Obama’s “Common Sense” Gun Control Targeting Social Security Recipients

Once again, Barack Obama believed that the American People were not paying attention. After all, much of what he spoke about “correcting” at his tear-stained, anti-gun press conference was already law. The women of “The View” were predictably apoplectic about automatic weapons–machine guns–and outraged that they have not been banned. This was before Sen. Rand Paul patted their hands and told them not to fear, that such automatic weapons are available to the public only after obtaining a special license from the ATF. Just another straw man propped up by our Socialist in Chief to cause the American People to fear the NRA and oppose the private ownership of firearms.

Most Americans have caught on to the inescapably phony claims of our Liar in Chief and will no longer buy any of his firearm fear-mongering. Again and again Obama promises that he does not want to confiscate America’s guns, all the while creating ways to prevent certain citizens groups from exercising their 2nd Amendment rights.

The latest of these is directed at social security recipients. Bob Owens, Editor of Bearing Arms.com writes, “…the Obama administration is pushing to ban Social Security beneficiaries from owning guns if they lack the mental capacity to manage their own affairs.” The president’s goal is to have the Social Security Administration begin reporting to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), the “…system which is used to prevent gun sales to felons, drug addicts, immigrants in the country illegally and others.”

As Owens explains, “a potentially large group within Social Security are people who, in the language of federal gun laws, are unable to manage their own affairs due to “marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease.”

What about recipients who want to keep their guns and can function? Or, people who just prefer the convenience of others handling their money?

On again, proof that liberals believe they can run our lives better than we can.

The thinking and actions behind this is vicious.

1. You collect Social Security.

2. You own a gun.

3. A faceless bureaucrat decides that you have a mental problem, and/or you can't manage your own affairs.

4. Give up your gun and you get your Social Security back.

If a person cannot manage his own affairs, having a gun or not having one neither helps him nor hinders him in managing his own affairs. But taking his Social Security HURTS the person who cannot manage his own affairs!

I think your list should be more like this:

3. A faceless bureaucrat decides that you have a mental problem, and/or you can’t manage your own affairs. They notify the local PD that youre a risk and have guns.

4. SWAT team executes a no knock to confiscate guns. Social secutiry recipient is shot dead along with their dog.
