FACT: Liberals are deluded, and insist the rest of us join in their delusions.
Then world be healed.
So He would approve of gaymosexual behavior? Abortion for profit? He associated with many sinners but He did not condone the sins. Every knee shall bow....
Have they consulted Jesus about this?
The main problem here in this world is there's never been enough unselfish widespread LOVE to see it through.
Capitalism, coupled with enough conservative, constitutional conservatism along with charity (also a form of love) has done more to elevate mankind than anything else in all the world's history!!!
Those who thik they are “Socialist Liberals’ are in fact RW fascists.
Since Plato’s “Republic” predates Christ, if Christ wanted Communism, he would have mentioned it.
20. And he (Jesus) saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21. They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
Leftists only render unto Caesar ( holy govt) but they shut God out and dont render anything unto Him.
If Jesus was a socialist, He would not have taught us to help the poor. He would have petitioned the Romans to do it.
They rejected God and then they created a god in their own image.
As a result I have less of a problem with religious organizations or members of the clergy, for example, getting credit for charitable work than seeing a politician or a political party getting credit.
The early church shared their goods and resources with those in need. It was not the government via taxations. Unbelievers were not forced to give unlike by modern government extortion of taxes to redistribute wealth. This is where the leftists totally miss the mark about Jesus teachings.
Oh yeh— Jesus was a carpenter from a small business. In other words you socialists— he worked for a living.
Heh.
Errrr! Monarchy!
1) When one studies the Bible as a whole - focusing in foundational principles rather than on verses take out of context - it is much more supportive of an economic system respecting private property and the work ethic (see especially Is.65:21-2 and Jer. 32:43-44).For example, Ps.112 describes a gracious, compassionate, righteous man. We are told that "wealth and riches are in his house" (verse 3) and that he is generous, conducting "his affairs with justice" (verse 5). We are further told, "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be lifted high in honor" (verse 9). Paul quotes this verse in 2 Cor. 9:9 in his message about giving, clearly indicating that personal wealth should not be condemned but seen as a blessing that allows for generosity.
2) Also private ownership and stewardship of property is assumed to be the proper state of affairs throughout the Bible (Deu. 8; Ruth 2: Is 65:21-22; Jer. 32:42-44; Mic. 4:1-4; Luke 12:13-15; Acts 5:1-4; Eph. 4:28;
Well, alrighty then. So they should have no problem when Jesus’ admonition to go and sin no more is invoked.
And I suppose He is a sodomite too?
Just wait until they find out He was Jewish.
As a socialist he would have said that the ruler should share with the citizenry and take from the rich men to give to the poor. I have not found those sayings in my Gospels. He had a lot to say about how individuals should think and act. Socialism does not think or operate in the category of individuals. Jesus did not speak to economic systems at all. It is up to the individual to repent and come to God whatever the social and economic systems and whatever his station in life.
From an apologetics standpoint, I think it is definitely worth noting that Jesus defended women in a time when that wasn’t the norm, clearly stood up for the poor, and reserved his harshest words for those who oppressed and were judgemental. He told his followers to help the poor, not just the poor who “deserve” it. As an avid, small-government conservative, I believe this is best done privately of course, bit it saddens me that many lost souls don’t see that so many classical liberal ideas originated from the God-man that they mock or ignore. I do worry that a small part of the accountability lies in the way Christians interact with non-believers who do not possess the indwelling Holy Spirit, and cannot possibly have the discernment or moral empowerment that only the Third Person of the Trinity provides. We must pray and witness to save their souls first, and their politics will take care of themselves, I think.
That said, the assertion that Christ is a modern liberal socialist is complete rubbish, and those peddling this know it in all but a few cases. Most do not accept His divinity and seek only to twist his words like they twist any truth that they come in contact with.
The fact is, Jesus Christ largely ignored the petty politics of human governments of His time on Earth, as did the Apostle Paul. As much as it might sound odd coming from an avid proponent of constitutional republic, the Savior is not called the “President of Presidents” any more than the “Czar of Czars” or whatever a socialist might call him. He IS the King of Kings. I suppose His politics tend toward monarchy in that sense...
