme, Rubio, Rand Paul are not running. There all amnesty guys anyway.
Huckabee and Carly are on the payroll just to disrupt things so Ted Cruz is not nominated.

The money and power do not want us to be able to elect anyone who actually WOULD stop the invasion.

They want to steal our country.

Well, for starters, he’d end the fiction that the Southwest belongs to the U.S.

Like his son, he believes that the Mexican war was an evil mistake, that President Polk was merely an egregious racist, and that the Goliad Massacre of 300 Americans by Santa Anna’s troops was a righteous act of an outraged Mexican nation. “Manifest Destiny” was so much hooey, ya know?

Le Dauphin Bush most definitely is all about change. He and his family want the Americans out of America, replaced by a peon population that will gratefully bow to his dynastic family. And mow their lawns on demand...

Jeb's probably going to be a lot like his brother and his dad.

Fiscal liberals.

Hold on... hold on... wait a minute, Jonah.

You lost me, there, at: "He's a conservative".

Do you suppose you could offer some evidence of this, instead of just stating it as if it's a forgone conclusion?

A campaign ad against Jeb should say, “What for, Hillary is already running?”

Any Democrat can be substituted for Hillary, and Jeb is just a substitute for any Democrat. They could skip the debates on the grounds of repetitive nonsense.
