In 2012 the GOPe gave us the architect of Obamacare Mitt Romney a crash dummy we had to hold our nose to vote for. An estimated 3.5 million potential conservative voters stayed home and another 17% of those who did show up actually voted for Obama.
Shortly after the 2012 disaster an analysis of the voting patterns in four states was conducted. The resultant data are facts the GOPe would just as soon we didnt remember.
It found that with a total number of just 333,908 switches in votes in New Hampshire, Florida, Ohio and Virginia, Romney would have gained 64 Electoral College votes and beaten Barack Obama 270 to 268. But of course that was never going to happen because Romney was a decidedly poor candidate who inspired people to do the previously unthinkable and stay home, even knowing it would reelect Obama.
Romneys campaign inspired no one.
Voter turnout fell by 9 million and Romney got 1.3 million fewer votes than McCain. Romney got 81,000 fewer votes in Ohio than McCain did in 2008.
Romney lost the most winnable election for president since Ronald Reagans 1984 landslide.
This year we have seen the rise of Donald Trump who is the total opposite of Romney. Everywhere Trump goes he generates excitement and as reported by a recent Gallup survey, enthusiasm among Trumps supporters is at an extraordinarily high...

Because he is the only one representing the people...That includes you...
Will you promise to tell me if you and the other Cruz supporters are sock puppets after the election is over. You all sound exactly the same, like a 13 year old girl. I gotta know. Tell me what you'll charge to list all your screen names.
Yes, they are fiction.
You can select other polls that show him with the best fav/unfav ratio of all the Republican candidates running. Donald Trump Favorable Rating Also Back in March 1980 the establishment said the same thing about Ronald Reagan. They said he could never defeat Jimmy Carter. He was too divisive.
Agree.
Oh how I would love to believe that. But this is a big country and large and intense crowds of supporters and curious folks do not mean winning. I am old enough to have seen massive George Wallace rallies and T Roosevelt turned them out big time back in 1912 (which I was not around for). Also keep in mind that the MSN and push polling folks you who say are behind the Trump negatives also report the Trump crowds.
“You can choose to stand with Trump, or stand with Hitlery, and the wrong side of history. The choice really is that simple. Choose wisely, because it WILL determine the future of this Nation. “
Therein lies the rub. Nominating Trump IS Hillary’s ticket to the presidency. Trump has no chance of defeating her or any other dem. None.
If you black the name on Cruz’s resume it reads like an Establishment politicians to a tee.
Now that is a laughable hubcap full of horse poopie. If you really believe that horsecrap, I pity you and your entire family.
That Trump-Reagan comparison is bunk. From the time of that poll that showed Carter leading, the Iranians continued to hold 52 American hostages, the economy tanked, the USSR was ascendent and ... more than any other... Trump is no Reagan... not even close.
I don’t think those rules have been used very often to stop the front runner who won major states (not just caucuses) and brought millions out to vote. Those rules won’t fly this election. We gave the GOP power and they have pretty much stabbed us in the back one last time.
I hope you can stand the smell, but then again, it probably smells like perfume to you.
Thanks for your courteous reply. Actually the MSN do not report the size of Trump’s crowds. They won’t even turn the cameras around to show them. The crowds are reported by the local police, the event people, bloggers with cameras and independent news outlets. The MSN is desperate to convince us that Trump is unpopular; they want to stop him at any cost because he will upset the apple cart.
I would need to check on the George Wallace stats to put that info into perspective. Did he have several rallies/weekly in 30+ states where a small rally was 6K and a large was 15-30K people?
Trump has had far more negative coverage over the past two months than positive. That counts as anti-Trump advertising not pro.
> “What has the RNC done to put the screws to Trump?”
By your asking this question, you reveal yourself as low-information if not an outright ignoramus.
The meeting called recently by Trump with Priebus and the RNC was to discuss why they were allowing Cruz to select delegates in seats won by Trump.
The RNC’s answer was “because we do”.
Cruz will fail to in the fraud used by Ron Paul supporters in 2012 which would have installed delegates in seats won by his opponent Romney, because a filing is in works with the Standing Committee which can’t ignore the current rules and more importantly because the voters and their shunned delegates are going to hand Cruz’ ass to him. Pissed does not begin to describe their view of what Cruz tried to do.
If the RNC attempts to influence the Rules Committee to block Trump, Trump’s supporters, voters and delegates will be so incensed they will not even heed a stay by Trump himself before they tear the RNC bastards from limb to limb.
Note that Priebus is leaving next year. He’s had enough and he’s planning to get the hell out of Dodge. Should tell you something.
After NY Cruz officially becomes the GOPE hack spoiler he is now unofficially. I hope Jim Robinson brings down the zot hammer then.
