Voting Ted Cruz: Has God Abandoned America?
Thy Black Man ^ | April 15, 2016 | Lloyd Marcus

Posted on 04/15/2016 7:53:32 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

As Ted Cruz-mania skyrockets exciting millions http://bit.ly/1SHWzWW, I still get emails from professed Christians ripping me to shreds for choosing Cruz over Trump. These anti-Cruz Christians dig deep, coming up with reasons so weak not to choose Cruz that they equal saying Ted Cruz took another kid’s candy when he was seven. Then, they fall back on rehashing Cruz’s eligibility. http://bit.ly/22nhGD6

Frankly, anti-Cruz Christians have me scratching my head. Clearly, these Christians are willing to overlook all of Mr Trump’s shortcomings, anti-Christian political positions http://bit.ly/23mAGaI and liberal leanings. http://bit.ly/1LUzCxd

Meanwhile, they “passionately” leave no stone unturned, relentless in their attempts to discredit and disqualify the only presidential candidate with a proven record of faithfully standing up for Godly principles and values. http://bit.ly/1fXRDRf What is up with that?

A highly respected theologian used Romans 1:18-32 as the text for his sermon. The verses speak of people so stubborn and in love with their sin that God turned His back on them; giving them over to reprobate minds.

The theologian asserts that our nation has become so evil that God has turned His back, abandoning America. http://bit.ly/1qFsnFL Unarguably, wickedness is reigning supreme, unchallenged everywhere you look in America. Religious freedom in America is tedcruz-president-2016under assault like never before http://bit.ly/1VISTt4; Christians jailed for not embracing behaviors which God calls abominations.

Romans 1:18-32 not only condemns certain behaviors, it expresses God’s wrath against those who “approve of those who practice them.” I thought, “Whoa, by demanding that believers speak approvingly of what God calls sin, government is mandating that Christians defy God, subjecting themselves to His wrath.” Could you imagine a day would come in America when Christians would be persecuted for not placing government’s authority above God’s? http://bit.ly/1Ztwhxk

God calls Christians to be salt; to make a difference in our world. Sadly, far too many churches are silent regarding sin, afraid of financial loss and federal government retaliation. Some churches tolerate everything in the name of love. http://bit.ly/1Q2kePM “…if the salt loses its saltiness…it is no longer good for anything…” Matthew 5:13.

Then there are Christians who believe we have already lost America‘s culture war; causing them to concede social issues. They ignore their selected presidential candidate praising and supporting Planned Parenthood; exposed as a dead-baby-body-parts-chop-shop for profit; intact heads selling at a premium. http://bit.ly/1nDAqAU These Christians are willing to turn a blind eye to PP’s horrors; put the issue of Americans killing over 3,000 babies per day on the back burner. http://bit.ly/1zFY7YP Yeah, that’s what Jesus would do.

Ted Cruz is the only GOP presidential contender who believes social issues are a priority; vital to who we are as a nation.

Ted Cruz has a long history of defending religious liberty on numerous occasions including defeating atheists who sued to tear down a cross from a veterans’ memorial. http://bit.ly/1SHafRW

Decades of allowing the anti-Christian movement to go unchallenged has many Americans flat-out afraid of having a man of God in the Oval Office. Countless movies and TV shows portray Christians as over-the-top fanatics, haters and whackos.

Ironically, America was founded upon a foundation of Christian principles and values which have made America great and exceptional. http://bit.ly/1MTAZOE Flipping through TV channels confirms how far off-the-rails our nation has fallen folks.

Anti-Christian zealots, typically liberals, love to point out the shortcomings of those professing Christianity. Liberals despise behavioral standards of morality which explains their visceral hatred for Christianity. Liberals absurdly claim that unless you can walk-on-water, you have no right to espouse behavioral standards.

Well, Christianity “ain’t” about being perfect or doing enough good works to outweigh one’s bad. Christianity is about repentance and totally trusting Jesus to get into heaven. Surrendering one’s life to Christ gives them a heart for God. They desire and strive to do the right thing, though they fail repeatedly. “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

Ted Cruz does not profess perfection. The man was wise enough to realize that he is a sinner in need of a savior, Jesus. He surrendered his life to Christ. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Proverbs 9:10

History chronicles that people have suffered severely when ruled by leaders who believe there is no power above theirs. “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.” Proverbs 29:2

Another liberal position has me scratching my head. Islamist believe their faith permits them to kill a disobedient wife and behead homosexuals. Islam advocates violence against non-believers (infidels).

