Stay out of the Bramble Bushes, you can get tangled up in them.
He probably thinks he’s smarter than the GOPe, and that he’ll be able to hornswoggle them when he gets to the convention. You know, a clever plan to outsmart the establishment.
But the way Cruz has been going lately, his plan probably involves Glen Beck stabbing someone and then withholding food from hungry Mormon children.
Trump on the other hand has a bit of a wacky compass changing parties at least 5 times and once supporting partial-birth abortion, gun control, and single payer healthcare, Hillary, Kerry, Carter, Reid, and Pelosi.

No, he can’t. He performed miserably in Florida and Ohio. He is going to be crushed by Trump in most races after Utah.
Ted Cruz needs something like 90% of the remaining delegates to win the nominations. It is so realistically improbable that it’s safe to call it impossible.
Ted Cruz is ONLY there as a spoiler candidate for the GOP to deny Trump the delegates. In a two man race between Trump and Cruz or Trump and Kasich, Trump would crush either one of them. That’s why they’re both staying in, because they are unprincipled GOPe puppets.

And if Trump gets the nomination and Bush endorses him, then what do we do? If Trump does not reject Bush’s and the GOP-E’s endorsement and backing, then I’ll have no option but to realize that Trump has been nothing but the hidden tool of the Bush’s and the GOP-E. That means do I stay home or vote for Hillary?

In more simple terms, he believes he knows how to chase the power and money. By definition, that is “part of the game.” It’s a cut-throat game, to be sure, but he has the benefit of inside perspective (even if he isn’t “an insider,” he’s had powerful political positions), and he is holding the anti-Trump card at the moment, so he’s a presently valuable property.
The same way Cruz supporters would respond if Hillary! endorsed Cruz.
