Why Megyn Kelly was the big loser in the Trump debate
Coach is Right ^ | 8/13/15 | Suzanne Eovaldi

Posted on 08/13/2015 10:02:46 AM PDT by Oldpuppymax

Megyn Kelly lost her debate with Donald Trump because she breached one immutable rule of journalism, falling for one of the oldest tricks in the book that men use to win. That is, Kelly, as a “journalist,” allowed herself to become the story. In fact she now is a huge part of the drama. J-skul students are warned about this big time No-No by wily and savvy professors who preach over and over, be objective, stay out of it, be impartial, don’t get involved!

In addition, Kelly let the men use her, something any woman who has ever been around any union negotiations recognizes early on. A Chicago area, female unionist told me one time after a very contentious three month teachers’ strike that the men disappeared for the marching, the protests in the parking lots and the face to face confrontations. When the street theatre ended and the drama played itself out, the men on both sides, the administrators and the union leaders (all men by the way) came in, sat down, carved up the pie, passed around their goodies, got up, shook hands, and left the room.

Look, Kelly was chosen by FOX corporate to do their hit job on Donald Trump because they and the Rino establishment want Jeb Clinton in the Oval Office, IMHO. Donald Trump’s experience, intelligence, wealth, his manly strength, decisiveness, discernment and understanding of the political power structure in this country are enormous existential threats to those who need Hillary Bush or Jeb Clinton elected! And Hillary’s E-mail scandals have resonated with the public as Benghazi and the IRS flap never did.

So here’s what went on. Kelly was placed stage center in front of and in direct eye contact with the one man in the room these machinists fear...

"As far as I am concerned, Kelly did a good job and if Trump could not answer the questions now then how do you think he would answer them later when the MSM hounds were unleashed on him. As much as I like him as an individual, Trump needs to come prepared for these sessions and answer the questions appropriately."

If Megyn Motormouth had done a "good job" her first question:

"You've called women you don't like "fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals ..."

... would have been ...

"Why did you call Rosie O'Donnell a fat pig ..."

The corrupt journalism should jump right out at you just by comparing those two wasy of asking the question. Moreover, she purposely inverted the actual event from Trump DEFENDING multiple women ( those in his family and those in the Miss America pageant attacked by the beastly Rosie O'Donnell ) into Trump attacking all women on planet Earth. It's tantamount to turning a fireman into a house wrecker because he broke through the wall, or a Doctor into a ghoul for amputating your leg.

So what might have happened if she had asked the question honestly: "Why did you call Rosie O'Donnell a fat pig ..."? I'll tell you what would have happened. He would have won the election right there by saying something like this: "Because Megyn, anyone who comes at me or my family, or disparages the women of the Miss America pageant better expect me to kick their ass. And as President you better believe that anyone that attacks the American people or our Armed Forces will be crushed!"

Listen to the actual exchanges on The View as reported by Mark Levin, because the context is everything. To answer your original statement, I suspect he *will* now be prepared for that kind of an ambush. I am not sure the media and Megyn defenders are going to like what they have unleashed.

One more note, despite their ongoing feud, Trump did back down when Rosie got cancer. By all reports I have heard, Trump is actually a sweet guy in real life, so I believe he simply did not want to hammer Rosie again at this late point. This last fact is probably what Megyn Motormouth was counting on and she saw an opportunity to paint Trump as a misogynist with no chance of repercussions.

I wonder if everyone defending Megyn Motormouth feels the same way about Dan Rather.

As far as I am concerned, Kelly did a good job and if Trump could not answer the questions now then how do you think he would answer them later when the MSM hounds were unleashed on him.

That's all fine and dandy, but why bother calling the event a "debate", if what it is really just a grill session. Additionally, why have the other candidates there if questions are going to be directed at one candidate that have NOTHING to do with the other candidates.

I'll give you an example of what a real debate might sound like:

MODERATOR: Gentlemen, here is the next question: unemployment has sat at 11% for the last few years. What is your plan to change that? First up, Mr. Green. (later) Mr. Brown, how do you respond to Mr. Green?

Here's what we actually got:

"MODERATOR": Mr. Trump, why do you call women whores? Mr. Cruz, do you hear God talking to you?

There is no way any reasonable person could call this event a "debate". Frankly, it was a grilling session of all the candidates, but some were given real questions and some were given snarky attack questions out of left field. Kelly has a talk show where she can do this sort of attack "journalism" all she wants, but a debate is supposed to be a debate. The concept really is quite simple.

Also, limiting candidates to ONE FREAKING MINUTE to answer any and all questions, even those that were reasonable, was a joke. Nothing substantial can be said in one minute. This event was a joke from start to finsh, nothing but reality TV for the thought-impaired.

I liked to watch Megyn every night. Usually I watched on another TV in the house when my wife would take over the big screen TV. She is not the political junkie like I am.

One night she walked in while I had Megyn on and my wife said, “She (Megyn) should not wear sleeveless dresses. She looks slutty.” That totally changed my impression of MK and other female news anchors.

I haven’t watched FOX for a couple of years.
I did tune into the debate because I wanted to hear Cruz specifically. When I heard the very first question as a pledge to the Party, I was stunned. Not the question you lead off with, IMVHO.

Then when Megyn Kelly started in on Trump, I was furious.
I don’t mind those types of questions being asked, but it was the tone and manner in which they were presented. The evident glee of M Kelly questioning Trump was more akin to a KGB inquisition than a serious debate.
In the debate, and the days following, she has shown herself to be a petulant child of gender entitlement. She began playing the gender game in the after debate summary show.
Evidently poor Megyn believes she rose to her position on ability alone.
Her actions since have shown that to be patently false.