“Fight those who believe not in Allah…” Qur’an 9:29 http://bit.ly/20sxeWI

And yet, liberals passionately defend and protect Muslims while throwing everything including the kitchen sink at Christians; claiming that Christianity is the arch-enemy of women and homosexuals. Christianity says, “…with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3

What is up with liberals’ not seeing the obvious contrast between the religion they hate and the one they demand that Americans respect? Obama’s DOJ vows to jail anyone speaking badly about Islam. http://bit.ly/1mxTG1G

I am voting for Ted Cruz, the only candidate I know will fight the Left’s relentless insidious quest to turn our nation away from God. I pray that the theologian’s scary sermon is wrong; that it is not too late – that God has not abandoned America.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 http://bit.ly/1AIVqp6

of course!!!!

he’s most likely narcissistic. Loves to be the center of attention. Also knows that any publicity is USUALLY good publicity.

He can be petulant, childish, and he’s not spending nearly enough, which I predicted a long time ago, being a fellow NYer and knowing him well.

But he says what he thinks. And his craziness just might turn this whole country around.

I’ve got some screws loose. It is that it is.

But I took a 70 person graphics dept. that was a disaster and turned into an awesome machine.

I only lasted a year plus then craziness cause me to crash but the dept is still strong!!

I treated everyone equal, black/white/Asian.
Because of that, I was so liked that my jokes about separate but equal water fountains went unreported. Along with giving anyone who spoke ill of Reagan the hardest work :)
Because at the same time, I would cover for a black guy who came in drunk one night, but was a good worker who had a bad week at home. And let you leave an hour early if you did incredible work for seven hours.
I said what I believed was wrong and got rid of who I didn’t want and brought on who I did.
I treated the workers well but the customer (investment bankers) were almost always right. (they would be “the people” and my workers would be “govt workers” as comparison)
Brought the dept budget under control by killing the dead weight.
And I accepted some graft, to make things official ;)
####ed off a bunch of people, but the ones that mattered, the customers, were happy.
I am slightly narcissistic, had a six pack under the desk, and acted as minor league bookie for the bankers.
I can see trump turning things around if a nut like me could.

“He’s exposed them as Tories (is that the right spelling) and I will NEVER vote for them again except locally, where they’re very conservative)

wont trust a tea partier, even. How many of those turned out to be duds in the congress.”

Cruz was exposing the Washington Cartel years before Trump decided to play act at being a Conservative.

Dude, I think it is plausible he would be a good president, but I also think it is plausible he is a complete wack job. But not any more or less than Cruz. This is bizarre stuff.

But I am not happy about it. I can’t picture either actually getting anything done doing that will matter, except maybe SC nominations. I doubt that, even. But I can’t loath one less than the other, even though I would vote for both against the dem.

"I am voting for Ted Cruz, the only candidate I know will fight the Left’s relentless insidious quest to turn our nation away from God. "

It is a subtle truth that 'that which you resist, persists.' It's not easy to apply, but it applies here.

This insidious quest coming to an end is central to the longevity of America. However, conservatives have fought it and fought it and fought it. The very fight increases the energy on the other side.

St. Augustine said "whatever is exposed to the light, itself becomes the light."

I caution those who think Cruz will be effective by condemning. As with everything with Cruz ... it looks good on paper. Whether it is effective, or even makes things worse ... doesn't look so good.

If we go with St. Augustine here for a moment, then the candidate who has revealed the evil in the system rather than fought it is more likely to do more good for this Christian cause, and frankly it's all of mankind's cause.

In Cruz, you have a dark warrior, and frankly a large percentage of the nation, Christians included, may not question whether his stances are wrong - may not think his specific stances are worse than Trumps, but whether his mere being against evil (or claiming to be, jury's out for me ... but even if sincere) will actually cause a change - or just provide a solid grip for the bad guys. Physical wars respond to fighting, force. Spiritual enemies not so - they respond to subtler truths, sometimes truths that appear paradoxical, or even reversed - they aren't reversed, and they aren't paradoxical ... they just appear that way because our viewpoint is affected, we have dust on our eyes.

