Bibi Appears to Pull Back Election Vow, Says There Can Be Side-by-Side Peace With Palestinians … IF.
Independent Journal Review ^ | 03/19/2015 | Victoria Taft

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to pull back his campaign vow to not seek a Palestinian state, during an interview on MSNBC.

Andrea Mitchell asked Netanyahu about his pre-election day rhetoric which, as the BBC reports, went down like this:

Whoever ignores that is burying his head in the sand. The left is doing that, burying its head in the sand time after time,” he told the nrg news website.

When asked if that meant a Palestinian state would not be established if he is elected, Netanyahu replied ‘indeed’.

The Jerusalem Post reports Netanyahu told Mitchell he’d never changed his position, telling Mitchell:

I want a sustainable peaceful two-state solution. But for that, circumstances have to change.

If you want to get peace, you’ve got to get the Palestinian leadership to abandon their pact with Hamas and engage in genuine negotiations with Israel for an achievable peace. We have to also make sure that we don’t have ISIS coming in to that territory. It’s only two dozen miles away from our border.

When Netanyahu telegraphed the ‘no Palestinian state message’ before the election, as Think Progress reports, Democrats exploded in anger. The angriest comments came from White House spokesman Josh Earnest, who took umbrage at Netanyahu’s election day text urging his voters to get out to the polls because, ‘Arab voters are going to the polls in droves':

The United States and this administration is deeply concerned about rhetoric that seeks to marginalize Arab-Israeli citizens. Rhetoric that seeks to marginalize one segment of their population is deeply concerning and it is divisive and I can tell you that these are views the administration intends to communicate directly to the Israelis.

Netanyahu insisted his get-out-the-vote text was not racist.

As the Jerusalem Post reports, Netanyahu retorted it was in response to foreign political efforts to get rid of him:

He said his words referred to a ‘massive foreign funded effort’ to try to get out votes for a specific party (the United List), which he called ‘an amalgamation of Islamists and other anti-Israel groups.’

The Washington Free Beacon has uncovered and IJReview  has reported, the Obama administration gave U.S. taxpayer-funded grant money to a group seeking to unseat Netanyahu in Tuesday’s election.

PM Netanyahu told Mitchell that, despite the efforts to undermine him and Israel’s position,

America has no greater ally than Israel, and Israel has no greater ally than the United States.

Israel is the only state in the world that is constantly put on the defensive about its very existence. While Israel is constantly attacked and people demand that it give Palestine its own state (even though Palestinians have refused numerous times to establish its own state), the fact is that Palestinians refuse to acknowledge the legal existence of Israel.

The Palestinians are not alone in this regard. According to Congressional records:

At present, a total of 32 United Nations member states do not recognise the State of Israel: 18 of the 22 members of the Arab League: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen; a further 11 members of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brunei, Chad, Guinea, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Mali, Niger, and Pakistan.

In addition, the Atlantic reports that only 8% of individuals in the Middle East and North Africa are aware of the Holocaust and believe it has been accurately described by most historians. Nearly 4 out of 5 who are aware of the Holocaust believe that the prevailing narrative about it is either greatly exaggerated or a hoax.

Much of the conflict today regards territories that were claimed by Israel after the Six-Day War in 1967. The backdrop to this was a 1948 invasion of Arab states into Israel, which threatened the nascent state’s very existence.

During the Six-Day War, the nation claimed the West Bank, Golan Heights and Gaza Strip as militarily strategic territory needed to defend against a potential invasion from a coalition of surrounding Arab nations: Egypt, Syria and Jordan.

The Middle Eastern nations, not to mention the rest of the world, are still arguing about this territory to this very day.

The Obama Admimistration simply wants to “cherry-pick” a single statement, out of YEARS OF POLICY and ACTIONS by Israel and Netanyahu, to use as an EXCUSE to “bring down the hammer” on Israel and Netanyahu, something Obama has wanted to do all along!!

In First Post-Election Interview Netanyahu Says He Supports ‘Sustainable’ Two-State Solution, Never Changed His Policy
http://www.algemeiner.com/2015/03/19/in-first-post-election-interview-netanyahu-says-he-supports-‘sustainable’-two-state-solution-never-changed-his-policy/

JNS.org - In his first interview with American media after his Likud party’s election victory, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he supports a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes a Jewish state, if specific circumstances make that a realistic possibility.

“I don’t want a one-state solution,” he said in an interview with NBC News. “I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution.”

In a pre-election interview on Monday, Netanyahu had told the NRGwebsite that he would not support Israeli withdrawal from its territory to make room for a Palestinian state, due to the possibility of attacks by Islamic extremists.

“I haven’t changed my policy,” Netanyahu told NBC News on Thursday. “I never retracted my speech at Bar-Ilan University six years ago calling for a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes a Jewish state.”

Netanyahu said he believes “circumstances have to change” for there to be a Palestinian state, adding that current Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has made a pact with Hamas that calls for Israel’s destruction.

“And every territory that is vacated today in the Middle East is taken up by Islamist forces,” he said. “We want that to change so we can realize a vision of real, sustained peace.”

The U.S. State Department on Thursday said it “can’t forget” what Netanyahu said about his position on a two-state solution earlier this week.

“Certainly, the prime minister’s comments from a few days ago called into question his commitment to that,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.

“We believe he changed his position,” she added. “We can’t forget about those [initial] comments.”

