The latest dispatch from the United Kingdoms ongoing campaign to eliminate all forms of armed self-defense seems too incredible to be true. Unfortunately, after tracking down the origin of a publicly distributed statement regarding self-defense products on the countrys Ask the Police website, we can confirm that British subjects continue to live at the mercy of their potential attackers. Even to the point of baffling absurdity.
The statement appears in the Frequently Asked Questions section of www.askthe.police.uk a site that is operated by the Police National Legal Database. Information provided by the PNLD and its site are used by local police constabularies to help inform the public.
The question at issue asks, Are there any legal self defence products that I can buy? Succinctly epitomizing the sad state of natural rights in Great Britain, the first sentence states, The only fully legal self defence product at the moment is a rape alarm.
And to add even more insult to human dignity, the statement cautions subjects against the use of nearly any other type of defense product, and reads like an appeal for victims to graciously suffer criminal violence. The answer makes clear You must not get a product which is made or adapted to cause a person injury. Possession of such a product in public (and in private in specific circumstances) is against the law. So even in the sanctity of ones home, the statement seems to suggest that care for violent offenders outweighs the rights of potential victims to be safe and secure against attack.
The statement then addresses the legality of inert dye sprays that merely mark ones attacker for later identification; in contrast to self-defense sprays like mace or pepper spray that inflict pain in order to halt an attack. The site is so concerned with the well-being of violent criminals, that in the context of dye sprays, it states,be aware that even a seemingly safe product, deliberately aimed and sprayed in someone's eyes, would become an offensive weapon because it would be used in a way that was intended to cause injury.
Whether its this detestable advice, police warning a woman not to display a knife in order to ward off intruders, warrantless firearm storage inspections, or desperate subjects being forced to defend their lives and property with cricket and baseball bats during riots, the UK government appears intent on wiping out any remaining vestiges of the traditional right to self-defense. Wed like to say that we wont allow ourselves to be shocked by the next ludicrous episode from across the pond, but history shows theyll somehow manage to astound.
I know some here are not fans of the NRA, but please keep comments relevant to the article.
Thanks.
What about pointed sticks?
Looking like the world is asymptoting to Monty Python
Send a postcard to the police department describing your allegations of rape and wait 4-6 weeks for response.
Bump.
Police are just protecting the muzzie attackers!
There is a British version of eBay and during the London riots I was watching in real time the bidding process on American baseball bats:
Each baseball bat was fetching more than $400.
Subjects tell UK police Not to Harm Their Attackers - good for the goose, good for the gander.
They built their own paradise island.
Now let them enjoy it.
Ain't happening without a major incident.
Incredible.
I wonder if the defender could get off by claiming he attacked the dead criminal?
I couldn't agree more!
Englishmen who still retain use of their testicles should move to Texas. Here, if you are attacked you can use any means to protect yourself that you like. Feel free to empty a magazine of 9mm into his or her face, blast their head off with a load of buckshot, or gut them like a perch with a bowie knife. We will applaud your actions...unless you are in one of the demonrat infested urban area like Austin, or Houston.
Who was that Conservative Texas Gubernatorial candidate who got crushed by Liberal Ann Richards after saying that rape victims shouldn’t fight back but lay back and try to enjoy it?
Whoa, I don’t remember that one.
“Don’t harm your attacker?”
That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Kill your attacker so that you can mount his head on a pole in your front yard as a warning to others who might consider becoming an attacker.
Sounds like you guys are big on the idea of “proportionate response” - I like that. :=)

I am sorry, but rapists deserve a special treatment involving a shotgun, and a call to some guys to finish the job with pliers and a blowtorch
