Sarah Palin is an outspoken proponent of gun owners rights, but are her gun-friendly grandchildren at risk? After Bristol Palins fiancé, Dakota Meyer, and her baby daddy, Levi Johnston, both came under fire for posting photos of children with guns, RadarOnline.com spoke with the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. A spokesperson warned the families that this is a teachable moment and they have a responsibility not to promote an attitude of recklessness.

I grew up with weapons. My grandfather would take me shooting when I was in the first grade. He would help me hold the 22 bolt action rifle. When I turned 13 I was allowed to have my own weapon, also a 22 bolt action rifle, and keep it in my room and also the ammo.
I was taught respect for the weapon and what it could do. I was taught the proper handling and care of the weapon. Today I am 67 years old and have never used a weapon in a dangerous manner nor hostile manner. I am very capable with firearms and shoot once a week. My friends come to my house and we shoot on my private range. After shooting we cook deer burgers harvested with weapons and drink adult beverages after the weapons are stowed.
My friends hunt on my land and I am never concerned about their use of weapons. They were raised the same as I. Relative to hunting I have two rules that must never be violated. If you violate these rules you will never hunt on my land nor be welcome in my house.
1. Never shoot a weapon in an unsafe manner, period.
2. Never take a shot at a deer unless you are 100% sure of a clean kill shot, period.
A weapon is merely a tool but dangerous if used wrongly. A government that wants to take your weapons is many times more dangerous than our weapons.
“She said he came unwound and the yutes ran off the porch.”
I’ve come to trust the ability of my dogs to pass quick judgment on the ‘quality’ of unknown folks at the door. If the Blue Heeler goes into Cujo mode, I take that hint. If the Lab cross goes all Rin-Tin-Tin, we pay attention. Best damn lie-detectors in the world.
there is one on my hip all day and i work from home. may change out to another when i leave the house. also, based on my annual legal class i took last week, i have paced off all the probable inside the house shooting encounters so i know distances to practice at.
That’s not Levy Johnston
The poster got Dakota mixed up with Levi! LOL
One is a hero, the other a zero.
“”The poster got Dakota mixed up with Levi! LOL

I have no idea if it’s supposed to be Dakota Meyer or Levi Johnson but there isn’t a small baby in the Palin family now anyway, is there? How old is the picture?
Sorry, but I think guns should be secured if children are around.
Sure, your kids may be well trained. But kids bring friends over, and they may not know not to touch anything. Many children have not been taught gun safety, but are nevertheless fascinated by them because they’re so prominent in movies and TV.
This is a dangerous combination.
I’m not criticizing the two young gentlemen in this story, but people who seem to think it’s okay to leave guns lying around loose, even possibly loaded, on the theory that kids will know better than to mess with them.
I hope he does lock it up when he isn't around the gun and not leave it lying around like that

Agree
The frantic gun grabbers fell into this mousetrap predictably.
Which is why his suicide attempt failed. The gun he assumed was loaded, wasn’t.