Netanyahu maintains the same position he’s ALWAYS HAD with negotiating with the PA for forming a Palestinian State. As I suspected and have known from before, Netanyahu’s position on that is reasonable and fair ... and HAS NOT CHANGED!

And on the issue of ARABS In Israel, he made clear what his position HAS ALWAYS BEEN with Israeli Arab Citizens ... they have full rights of any citizen and they will be helped by various social programs as he has always done, and they will NOT be discriminated against. They are FULLY INTEGRATED into Israeli society!

BOTH of those things sounds EXACTLY like the Netanyahu from before and extremely fair. Israel should be EXTREMELY PROUD of Netanyahu as their Prime Minister!

Prime Minister Netanayahu gets SLAMMED by the Left and the New York Times ... AND ... and he gets SLAMMED by the Right and the Israeli papers ... LOL ...

AGAIN ... Netanyahu’s position on being very willing to negotiate with the PA and very willing in forming a Palestinian State has remained the SAME for years ... as he pointed out from his Bar-Ilan speech.

Netanyahu has never been the “holdup” on forming the Palestinian State, it has been the Palestinian Authority who has been the holdup. They don’t want to get the Palestinian State through “negotiations” with Israel, but they want to get it from it being “imposed from the outside” without any conditions attached,

Netanyahu Flip Flop: I Want a Two-State Solution [Israel]
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3269715/posts

Days after vowing not to establish a Palestinian state, Netanyahu says something else in his first post-election interview.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has retracted his pre-election statements, according to which he would not allow a Palestinian state to be established.

“I don’t want a one-state solution. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution,” Netanyahu said Thursday in an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. “I haven’t changed my policy.”

Netanyahu said his earlier comments were a reflection of changing conditions on the Palestinian side, pointing to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s pact to form a unity government with Hamas, which Israel, the U.S. and most European countries consider a terrorist organization.

“I’m talking about what is achievable and what is not achievable,” Netanyahu said Thursday, insisting that he would support a demilitarized Palestinian state under a plan that would ensure Israel’s security.

Netanyahu must be under pressure from the US to walk his statement back and comply with Clinton/Obama dictates on the Two State Solution.

Peace with the palestinians is a unicorn pipe dream. You simply cannot make peace with someone who wants you dead.

Why is American media reporting on Israel’s every move. Don’t they have enough to cover with the Muslim dictator in the White House?

Yet in the end, I’m sure Obama will again come up with the short end of the stick.

I wonder how long Egypt can back Israel. Will France become Israel’s white knight or does Israel go the darkside and look to Putin. A Chinese sellout is out of the question as they know all they have to do is wait.

You don’t have to “make peace” ... all you have to do is “make it defensible” and that will be what Netanyahu will accomplish ... nothing more and nothing less ... :-) ...

In the end, it’s ISRAEL which will affect the “outcome” for the entire world, so the American media does well to cover EVERYTHING about Israel, which is actually more important than anything else in the world.

And THAT is according to the Word of God. There’s not a single word about Obama there, and there is almost everything about Israel ... :-) ...

[[Peace with the palestinians is a unicorn pipe dream.]]

Well it’s actually written about in the bible prophesy- peace will come, but it will be through deceit that Israel accepts it- All this crap by our administration and muslims taking over the UN etc- could very well be shaping up as prophesy fulfilled- It seems incredible that the Jews won’t be able to see the writing on the wall so to speak, but that is what will happen- the bible also talks about powerful delusion being unleashed upon the people- and I think that is talking about the nation of Israel believing the lie that peace is possible- The anti-Christ will broker the peace deal using deceit

Very true, that's why this is a calculated move against Obama and his MSM
to make all their predictions look foolish. One by one to shut them up.

And it's working, and it's really pissing off the Obamajihad disciples.

I really don’t think Prime Minister Netanyahu is “suicidal” with himself or his country. Netanyahu isn’t an “ideologue” ... but rather a “pragmatist.” That’s because Israel is a small country and it can’t afford “ideological purity” ... that leads to self-destruction!

yeah it’s just rough watching the world we grew up in, loved, and felt secure in go to hell as it were- and it’s especially rough watching how fast it has done so- just 6 short years- and it’s rough watching the evil be so blatant and in our faces- and watching the GOPe do nothing to stop it because apparently they support it too.

I keep telling folks, almost every single day I wake, watch the news, and hear about this administration doing something that is even more shocking than the day before- and this has been going on for 6 years now!

[[Zer0 will make Bibi do it with UN and worldwide sanctions crippling their effort.]]

God may step in and reveal the wealth He promised Israel at this point- I’ts very possible Israel is sitting on vast massive oil and gas deposites- the bible seems to indicate this “The wealth beneath it’s feet” or something akin to that, and it talks about Asher dipping it’s feet in oil- It’s also possible that at this point the nations will scramble to ‘align’ themselves with Israel because of the massive wealth (whatever the source will be) and only then will a ‘peace agreement’ be made- not because the nations want peace, but because they want tiem to figure out a way to get that wealth from Israel

all just a theory, but the bible does seem to indicate this

Yes, it is shocking, and no one should be joyful that all this is happening or about what future disastrous things are about to happen. But having said that, and knowing that many more terrible things are going to happen in the world, we will still be HAPPY to look forward to the coming of the Messiah of Israel back to this earth, which is what is going to happen at the conclusion of all these DISASTROUS things! We don’t wish for the disasters, but we do know that better times will come afterwards!
