It was wildly popular, but not everybody likes Facebook’s pro-gay marriage photo filter—it’s prompted a backlash in Russia and across the Arab world.
If you went on Facebook over the weekend you may have seen friends’ profile pictures turned multicolored. Maybe you even tinted your own pic. A rainbow filter tool was introduced by the company after last week’s landmark Supreme Court decision which cleared the way for same-sex marriage across the US. But in some areas of the world, the response to the initiative was less than enthusiastic—and even downright hostile.
In Russia, several filters were created which splash the colours of national flags rather than rainbow banners across a picture. In the Middle East, many social media users also came out strongly against the rainbow flag. “It’s a message that it hurts me,” said Egyptian Twitter user Sharif Najm, while Rami Isa from Syria tweeted: “Damn you and your marriage. I used to say to my teen ager when she and her friends used to come home with rainbow socks and flags, that isn’t is nice that they are were wearing God’s promise.
It annoyed them, my aim in life.
I’ve heard that Facebook uses the info from these apps to find out who will jump onto the bandwagon, and for how long. Sexual politics aside, I would rather not let FB that far into my head.
Some of my family members, not gay , did the rainbow thing with the avitar. I figured the best thing to do was ignore it.
Kinda like what they forced the Jews to do in the 30’s, only now they do it willingly.
Facebook I use mostly for discussions of dogs and music. I try to stay away from politics as much as I can there.

I can imagine in an updated movie on Sodom and Gomorah, God tells Abraham he’s he’s going to destroy the cities unless he can find 50 righteous people. Abraham goes on FaceBook and frantically searches everyone’s profile, but they all have a rainbow on their profile photo.
A freeper the other day pointed out that the fag flag has six colors (6 is also the number of man), while God’s rainbow has 7 colors - 7 being in reference to perfection. (The fag flag is missing indigo). Interesting observation - might even be intentional.
Very selective on FB. 1 out of 197 friends turned rainbow, and he lasted less than 48 hours.

The Jews do. We have to say a certain blessing each time we see a rainbow. I can’t remember it right now because it doesn’t rain much here, lol. We do remember Gd’s promise.
