The good news for Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida was that he entered Saturday nightâs GOP debate in New Hampshire with the wind at his back, having gotten an unexpected third place performance in the Iowa Caucus. The bad news for Rubio was that he arrived at the debate with a target drawn at his back. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie fired at that target with both barrels, staggering the young presidential candidate. Rubio did not help himself by making the rookie mistake of repeating a line about President Barack Obama at least four times, suggesting that he was preprogrammed and not capable of original thought.

Imagine Marco facing down Putin
On second thought....
in my best Howard Cosell:
“DOWN goes Marco DOWN goes Marco
Rubio = The wilting “no show” thirsty robotic rino.
Ops that's their candidate.
We witnessed a verbal knockout last night.
Trump's still the man for that. Irony for Cruzers is that the one who stepped up and looked most decisive among the wannabees is Christie.
Jeb! will get more votes than RubiObama in NH
Sucker punched and stunned
Fat boi popped bubble boi’s balloon!
Saw the debate, don’t like Rubio but this SOOO overblown. Actually no one repeated themselves more than Christie saying he prosecuted terrorists.
I totally disagree with this.
I thought Rubio was right on the money about Barack Obama knowing what he’s doing. He was right on the money about LIFE.
And Christie, like Kasich, was tiresome in his endless litany of how he does so much in New Jersey.
Yeah, but in the end Christie isn’t going anywhere, so Rubie may skate on this.
Neither Rubio
And Christie was right that Rubio reverts to rehearsed 25 word sound bites. The two positions aren't mutually exclusive. Rubio was not responsive to questions about his absence from the Senate, and about his support for the gang-of-8 bill. Understandable that he wants to bury those issues, but he didn't handle them as well as his opponents in debate did.
Actually, I think he did answer the gang of 8 bill question.
He said it wasn’t any good because it would never get the support of the House and of the People.
He didn’t defend it.
Hillary will spit roast Rubio , Rubio cant handle simple attacks from Christie he will be slaughtered by the Clinton machine
That was the point of the exchange in the debate, that Rubio didn't defend what he stood for. The line of inquiry was "What did you do in the Senate?" and the debate more or less left the impression that he abandoned it, and he abandoned his cause.
He absolutely couldn’t refute Chris Christie’s charge that Rubio has never showed up to work; missing more votes than any senator other than maybe Barrack Hussein Obama. I wish Christie would have drawn a parallel between Rubio and Obama and kept drawing those lines.
Can hardly wait for what El’Rushio has to say on Monday about what his cabana boy Rubio had to say...had to say...had to say...had to say.
