Have a look at this Hillbilly Gopher Trap. Take a moment before you watch and say a prayer for gophers everywhere. Once you see this Hillbilly 5000 in action, you'll want one. All you need is some electrical tape, some boards, and a shootin' iron.

Add some fishing line, strap 'em all together and you've got a gopher-killing machine. Ingenious, ya'll. See the Hillbilly 5000 in action here.

God bless American ingenuity. All it needs is a game camera, in case you’re not around when those damn little viet cong gophers stick their heads out of the ground. Man, with something like this you could start your own channel on You Tube.

How does having the bait at the butt end of the shotgun do any good ?

Those are ground squirrels not gophers.
Half of YouTube should be on YouFoolTube.

Looks like the “Non-Southern” redneck simply shot the thing by hand, saw no tipwire.

Because the mouse takes the bait and the gun shoots the gopher who just happens to be walking by.

Actually it kills the mouse and the gopher at the same time.

“Now you can kill God’s creatures, and you don’t even have to be there! I hope this mouth-breather’s 3-year old doesn’t like apples... LMAO!!!!”

So, you hate three year olds and desire to kill the God’s creature. Got it. Typical liberal: Loves animals, hates humans.

Fishing wire attached to the board in front of the gun pulls and trips the mousetrap which then pulls the trigger. I guess keeping the right amount of tension on the fishing line is the important part.

Your position is that all true conservatives must support the remote destruction of living creatures just because they are alive...?

At least you're psychotically commited to wanton slaughter, I'll give you that. But the next time you call me a "liberal," try to have a better rationale than that peurile chunk of adolescent snot.

"...So, you hate three year olds..."

Please explain how my hoping his 3-year old doesn't like apples translates into me hating anyone? That is, other than from your tragically twisted propagandist perspective.

Technically, I think that set up is illegal. (Booby trap) Set that rig up to your front door and see what happens.

Nothing new. In WWI Canadian soldiers often rigged up a Ross rifle so when a rat took the bait, the rifle would fire and the bolt would fly out and kill the rat.

Oh, and thanks for re-posting my thread, some knee-jerk tool pulled the original though it broke NO FR rules of posting.

What kind of moron would leave a loaded 12-guage set to go off on a trip-wire laying around their yard?! Must be a Lib'ral with no gun-sense, nor not hardly no sense A-tall.

The board in ‘front’ of the gun is non-moveable. Why show a picture of a gopher trap and leave out the essential component (the fishing wire you speak of) ?

Why wouldn’t the BAIT be on the ‘board in front of the gun’, going by your theory that a fishing wire would be attached to the front of the board. Are gophers attracted to bare 2x4’s instead of food ?

if you’ll go to the site it explains the setup just as I said, basically the bait is near the board and when the board is stepped on it moves enough to put additional tension on the line, which springs the trap - doesn’t take much.

In the video they left an apple out and when the gophers came for the apple - pow