They respond to things that appear to have nothing to do with them.

If America has been getting worse and worse, then there comes a time to ask 'is what you're doing to try to stop it actually making it worse.'

Along those lines, I would recommend considering the candidate not who fights specifically against something, but the one who's been effective at exposing the truth, exposing the evil, and because of that the evil has shrunk a little, receded a little.

Cruz says he fights against the Washington Cartel. But who cares? Trump has actually exposed it. Cruz says he fights immigration. But who cares? Trump singlehandedly changed the conversation and made it acceptable to be for keeping-them-out. Cruz will carpet bomb the terrorists. Trump made it acceptable to to say 'first, let's keep them out'. Trump has changed the country in 6 months, where it counts, for good, more than any politician since Reagan. He's already shifted it, and that can't be undone. He didn't life a finger to do it.

What binds a country into evil is its unspoken, unknowingly accepted lies. You don't 'fight a lie', you expose it. Cruz fights, Trump exposes.

I'll be voting for Donald Trump in November, and I would argue so would St. Augustine - because he would have wanted a more Christian nation in fact, not in argument or in righteousness-against-evil or resistance to evil. Resistance creates persistence. The nation requires sunlight, exposure, and in that light, evil retreats like mold, no more action is necessary.

Cruz? He's a mold scrubber. Have you ever tried to scrub mold off the side of a house? You can't. Hard worker, says a lot against mold! But scrubbing mold does nothing. Yet even sunlight, which doesn't curse the mold, eliminates it merely by it's present. It exposes and removes darkness, which in the case of our country, is lies.

Who, so far, more by his presence rather than his actions and fighting and arguing, has exposed and killed more mold?

I think we know that one. And with all of Cruz's cleverness and machinations and lawyer education ... which he employs to conjure delegates not backed by actual votes of American's ... he operates in the dark. That's where mold grows!

So, me and St. Augustine - we're going with Trump. I don't particularly like him nor dislike him. I have just observed that he has had the same effect on the mold in this church that sunlight has. Cruz? Screaming scrubbing preacher, same mold, probably just pushing it further into the wood.

“Either way, he’ll wreck the GOPe”

That’s true. It might be true if he gets the nomination or not. But holy cow why does thing that is going to wreck the GOPEWHATEVER have to be a complete maniac weirdo? Like that is not even a factor or it’s really so bad with the party that bringing the party down is worth it, no matter if it’s a complete weirdo that does it?

So this doesn’t bother you? Something good might happen or not based on how insane the president will react or not? Dude, why be happy over that? If that is the best case scenario, isn’t that pretty grim?

Yes Cruz is just as wacked out.

Anyone that wants to president in 2016 is going to have something wrong with them.

We may grant the point but then the question becomes, what exactly? Who are these guys? Egomaniacs to a man, I guess, and a woman. Well then, what sort of egomaniac?

I have followed Ted’s career since 2000, and I’ve never, ever heard him say such a thing.

Disgusting.

God abandoning America? Is that even a Christian concept?

Geez. I hope not. I’d like to think that most Americans believe in God and seek His help in ending the corruption and marxist influence that overwhelms us.

Yes, the Trump movement reminds me of the signature line:

"I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore"

Although I find it ironic that the movie was from a leftist perspective, based on the idea that the people were tired of "the system".

Now, we have full blown rebellion against the leftist takeover as instituted by the Obama administration, and as personified by Barack Obama himself. Fittingly, the left is just as confused by it as they imagined, in the movie, that the "establishment" was.

The least flawed stiff.

I don't think in those terms. What kind of a stiff am I ??? I hate to think.

Well ... I did say "egomaniac" didn't I? But is that bad? Almost everybody that we revere in history is an obvious egomaniac.

Hey you are posting on FR when you really don’t have to. You are probably not a stiff, right? At least that’s how I figure it as far as Freepers and the current culture.

But Trump and Cruz are stiffs, in my opinion. Both have done whacked out crap that is inexplicable, and confirms their stiffitude, at least to me. The enthusiasm for either of these stiffs is what I don’t get.
