By 2018, it’ll be old news and obsolete.

Yet another fancy way for the useless taker crowd to loot the government treasury of our money.

400,000 cars ordered.
I read you have to give them a $1,000 deposit to order a car.
That’s $40,000,000 of cash for..........words.
Does anybody else smell something fishy here?

When you’re stuck in a traffic jam in the northeast in winter, how do you choose between staying warm and getting home?

Traffic jams don’t exist in the theoretical, academic leftwing world.

Your math is fishy.
It’s $400,000,000.

Tesla is getting tax reductions, not free cash.
Same idea as your home mortgage interest tax deduction.
If we can’t get tax cuts across the board, let’s get what we can.
And yes, ICE cars need replacement. Electric isn’t perfect, but is a big step in the right direction. I’ve driven an EV for two years; it’s a superior driving experience (easier to power off grid too).

$1000 the first day. To Keep? Re sell at a profit? Or maybe just for fun...less of a gamble than lottery tickets!
Fun to wait and see!

There’s quite a difference between a tax deduction and a tax credit and for people that buy up to $125K cars should not be getting $7500 of the taxpayers money who in many cases are not be able to afford that car themselves.
I’ve nothing against EVs other than taxpayer money going to companies in subsidies and tax credits going to buyers. If they’re able to build them profitably and people want to buy them for whatever reason, that’s fine with me.
That’s the way capitalism is supposed to work.

I want to pull my hair out whenever the anti-carbon crowd crow for electric cars. No one ever asks the simple question, what will they use to generate the electricity? They must realize electricity doesn't just come from a hole in the wall, right? Likely it will be from burning oil, natural gas, or coal. Or here where I live hydro electric, but we only have a tiny amount of excess supply, so how do we get more?

But....you have to burn carbon to produce electricity to put in the EV? So how does it change the equation?

With coal and oil shut down by 0bummer and the EPA, NatGas will have to carry the load, but it won’t. The infrastructure isn’t there and won’t be, for a long time. The Anti-Everything Crowd is delusional. The earth will be around millions of years after we humans are gone, despite their interference in Nature.
