Clear Sign Trump Wants 'Out': Put Up or Shut Up
The Huffington Post's Entertainment The Blog ^ | October 7, 2015 | Paul Abrams

Spending nary a dime, Donald Trump has leapfrogged a large field of presidential wannabees to take a commanding lead in the race for the Republican nomination for president.

Anyone in that position who had unlimited financial resources and who truly wanted to win the nomination would have already unleashed wall-to-wall ads in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, and would be assembling a massive ground-game in those states.

Why? Because if Trump won those primaries convincingly, it would be all over but the shouting.

Such a candidate would also be fielding ads and building organization in the compressed March 1-15th states where delegates will be handed out proportionally to build an uncatchable lead.

No one else can do this because they are donor-dependent and the donors want to see evidence of feasibility in early states to hedge their bets.

But, the Donald's only donor is himself. And, it does not seem that himself is taking the Donald's candidacy seriously enough to invest.

Two hundred million deployed now could wrap it all up for him....

Trump should hire Paul Abrams immediately as his campaign manager.

Every news source today has him dropping out today. Hmm, sort of makes you wonder if they were all given the same orders.

Efficient use of resources does not equal apathy.

Not being donor dependent has really confused “traditional pundits”, and they are a prime example of why Mr. Trump has a great chance to win the nomination.

He’s “playing” by a fundamentally different set of rules, and is getting outstanding results. He’s still feeling his way, but he’s easily getting free “exposure” from the MSM and he’s had no reason to follow “traditional” tactics up to this point.

A very fun cycle this time around, IMO.

When a primary candidate is packing 20,000 seat venues with a couple of days notice I don’t think ground game will be a problem.

It’s amazing how the media pimp the story that it’s all about your ad buys.

Lots of FReepers seem to believe it, too. Look at all the “See how much money Ted Cruz raised last month” threads.

Where I live, people are ready to vote tomorrow.

Waaaah!

Trump isn’t playing politics by the common rules created by the media and our collective understanding.

He must be desperate since he is far-and-away in front?

What a maroon.

I didn’t click through but the lead-in was plenty. I love reading this stuff, it’s hysterical!

The media has been Trump’s huge microphone for free, how great is that?! They can’t stop talking about him or they lose money.

Trump has turned the country upside down with less money than Michelle spends on a 4 day vacation.

LOL.....I am a Cruz guy for the primary, but if these libs asked themselves why Trump would bother expending resources when he does not need to, maybe they might understand the mystery.

Tomorrow, 10/8/15 is the halfway point between the announcement date, and the Iowa caucus date. 115 days since the announcement. 115 days until the Iowa caucus. We are halfway through the swamp of the talk stage. I am ready for people to vote.

Fox News reported he spent $2 mil. Don’t think that included jet fuel.

Trump has spent less than two days pay on his campaign so far. He makes over a million a day or 400 million a year.

This is actually even funnier than it at first appears.

We’re constantly hearing the talking heads and chattering classss bemoaning the influence of big money in out elections. Now, we have someone who has shown how it is done on a shoestring budget. Now you have media morons moaning about how he’s not spending money. I wonder why that is. Could it have something to do with the fact that the primary beneficiary to insane campaign spending it, in fact, the media themselves?

This is something most folks dont think about, but if the media really wanted to gdo away with the advantage that money gives a campaign, they’d be offering free radio, television, and newspaper ads to candidates. Notice how that never actually happens?

“And it has all been at very little personal expense to him. Oh, he has to show up, but he NEVER fails to deliver.”

Very little cost personal expense?

My point is simple: his aircraft has an operating cost of $13,000 per hour+/- and I’m certain he’s done about 200 hours in it since the start of this campaign. That’s $2,600,000 of his personal money plus security, meals, hotels, ground transport and venue rental.

I’m for Trump or Cruz. Trump is spending his hard earned cash, and a lot of it!

O...M...G...how pathetic. So sad for these jackals.

Trump held an energetic rally in Iowa today and delivered the best performance yet. AND HE CLEARLY STATED THAT ADS WERE NOT NEEDED NOW BECAUSE HE’S ALL OVER THE NEWS MEDIA AND ....

A TRUMP AD NOW WOULD MAKE EVERYONE “OD ON TRUMP”! Lol!

So what’s all this jabberwocky about? Is it disappointment that AD agencies are not getting their season’s business? Is that it?

I can imagine that political media agencies have been preparing for a year for the election season’s media blitz from so many candidates and now that a media champion is ripping their plans to shreds the only thing they got left is a prayer that he will drop out!
