Mitt Romney revealed as GOP pick by RNC 'DeepThroat'
The News Hub ^ | April 3, 2016 | Bill Singletary

A Watergate-type 'Deep Throat' has come forward to claim that despite all the talk of a contested Republican Convention, the GOP nominee will be former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, a deal, said the shadowy source who has direct knowledge of the situation, was sealed months ago by the Republican National Committee (RNC).

"All this hoopla about Trump splitting the Party if he doesn't get the nomination – even if he gets only a majority of the needed delegates – is hogwash," insisted the well-placed source who claims direct knowledge of talks held between Romney and GOP executives.
.
.
.
"Romney is in this race up to his pearly whites," says David Leone, a Dallas-based political analyst. "His plan was to sit out the drudgery and tumult of the primary season and wait until the early delegate dust settled. Then he’d come out swinging, first as a GOP lackey who was worried about the direction of the Party, and finally as the man in the White Hat to save the Party from itself at the Convention."

Deep Throat 2016 confirmed Leone’s scenario.

"The fix is in. Even if the Trump acolytes don't like the script and threaten to walk, the RNC knows the 'new' Republicans brought in by Trump aren't really Republicans in ideology," said DT '16. "Mitt is all that matters at this point."

"... the RNC knows the 'new' Republicans brought in by Trump aren't really Republicans in ideology,"

I'd like to know what exactly is the Republican Party "ideology." And please Republican Party boosters, don't tell me it's "conservatism." The Republicans are anything but "conservative." To me the Republican's ideology seems to be pleasing the Democrats and avoiding be called "racist" by the American Democrat Party media.

If that’s the case, he can say goodbye to Trump and Cruz voters.

If Trump goes to Cleveland over the 1,237 mark and you install Romney as the candidate, the following will take place.

2. Trump will win the general election.

Har har har. Har.

It would be basically a replay of 1992, though Hillary would likely win by an even larger margin than did her husband because of the greater number of minority voters.

4. The newly empowered party that chooses Trump will overtake the GOP in congressional seats.

To the extent Trump has a platform that isn't just his personality, it isn't enough on which to base a party. So no, this won't happen either.

We dare you.

Right back at ya. Trump certainly has the ability to sink the GOP's Presidential hopes in this election. Beyond that, he's a flash in the pan, and your Trump coalition will fall about faster than a ten dollar suit when he's gone.

Cruz is an insider as he goes back to the Bush campaign. Heidi is part of NAFTA and all kinds of New World Order deals. I firmly believe every politician in both parties fears Trump as they cannot buy him and he will not allow
foreigners to buy votes and this country . Hillary has already helped sell a US uranium mine in WY to Russia. What else is going on “they do not want US TO KNOW.”

I’m one of those who supported Gov. Romney last time. (He was not my candidate in the primaries because I felt his liberalish politics were not what we needed to repair the Obama damage, but I tried to rally everyone to supporting him after his nomination). I will not support him if he somehow gets nominated again. First, he has the same political problems. Second, imho he “threw” the last election. After 4 years of Obama destructive attacks on America, our economy, jobs, morals, defenses, allies, and Biblical faith commitment— and after four years of all of his Pro- Islsmonazi bs propaganda and other daily lies on daily television, even Mark Levin’s “used orange juice tin” would have beaten O. Even O himself made it clear he expected to lose. Romney, however, basically folded up ( after winning the first debate) - like the proverbial deck chair on the Titanic. No effective criticism of O or O’s policies. Romney tossed that election like a good chef tosses a salad. Third, he hasn’t run in the primaries. Millions of us have voted in the primaries. Are our votes to be thrown out ? Our voices unheard? Apparently we don’t matter - and GOP-e is a dictatorship just like the D party and Obama/Hillary. Pernicious. Certainly Not worth supporting.

Agree and maybe he can get the majority of eight. But don’t forget those or 2012 rules and
the 2016 convention will adopt their own. So who knows what changes could happen. Politics
is a little like sausage making so who knows what may get into the mix.

You're probably right about that. The Trump coalition is in many ways like the old Reagan coalition (Reagan democrats, etc.). When Reagan left office, that coalition began to fall apart, and by 1992 it was mostly gone.

Regardless, I'm still backing Trump as the last, best chance to shake thinks up.

This is really sad .. Mitt Romney is such a descent person, but he’s not right for this time in America.

America needs a pair of “hard as nails” people .. in order to make the corrections necessary for AMERICA to survive the horrible situations brought on by the DemocRATS.

I’m upset to see Mitt has bought into the RNC’s scheme.

As long as Trump is at the top of the ticket; Ryan is a better choice policy wise than some, worse than others. Ryan does no damage as VP, not my first choice, but if it locked in Trump as President and unified the opposition to Clinton/Sanders it is an acceptable outcome. I don’t expect Cruz will be on the ticket.

Either that or, after being nominated, Romney decided he really didn't want to be president after all. It's either your explanation or mine, one of the two. There is no other way to explain his pathetic non-campaign in 2012.

I don't blame anyone for backing Trump. I can understand why people are voting for him.

It's funny that you mention Reagan, because it's that comparison where I think Trump falls so short. Reagan had to sell himself, but what he was really selling were ideas. Those ideas were so powerful and so well articulated that he essentially created an entire generation of conservatives that might not otherwise have existed. If you go back and listen to many of his speeches on YouTube, they are still both powerful and topical. My point is that from Reagan we got "Reaganism", and I just don't see anything remotely comparable from Trump. He's got some ideas on a limited set of problems, primarily immigration, that I generally support. But beyond that...I just don't see much "there" there.

But I do understand why people support the guy. There is certainly a sense that our culture is getting away from us, and someone needs to try to stop that train. I just think that battle goes well beyond immigration, because too many of them, and the millennials, are here already. What is needed is a someone who can effectively communicate conservative principles to people who previously had not considered them, and I don't Trump really as a small government conservative at all.

Anyway, if he is the nominee, I hope he stops with the gaffes because he's got to beat Hillary.

Romney would be perfect for the GOP!

A pick like that would put all of cronyism and corruption of the GOP on full display! Talk about giving everyone (even the non political junkies) a clear picture of the party! I would much prefer they pick a retread and consummate insider like Romney as opposed to muddying the waters with someone else.
