A family in Colorado video a bear attacking a deer in their backyard. What would you all do? Here's the video clip.

I was about to say the same thing

It’s just nature, but it’s nature too close to residences.

What would it have attacked if that dear was not around.

That makes a lot of sense to me.

I am not a gun person and I am curious if the deer would die too if a shot gun is used?

“I would have got my 12 gauge and shot the bear until dead. Not because I care about the deer and not because I care that the bear caught a deer. But because if that bear isn’t afraid enough of me or my house and would attack a deer in my backyard then he’s probably not going to feel to bad about attacking me, my wife or any other member of my family.”

I was going to say “He’s a bear, he has a right to kill deer and I certainly have no legal standing to shoot him.” Your response is logical, but I can’t see how it’s legal. Legally, you can’t shoot him for being in your yard, knocking over your garbage can or even attacking your pets. If you went out and tried to drive him off the kill, it seems to me there would be a good chance he would go for you and then you could legally shoot him but then you would have to explain why you were out there bothering him in the first place. Since he killed that deer without breaking any laws does that make the deer his property?

Unless its bear season and you had a tag let nature take its course. You would be breaking the law if you interfered.

While I agree with you, it's sad that we've digressed to that state in this country. As recently as 100 years ago, this would be considered a blessing and would feed a large family for a month.

My thought to! Why let the bear have all that venison. Plus how would you like it if that eats one of your kids, you, or a neighbor? Bang! Bang! Clean up on isle 3!

Colorado? The roads are strewn with dead deer and elk carcasses. Let the bear kill it, and then share the meat.

We would applaud as our excess deer population would be one less.

Dead Bear.

While I’m okay with the Circle of Life, I am not okay with a bear dining so close to the home.

A bear’s gotta eat, too. Besides, I’d rather this than him raiding my garbage!

It says the video was taken in Colorado. It’s not legal here. Seems really, really stupid but LOTS of laws in Colorado are really, really stupid.

Shoot them both, skin them, freeze what meat you can, and bury the bones. it’s YOUR backyard! the bear is already smelling blood, so you are protecting you and your’s.