Even the “format” chosen by TPTB at Fox greatly diminished the opportunity for the public to learn anything of real value from the candidates.

Fox intentionally steered their ship into the iceberg.
The rats will eventually jump ship as the media is always looking for an attack dog, but the SS Fox has severely damaged itself.

"It takes decades to build a reputation and seconds to lose it all."

Exactly. The media has gotten far too powerful, and evil. They have enjoyed the ability to run someone out of the race and deprive the voters of their choice over a single word.

A great man with a promising future became America's loss thanks to the media and probably the corrupt (R)epublicrat establishment ...

Man, if I only knew then what Trump knows now!

Your wife is right. I can understand sleevless in the summer, but those Fox women wear them when there is a blizzard raging outside. It seems that the more skin they show, the higher the ratings.

The thing about Kelly that made people even madder later was when you investigated the source of what you said you found it was twisted and taken out of context to make Trump look in the worst light.

Also spent 40 minutes not talking to Cruz which pissed me off.

People...yes, people like you and me reacted irrationally just because she picked on one of “our guys” If she had picked on a liberal....she would be our hero. She was simply doing her job.

Speak for yourself. If you're happy with a grade-school level of discourse, then have at it, but I would have been disgusted with these media whores either way. In fact, I AM always disgusted with these media whores. I haven't paid for any type of TV in at least ten years because everything on TV is crap, including these "debates". I had to go to Youtube to see what the fuss was about.

Martha McCallum is great and did a fine job at the debate. Toss Candy Kelly and let Martha in.

Rupert Murdoch turned Fox News over to his sons and they are trashing the business already. Very sad.

I think I agree with you about 51%. I want Trump to, as you say, come prepared to answer hard questions, as long as everybody else gets the same treatment.

My remaining 49 though is that the question came at the sound of the bell, was directed at Trump first (why?), was over the top snarky and Megyn’s tone and body language were dripping “I got ya now you male chauvinist pig”.

Notwithstanding any of the foregoing, I like Megyn. She normally is an agressive questioner except on gay and women’s issues and I think she leans right.

Finally, questions to Jeb were decidedly milder, in my opinion.

Completely wrong.

This was a huge win for her as she’s likely to land NBCCBSABC anchor gig in the future. Those gigs pay
$100 million+.

Despite its high cable ratings, the pay at Fox is small
change by comparison.

Very true.
Nice bit of leftist work by Kelly.

The silencing of Cruz had to be intentional.
Bush and the GOP power brokers know if they let Ted get a head of steam he will become another runaway train to deal with.
They prefer to destroy Trump while leaving Ted talking to himself.

It won’t work because when he *does* get the opportunity to speak he *shines*.

I thought it unprofessional that Megyn spent 2 nights the week before on allegations stemming from Trumps divorce. This was after Ivana Trump stated allegations were not true. Even Bill O’Riley stated on his show that journalists reporting on this story after Ivana Trump said it was not true were practicing yellow journalism. I quit watching her show the week before the debate.

As to Megan’s questions during the debate, I was less offended. They offered Trump the opportunity to present himself in a better light by his answers. He is whining too much.

I almost agree with you. When it comes to right and wrong,
Schmegyn made a highly unethical choice for a supposed journalist. People...yes, people like you and me are allowed to distinguish between right and wrong based on, in this case, a code of journalistic ethics; and our reaction was not irrational by any means. We are right to react strongly and call her out in attempt to correct a wrongful situation. The issue lingers because she refuses to own up to what she really did.
Remember, Nazi war criminals asserted the defense that “I was only following orders,” which is akin to “doing her job.” She doesn’t get a pass for abandoning principles in favor of ratings, being a tool of the GOPe high rollers, looking hot on TV or for any other reason.

Yeah, I’m no biggie boycott type, but the only thing I’ve seen at Fox since the debate was one of Greta’s shows. Not boycotting, just have zero interest to watch, same reason I don’t watch CNN or MSNBC. I wonder how many are like me and are quietly walking away? We are spending more time with Amazon Prime and thinking about Amazon Fire which now has One America News...that’s all I need. That’ll save a few bucks.

We need to remember that Megyn is much closer to the UniParty than she wants us to think...conservative she is not!

Her ego got so big with her high ratings that she thought she was invincible with her viewers as she is with her liberal peers at Fox and liberal “professional” friends at CNN and the Washington Post. Not so much with her fans.

Conservatives despise JUST THAT kind of leftist femenazi attack behavior used against conservatives/Republican men in politics that Megan displayed. Even if viewers were not for Trump, they hate femenazi behavior being used in a power play like that. It is unforgivable to wreck an important Republican Presidential debate with that dirtball college campus stuff. Real women (and feminist women are not real women) don’t act like that.

I’ve worked in professional business, medical and science circles all my working career making deals in and between men and women as a private contractor. I’ve had sexist men grab at my body and say inappropriate things very few times in my career. A professional woman handles sexist problems as they occur with equal energy to the offense. It’s not pretty. Normal women don’t build an anti-male, female victim ideology around weirdos. I don’t consider men looking at me as an offense. That is what normal men do. I look at handsome men, too. That is what normal women do.

I was raised by a Naval Officer and that was my “feminist” training. It’s pretty dang shocking and mean, but then it’s over. I bet a lot of men are sexist to Megyn because she plays the part of a vixen. She’s like a female black widow.
