During the October 11 airing of Meet the Press, host Chuck Todd asked Democrat presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) where he stands on allowing shooting victims to sue gun manufacturers. Sanders made it clear that he is opposed to holding gun store owners liable, but he believes there is room to hold manufacturers liable to some degree.
Todds question was based on the fact that Sanders voted for the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), which President George W. Bush signed into law in 2005.
Holding gun manufacturers liable because a crime has been committed with a weapon made at their place of business? Thankfully, the(PLCAA) was written and passed to protect manufacturers and retail sellers of firearms from lawsuits anticipated by liberal politicians for the obvious purpose of ending the sale of guns and ammunition throughout the nation.
Bernie Sanders, the only admitted Marxist in the 2016 race for the White House, has decided that filing suit against the little guyowners of small gun storesisnt fair. Interesting how Bernie and other members of the far left have come to decide what the American people may do, say, believe and even how they should be permitted to earn a living based upon the definition these celestial beings apply to the word fair!
Gun manufacturers, however, should bear the cost and responsibility connected with any misuse of their products. Its only fair. But Bernie failed to mention whether Sears may be sued...

So, do car manufacturers have to get blamed when some idiot kills another person during a road rage incident? Or maybe McDonalds when someone dies of heart failure due to clogged arteries?
Flatware makers are responsible for over eating.
Tort Lawyers will celebrate. Open those deep pockets!
Well then, Obama needs to be held accountable for drug deals and other mayhem arranged on free obamaphones.
Actually, I recall reading when the idea was floated that fast food purveyors should be sued for people being overweight and having things like clogged arteries.
the loaded gun on my counter at home never turned itself around and shot me. I was looking at it the other day thinking this exact thing.
ITs just that simple.
Try to convince the atheist that God exists.
We have a ton of gun laws on the books....
Gun manufacturers are NOT the problem, it’s the people that are suppose to be entering the data in the NCIC so when there are gun back ground checks done, they are actuate...
Put the blame where blames goes, on the people that are suppose to be doing their jobs!!!
Yeah, and if someone uses a knife to kill someone is the flatware company liable? If a baseball bat is used, is the manufacturer liable, etc.
Then Mr. Sanders is responsible for all crimes that occurred while he was in charge and needs to be jailed.
It’s only fair.
When legislators are personally liable for their ‘laws’:
- Raising property taxes to pay for NCLB that fails to improve student learning/scores
- Lawyers/judges for their revolving door policy on immigration/crime
Then, MAYBE then, I’ll think it over for the 2nd Amendment; but probably NOT.
It's not about "preventing crime".
It's not about "holding manufacturers accountable".
It's about disarming YOU (yes, YOU PERSONALLY), so that leftist government can do bad things to YOU (yes, YOU PERSONALLY).
Gun control is all about converting citizens of a free republic into subjects of a vile tyranny.
Democrats need to be held accountable when people on welfare commit crimes.
Spoons don’t make you fat. The manufacturer of the spoons does.
Then shouldn’t we hold democrats accountable for all the crimes committed by the violent, angry, illiterate, dependent class they created and nurture?
Politicians need to be held accountable for all the trouble they cause while in office
No more airplanes, cars, knives, or pointy sticks either.
Yes I saw that thing with Sanders and I thought good luck with than one Bernie. :-)
