Cruz’s elimination and the GOPe’s Colorado disaster give Trump a big boost

Ted Cruz’s pending mathematical elimination and the Colorado Disaster are game changing events that put Donald Trump well on the road to winning the 1237 delegates he will need to win the Republican nomination.

New York’s primary will eliminate Cruz. His magic number to be eliminated is just 49. He’s not even campaigning in New York.

This is game changer number one. When Cruz is not only eliminated but blown away and humiliated in the most delegate rich, Northeastern state, how will the GOPe sell him to the remaining Republican primary states? Clearly they won’t be able to make the case for Cruz elsewhere because he will have proved he can’t win any more states than Romney did. How does Cruz campaign in the remaining states? Who would listen to him?

When voters are given the choice between voting for Trump and voting to have a contested convention in which the GOP establishment will select MITTBUSHJEBDOLEPAULMCCAIN or another proven loser, they will vote for Trump.

The second game changer is the Disaster in Colorado. It makes no difference that Cruz and the Colorado GOPe followed their rules. In politics, perception is reality. In Colorado where the ballot was missing a Trump delegate’s box; where the #NeverTrump people tweeted out “We did it” (then lied about being hacked); and where the head GOPe thug in Colorado said...

The only people referring to Cruz as “the anointed one” are cynical anti-Cruzers.

Agree with much of that. I don’t see any dem candidate respecting Trump’s concerns about fairness.

June 8th, Donald will NOT have the required 1237.

Cruz will attain 1237 on the second ballot at the Convention and Donald can go back to reality TV.

“These antics Cruz is pulling with second ballot delegates is just that, antics. Its not a winning strategy. He’s not winning first ballot delegates and that’s the issue.”

There are 2 bigger issues:

1) Does Cruz seriously believe that he WON’T be unceremoniously dumped once he serves his purpose (i.e. stopping a Trump first-ballot victory), just like Kasich was dumped by Romney after winning Ohio? IMHO, if Cruz - among the most disliked pols in DC (which, FYI, I think is a POSITIVE), thinks that the GOPe will do anything but dump him, then he is delusional.

2) Does Cruz seriously believe that a splintered party can defeat Clinton - even with him leading the ticket? If he believes that, then he is both egotistical AND delusional.

The simple fact is that Clinton will win UNLESS the Republicans unite. That means that Trump and Cruz need to reach some kind of accomodation, and the sooner the better. If they don’t, then a lot of otherwise guaranteed R voters will be staying home, gifting the Presidency to the Witch of Chappaqua.

“The GOPee will nominate Mitt Romney in order to guarantee a win by Hillary.”

They really will, and it should be illegal. They are suborning the electoral process for their own enrichment and perks. It’s fraud on a massive scale, and they should all be in prison.

No candidate is likely to earn 1,237 delegates. So should they all drop out?

My point, exactly.

Trump isn't taking care of business within the Republican Primary process....what is he going to do when he runs up against the "Hildebeast's" campaign or Occupy backed Sanders machine?

Whine that the other old poots are being "unfair" or "mean" to him?

Trump had better get his act together if he is serious about the nomination......

Isn’t that a slogan rather than a platform? A slogan stolen from Ronald Reagan’s 1980 campaign, without the “Let’s” (”Let’s Make Ameria Great Again”).

The theme is so tired too: Kerry :”Let America be America Again”; Romney: “ Restore our Future”, Obama: “Hope and Change” - but all we get is big government Progressives on the Left, big government Progressives on the Right, both meddling in our lives.

Shallow words and promises, then we get jilted after vows and oaths
are taken, aka election day... and then rounds of golf and parties
begin, over and over again because they know they can just pull out any old tired thing next time around and we will fall in love with the pretty words all over again like an abused wife.
