Who came out against Facebook’s rainbow flags?

It was wildly popular, but not everybody likes Facebook’s pro-gay marriage photo filter—it’s prompted a backlash in Russia and across the Arab world.

If you went on Facebook over the weekend you may have seen friends’ profile pictures turned multicolored. Maybe you even tinted your own pic. A rainbow filter tool was introduced by the company after last week’s landmark Supreme Court decision which cleared the way for same-sex marriage across the US. But in some areas of the world, the response to the initiative was less than enthusiastic—and even downright hostile.

In Russia, several filters were created which splash the colours of national flags rather than rainbow banners across a picture. One such app has been downloaded more than 4,000 times. “Our response to the rainbow world ‪#‏Proudtoberussian,” said one typical comment by Moscow resident Elena Starkova. […]

In the Middle East, many social media users also came out strongly against the rainbow flag. “It’s a message that it hurts me,” said Egyptian Twitter user Sharif Najm, while Rami Isa from Syria tweeted: “Damn you and your marriage. You have distorted our innocent childhood [symbol]; we used to like the rainbow.” Ahmad Abd-Rabbuh, an Egyptian political science professor, said that gay marriage “is not in harmony with society and culture.” …

And the words “gay” and “pride” have been hijacked by the homosexuals.

When’s the last time you heard anyone use the word “gay” according to its dictionary definition??

And “pride” is similarly hijacked. There were many stories last weekend about “pride” parades and celebrations around the country. But they didn’t indicate who was proud and what they were celebrating. News people simply reported that the “pride” celebration was happening as one of a number of community events.

I’m sure the DNC now has a copy of the names of people who fell for this.

I dumped a few too, after that “love charade”

I was a bit surprised at who participated, and a bit sad as some of them were old friends.

but hey....better no friends, than the wrong friends....FB aside.

Yes I did see "friends" with their pictures and that stupid rainbow color scheme on them.

I promptly un-friended them both on Facebook and in real life. Don't want to know people who are that stupid.

So stay away from politics. Also, stay away from all the clickbait links. Particularly the “what kind of dog are you?” style surveys. Those are used to build out very detailed personality profiles of you.

Best thing to do on Facebook:

1. Run Firefox.

2. Install FB Purity (Fluff Busting Purity) along with FireFox.

3. Enjoy FB without all the ads and stupid surveys. Customize FB Purity so you see ONLY what you want to see on FB.

It blocks ALL ads. What better way than to consume FB's resources without seeing ads and other stupidity? Deny them the "clicks" and "eyes" on ads.

If moslems are so horrified by this ruling, where are all the American moslem organizations (CAIR, etc.) who constitute such a huge base of support for Obama?

I don't recall hearing a single word from any of them.

Seems like a corollary to Isaiah 5:20, where along with the other things they do, they put shame for pride and pride for shame.
