Political capital is of no value unless it is used. Reagan knew how and when to use it. So far Donald Trump has used it effectively. I have no idea how this will play, waiting for post-debate polls to see were it stands.

I think you’re right. He barely won vs. Kerry-—110,000 in OH was what stood between him and one term, and a lot of the public gave him the benefit of the doubt.
I think he had the right concept militarily for what fighting the WoT took, but he didn’t have the stomach to line up Islam and say “You might not all be terrorists, but right now we can’t take that chance.” The whole TSA thing was a horrible blunder, not to mention the attempts to play nice with Dems.
Agreed, but I think it did mainstream him for the general.
The only quality that Trump has is his money and what it will buy him. Just look at how many times he has changed his party registation. What is he? A Democrat or a Republican? Even Trump doesn’t know.

Everytime a TSA pervie feels me up, think of the entire process by which we got this idiotic organization, instead of true profiling and elmination of 90% of the threat.
And, the potential for TSA (which is not just for airports ya know) to expand to our highway system and actuate state border inspection. Not extreme to forecast where it could go, and they have tested the waters with “highway stops” in TN.
Recall that Trump’s standing with conservatives did not suffer as a result of his comments about John McCain. This is because many are familiar with the McCain backstory and with the mixed blessing that he has been to conservatives. Similarly, GWB left much to be desired as president. Trump did not cite most of these GWB shortcomings, and those that he did cite might have been poorly selected or articulated. The point is that Trump, once again, is not afraid to stand up to Establishment Republicans, this time by questioning the idealized, almost mythical image that they have constructed of GWB. It is this courage and aggressiveness that conservatives are responding to in continuing to support Trump.
You can take your party T-shirt and all your party catechism and that and $3 will buy you a cup of Leftist coffee. You actually think your “pure” Republican Party hacks are going to oppose Obama’s next assault on our freedom through the SCOTUS appointment? Really? I mean, REALLY?

A lot of Trump supporters are actually Clintonites.
He doesn’t hide his history, he’s an open book. Very refreshing. He definitely knows he’s a Republican. Think about how much easier it would be for him to run as an independent, or even a democrat. But he wants to run as a Republican, the toughest road of all.
