Trump or Cruz: Which Revolution will it Be?
Conservative Review ^ | 2015-11-30 | Steve Deace

Posted on 11/30/2015 6:25:28 PM PST by parksstp

often come away from the conservative/Christian conferences I’ve attended around the country with the feeling that we’re trying to drive the car by hitting the gas and the brakes at the exact same time.

Although I have met many wonderful people at those events, and received no shortage of inspiration from the speeches I have heard, there is also a shadow that looms over everything. This shadow taunts us with visions of an army, whose soldiers run away or whose weapons jam right at the very moment in the fight when resolve and execution matter most.

My candidate doesn’t insult supporters. You insult us for supporting him, low, dirty tactics that don’t win your candidate any points.

btw, damn shame that people like you have reduced us to saying “your candidate” like we have to fight each other, damn shame.

"who the real conservative voters are"

Time has past many by.

"Conservative" vs "Liberal"....

The situation is much graver for this country now than engaging in such worn out ideological battles.

The situation now is totally, and unequivocally, about SAVING THIS COUNTRY and WHO CAN DO THE BEST JOB THE QUICKEST to SAVE THIS RAPIDLY SINKING SHIP!

Once again, you Trumpsters dodge around this comment:

“The Donald can bring in Democrats and Independents - I don’t think Cruz could bring in any Democrats, and I think some are needed.”

Please answer WHY?

WHY would Donald Trump bring in more Democrats and Independents? Do you honestly believe that it’s because they want and UNDERSTAND conservative principles such as low taxes, border security, pro-constitution, and etc, etc, etc? Or is it more that they look at him and think that “Hey man, that Donald’s a cool guy, he’s gonna look out for the little guy” with no other rationale?

And this is different from the low-info masses that pulled the lever for Obama thinking life would be great how?

Here’s another question. How do you think Reagan got Reagan Democrats and non-conservatives to vote for him? I’ll give you a hint: it’s the SAME method that Cruz wants to use to attract these voters: EDUCATION ON THE ISSUES and TRUST.

I’ve shown Reagan’s 81 Economic Address to non-conservatives who have UNDERSTOOD and reasoned what Reagan was trying to do and figured out for themselves that it made sense. Now who would be better able to give a speech like this, Trump or Cruz, honestly?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8cF2S4QO_w

Cruz has employed the same method when talking with the enemy such as Code Pink. I guarantee you that on the day this confrontation happened that someone in that audience had their eyes opened to the truth for the first time and have probably started to break away from the liberal thinking. THIS is what it takes.

Exactly! If we get districted, we lose.

Trump wants to secure the borders, enforce the law, end anchor babies, end sanctuary cities, build a wall, deport them all, secure the borders, secure the nation, including sending the refugees back!

No one is better at border security, national security than Trump.

Sounds pretty damn conservative to me.

Want to talk about cutting taxes, cutting spending, cutting regulations, cutting government, cutting cronyism, cutting corruption, growing the economy, putting our people back to work, making America great again?

Trump does. And he sounds pretty damn conservative to me.

Want to defend God, family, guns, country? Want to build the greatest military ever so no one dares mess with us?

Trump does. And he sounds pretty damn conservative to me.

Want to build a coalition including conservatives, capitalists, blue collar workers, veterans, gun owners, religious people, minorities, freedom-loving Americans of every stripe?

Trump does. And he’s doing it. And that sounds pretty damn conservative to me!

Reagan Revolution meet the Trump Revolution.

No excuses for the tone. None needed.

If another Cruz supporter talks down to me as a conservative voting for Trump..Well...if that’s their plan it’s not going to work

That is exactly why I want TRUMP first....he is the bulldozer and will clean house and pave the way for CRUZ to have his 4 years. Who can be against that combo?

We can sure use 16 years of peaceful nights knowing we finally have ADULTS in charge....

I truly like CRUZ best, but since I feel certain that TRUMP will bring CRUZ on board as VP, I am perfectly willing to let that happen. Cruz will then choose another conservative to be his VP...

We all need to stop criticizing either men, they are both GREAT men who have AMERICA's best interest at heart. I hate it when Trump people feel the Cruz people are bashing Trump and vice versa, they are both on the same page as all of us. We have an election to win, get on board with both.

Problem for me is i’ve no evidence Trump has walked the talk. Sounding conservative is one thing, alot of the candidates sound conservative in the primary’s, then reverse course...for me I’ll stick with Cruz who’s proven he is a true conservative and backed the talk up many many times.

Well lets remember that Steve Deace has endorse Cruz. He has a stake in making sure he does not end up with egg on his face.

Truth be told Cruz and Rubio are slugging it out for a distant 2nd place while Trump cruises to the finish line. His speech in Macon, GA tonight was more looking forward to the general election. He’s about got the nomination wrapped up.

