Teddy, Truman and Trump

I’ve thought for some time that America might need a president like Theodore Roosevelt or Harry Truman. They were strong larger than life leaders who played a major role in making the United States a strong world power. Donald Trump is the only current candidate who comes close to the personality of those two.

If the conservatives supporting Cruz had any sense had any they would realize Cruz is nothing more than a con artist like most members of Con-gress. They say whatever they think voters want to hear because they don't have to deal with real situations like governors or corporate CEO's. Sarah Palin is supporting him and she knows a bull moose when she sees one.

Roosevelt and Truman served in the military and were different men for different eras.

This comparison is totally ridiculous.

If you want to promote your boy, do so based on his own accomplishments (all of which suit himself) and leave the legacies of the real heroes alone.

So you’re basing your vote only on personality?

And the Bull Moose lost - giving us Wilson.

TR was a progressive and Hillary Clinton has said that she is a big fan of TR and fancies herself to be along those lines. There is agreement between progressives on the left or right that they desire to use the government to manage people’s lives and shove people around like chess pieces because “THEY” (the elites in government and government itself) know what is best. They only disagree on what it is they want the government to do to people. TR is not for me even if one of my great uncles did ride with the Rough Riders and is in a photo with him.

I served in the Marine Corps but I don’t subscribe to the notion that anybody who did not serve in our military is a lesser person than me or to others who did.

That was not my angle - but in the case of these two and based on the time they served as president it certainly played a major role in what they did and how they did it.

To say Trump emulates them in any way without taking into account their history and their time and simply say he's like them for one reason to me is complete stupidity.

And thank you for your service.

Thank you for referencing that article kathsua. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

”… like Theodore Roosevelt or Harry Truman. They were strong larger than life leaders who played a major role in making the United States a strong world power. Donald Trump is the only current candidate who comes close to the personality of those two."

The problem is that Roosevelt, Truman and now Trump, were/are clueless to the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, most of those powers listed in the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I.

Patriots need to understand that one of the few powers that that states have actually delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, to regulate, tax and spend in the name of a domestic issue is to manage the US Mail Service (1.8.7).

In other words, most of the so-called social spending services that the feds have established are based on 10th Amendment-protected state powers and associated state revenues which the corrupt feds have stolen from the states by means of unconstitutional federal taxes.

In fact, a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that Congress is prohibited from appropriating taxes in the name of state power issues, essentially any issue that Congress cannot justify under its Section 8-limited powers.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Remember in November !

So if patriots elect Trump, Cruz, or whatever conservative they elect, they will also need to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support the president, but also surrender to the states state powers and state revenues which the feds have stolen from the states.

In fact, note that such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.

TR was the first Progressive in the White House. A big government imperialist warmonger who was mentally unstable. In 1912 his suicide run gave the WH to Wilson, the most disastrous POTUS of the 20th Century.

TR was the furthest thing from conservative. But, I guess we don't want conservatives. We want “strong leaders”.

Everyone has their positives and negatives. I've tried explaining to people how Trump is not a political animal like all other politicians. He comes from a perspective of a businessman--getting things done efficiently and cost-effectively. But there are people around my circles can't even fathom the notion.

IMHO, Trump sees the nation as a business, and we are not only it's valued workers or employees, but it's co-investors--we all share a vested interest in this nation. In order to make the nation successful (Make America Great Again!), we need to build or rebuild. And Trump knows how to build.

Cruz, on the other hand, is solid on Conservative principles, bar none, but he would, admittedly, have to do some appeasing to his biggest donors.

But compared to Cruz, the fact is, Washington Elites (Democrat and Republican), China, Mexico, Iran, and even George Soros, obviously "fear" (or at least, are very concerned) of a Trump presidency over a Cruz presidency. And yet, many of the Trolls here can't seem to put two and two together as to why--unless they like being screwed by these people--and resort to ad hominem attacks.

Still, I'm hopeful for the both Trump and Cruz. They've been my two picks from the get go.

That’s not guessing Forgotten Amendments. We now have a democracy that wants to elect a strong man or one of two communists that will guarantee the most free stuff.

Here’s hoping that if Trump somehow wins he will at least be a benevolent tyrant.

The apparent alternative being the certain end of what used to be the U.S.

We’re in deep doo doo.
