If the RNC thinks it can win a game of “chicken” against Trump supporters it had better think again

In 2012 the GOPe gave us the architect of Obamacare Mitt Romney a crash dummy we had to hold our nose to vote for. An estimated 3.5 million potential conservative voters stayed home and another 17% of those who did show up actually voted for Obama.

Shortly after the 2012 disaster an analysis of the voting patterns in four states was conducted. The resultant data are facts the GOPe would just as soon we didn’t remember.

It found that with a total number of just 333,908 switches in votes in New Hampshire, Florida, Ohio and Virginia, Romney would have gained 64 Electoral College votes and beaten Barack Obama 270 to 268. But of course that was never going to happen because Romney was a decidedly poor candidate who inspired people to do the previously unthinkable and stay home, even knowing it would reelect Obama.

Romney’s campaign inspired no one.

Voter turnout fell by 9 million and Romney got 1.3 million fewer votes than McCain. Romney got 81,000 fewer votes in Ohio than McCain did in 2008.

Romney lost the most winnable election for president since Ronald Reagan’s 1984 landslide.

This year we have seen the rise of Donald Trump who is the total opposite of Romney. Everywhere Trump goes he generates excitement and as reported by a recent Gallup survey, enthusiasm among Trump’s supporters is at an “extraordinarily high”...

If Trump has such a problem with the rules does it dawn on anyone he should have addressed those issues at the beginning of the process instead of when it looks like things might not work in his favor. Are you people aware that Cruz and Trump are in control of any rule changes prior to the start of the convention?.......that is why Kasich will never get a chance at a floor vote.

Trump currently has an unprecedented 70% unfavorability rating. This includes 50% of conservative/Republican voters and exists among all voting groups broken down by age, ideology, gender, race etc. And you expect major convention support for him?

Intensity of support for Trump is not rational at this particular point and there is nothing about his candidacy to indicate he is willing capable of changing the situation.

I fervently hope the convention finds a candidate that can beat Hillary Clinton because its sure isn’t Donald J. Trump.

Agreed, but no need to make up figures.

Romney got 1.3 million fewer votes than McCain. Romney got 81,000 fewer votes in Ohio than McCain did in 2008.

The reality:
Nationwide: Romney 60,934,407
_ McCain 59,950,323
Romney got roughly 1 million more votes, not 1.3 million fewer. More Obama voters stayed home (or switched), which is why 27 electoral votes switched.

Ohio: Romney 2,661,436
_ McCain 2,677,820
Romney got 16,000 fewer votes. Obama got 113,000 fewer votes

None of this indicates Willard was a great candidate. He wasn't. But there is no need to resort to hyperbole to show the pathetic performance of a GOPe choice.

Get this through your thick skull, the GOP hates Ted Cruz just as much as Donald Trump. Maybe more.

A good gig if you can get it.

We handed it to them in 2010 and 2014. They didn't even have to work for it. Not this time. I won't vote for a single Republican on the down ticket, and never will again.

The past week has made it crystal clear the previous convention rules are meaningless unless adopted by the 2016 convention.

Based on what voters have already said in those states, would Cruz even do as well as Romney? If the conservatives who stayed home ... came out to vote for Cruz in those primaries, which he lost badly, then there is no hope for him in the general.

I am really trying to find the good news in a Cruz candidacy ... the data of cast votes so far in those states doesn't give me a warm fuzzy.

You Trump supporters sure are sure scared of the “established” rules that were in place long before Trump decided to run.

The "establishment" want to change the rules to keep Trump and your boy Cruz from thr nomination!

You Cruz supporters are awfully gullible to think the RNC is going to let your guy be the candidate.
Cruz is an overly ambitious Freshman Senator, with an enormous ego and with messianic delusions fed to him by his father. The GOPe, as evil as they are, are head and shoulders above him in manipulation - they've got 50 years of experience at these things. His arrogance is only matched by his inside-the-beltway naivete, thinking he can take on these GOPe "advisors".

He and Kasich will be responsible for handing the nomination to one of the GOPe's picks, who like in '08 and '12, will lose to the Democrat1. Then the GOPe - who hates Cruz, will seize the opportunity to stab him in the back, blaming him for the Republicans' loss (it's all Kabuki Theater). Win/Win for the GOPe, Lose/Lose for Cruz.

1. The GOPe - a fully-owned subsidiary of the UniParty - wants to lose anyway. This keeps the gravy train rolling for them.

So the Trump unfavorables are fiction, don’t count, can’t be confirmed or he will win despite them..or what?

The MSN and push polling folks have a siren song. Listen to it at your peril.
Who are the 10’s of thousands going to Trump rallies while the other candidates are lucky to get 500? They are the tiger that was once asleep, the American people, and they are fighting mad.

What has the RNC done to put the screws to Trump?

Elected GOP leadership met with rich DEMOCRATS in secret a few weeks ago in Georgia to “stop Trump.”

Speaker of the House gave a formal speech all but calling Trump the Grand Wizard of the KKK

2012 GOP POTUS nominee gave a speech that will live in infamy that smeared Trump in every way imaginable.

Sitting GOP U. S. Senator threatening to support 3rd party over Trump

Want more?

There is plenty.