“Now that Cruz has risen to the top 2, we're finally going to find out who the real conservative voters are and whether or not the real conservative voters are outnumbered by the pseduo-conservatives. “

That's great if all you care about is conservatism. I'm more concerned about taking this country back from the progressive jerks, and sticking a fork in their PC eyes, and the RINO's too. I've supported Cruz financially, the only candidate to date, but when push comes to shove I'll advocate for Trump over Cruz. Why? Because he's an anathema to the left. He is everything they hate. Cruz is a close 2nd, mind you, in that category, but not A#1, Trump is because he calls them out, lacks etiquette and couth, and most importantly, gets coverage and fights back. While I care greatly about Cruz, I liken Cruz to Trump as I do Carson to Cruz, a nice guy, but not in these times of reestablishing this republic. This is all out war, and I'm not hiring the 2nd best lawyer (figuratively) to get the job done. Reagan was an actor, but right for the times. Trump is one too, and also right for the times. IMHO. How much better would Ted Cruz be as a President if he had four years being the apprentice to Donald Trump?

Watch much TV, do you?

Need I remind you that the History Channel is the MSM. It doesn't make stuff up out of whole cloth, what it tells you is factually true, but its context is spun. Donald Trump has worked at making himself a celebrity and he has marketed a branded image of "brilliant businessman" via the MSM.

I expect the History channel also talks about the five deferments he got for avoiding Viet Nam, and probably lightly or quizzically reviews his three political party switches in the past 26 years. It's all about The Donald.

Man. :^(

Calm down, the rhetoric of candidates supporters, doesn’t equal what the candidate themselves stand for.

I like Cruz over Trump, but it is on issues.

Please take the time to evaluate the candidates on your own, whether that be over substance, who can win, etc.

Secure the borders, secure the nation, enforce the laws. That’s all getting back to the constitution. Cut the government, cut the spending, cut the taxes, cut the regulations. That’s getting back to the constitution. Defend God, family, country, liberty, revitalize America, our economy and put people back to work. That’s also getting back to the constitution.

When we abide by the constitution and get government out of the way, we’re making America great again. There’s no other way.

Did you see the program? It had the good and the bad. Pretty balanced coverage. Surprising. If it had any bias, it was the little guy with the moustache “analyst” who ripped him at every opportunity.

Our demographics have changed and anyone who refuses to see that is either naive or plain stupid. Even Reagan couldn’t win today.

We lost our schools, public, parochial, and private. If you don’t think the liberals/communists/globalists haven’t infiltrated our schools to the degree that nothing else matters, then I don’t know what else to say.

We lost the Media/Entertainment. Every News show, every comedy, every drama, every movie promotes the liberal/democrat agenda. Every single one.

We are losing our Churches...most are liberal or liberal bent or the extreme opposite which is no better.

Even in my house, which is conservative religiously and everywhere else for the most part, has a slant on some issues.

Have you seen what the school curriculum is? It has changed so much over the years but especially since 2010. Yeah it’s great to homeschool or otherwise isolate oneself but that’s just a tiny percentage that won’t make a difference. And, the standardized tests (SAT, ACT) have changed so much that even those kids who don’t attend public/private/parochial schools will be hindered just as much as the rest. The public schools, and in most states that affects private and parochial schools, curriculum is so anti american and anti individual/success but I don’t see a mass of parents protesting any of this. A small group here and there but mostly nothing.

Do people know what is being taught in their children’s history, English, and now science and math classes? Do people know what their K-5 children are being taught that’s in the curriculum?

It started in high school, then they realized the high school students weren’t buying it so they moved it to middle school and once they realized middle schoolers weren’t buying it they went to elementary students then finally they went to early elementary where they could control the message. And what did our side do? Either take their ball and go home or say they’d handle it at home (where media picked up the slack). We are losing the Culture War.

I taught history before I had my kids and became a SAHM. Then I taught History/social studies and now I teach accelerated math (high school algebra to 8th grade accelerated students) and pre algebra to accelerated 7th graders and esl for a student in 5th grade (teaching him basic english for reading and writing). The other half of my day I aide as a Teacher Assistant (since I’m a certified teacher) for special ed kids. In every subject/content area it’s all liberal meme all the time. I can bypass it in Algebra and Pre Algebra for the most part but I have to prepare them for the exams and that entails teaching the liberal curriculum.

For example, our new midterm, since we don’t do midterms anymore (or finals this year) is a Progress Assessment which is really telling the kids to go with the low energy, electric car which is better for the environment - seriously...that will get them the better grade on the exam, ooops progress assessment (exam and test are bad words).

The SATs are the same!

We are losing the Culture War. We don’t have enough voters who agree with our positions to win elections and affect change. This hasn’t happened overnight. It’s been going on for decades. We need to address this and make a difference in the schools.IMO
