In 2012 the GOPe gave us the architect of Obamacare Mitt Romney a crash dummy we had to hold our nose to vote for. An estimated 3.5 million potential conservative voters stayed home and another 17% of those who did show up actually voted for Obama.
Shortly after the 2012 disaster an analysis of the voting patterns in four states was conducted. The resultant data are facts the GOPe would just as soon we didnt remember.
It found that with a total number of just 333,908 switches in votes in New Hampshire, Florida, Ohio and Virginia, Romney would have gained 64 Electoral College votes and beaten Barack Obama 270 to 268. But of course that was never going to happen because Romney was a decidedly poor candidate who inspired people to do the previously unthinkable and stay home, even knowing it would reelect Obama.
Romneys campaign inspired no one.
Voter turnout fell by 9 million and Romney got 1.3 million fewer votes than McCain. Romney got 81,000 fewer votes in Ohio than McCain did in 2008.
Romney lost the most winnable election for president since Ronald Reagans 1984 landslide.
This year we have seen the rise of Donald Trump who is the total opposite of Romney. Everywhere Trump goes he generates excitement and as reported by a recent Gallup survey, enthusiasm among Trumps supporters is at an extraordinarily high...

Screw our candidate at your peril RNC.
You Trump supporters sure are sure scared of the “established” rules that were in place long before Trump decided to run.
Screw our candidate at your peril RNC.
What has the RNC done to put the screws to Trump?
Agree! Like the movie line said “ We are mad as hell and aren’t gonna take it anymore!”
The GOPe’s would be quite happy with Hillary.
Hillary will keep the corrupt DC machine running smoothly.
“Established by the ESTABLISHMENT!”
We’ll see what the RNC does... embrace the people’s choice or commit political suicide.
Established by the ESTABLISHMENT!
Funny i don’t recall anyone forcing Trump to participate.....why is Trump the only one complaining about the rules?
Not scared. Ready to act when the "rules", designed to screw over the will of the people and place the establishment candidate in control. There's a YUGE difference, and you'd do well to understand that.
You can choose to stand with Trump, or stand with Hitlery, and the wrong side of history. The choice really is that simple. Choose wisely, because it WILL determine the future of this Nation.
Yes. The hordes are sick of the oligarchs in the GOPe. We have watched this slow give away of the country since GHW One World Order Bush spilled the beans. Then the Dems, then puppet GWB and Romney and McCain and now Cruz or Ryan?
This is the hill to die on. Soldier on Trumpists. Keep talking. Ignore the propaganda. Keep praying. Vote accordingly. Trump is our only chance. It may be futile. We may be fooled. But our only chance.
The rules are not established.
The rules are decided at each convention by the delegates.
If Trump delegates decide to change the rules to allow an outcome other than Trump you will see riots.
Scared? You should be.
You Cruz supporters are awfully gullible to think the RNC is going to let your guy be the candidate.
Because, unlike you establishment jackboot lickers, Trump is tired of the same old milquetoast, backstabbing establishment way of doing things and is standing up to them.
They’re far more arrogant and obnoxious than I had figured.
They really think they will make all the decisions, undermine a good portion of their voters by selecting someone that nobody voter for during the primaries, and that their voters will just fall in line and do as they’re told.
We owe Trump a great debt of gratitude in one respect: the mask is off. There really is no going back to our old lives after this. So be it.
By now anyone believing the GOP is the conservative party needs to get a bit of reality. It is not. Cruz is probably the most conservative candidate running. Looking at the two others left in the official running, we have Kasick and Trump. Between those two, were you a conservative whom are you most likely to vote for? On the dem side, there are actually dimmocrats who hate Hitlery. Whom do you think they would support in a general election, Trump or Cruz. My guess Trump.
Trump polls better than cruz with independents from what I gather albeit it is hard to find those polls published.
Win or lose you have to go with your best chance to win...TRUMP!
Jeb Bush: Trump is ‘entertaining’, but I will win Republican nomination
Maybe he still will.
“The GOPes would be quite happy with Hillary.”
Yes, they keep getting the money, occasionally make some noise to barely give their base some hope, and they do it all without any actual responsibilities for governing. A good gig if you can get it.
1237. The GOP owes Trump NOTHING! Go with Cruz.
