A couple of days ago, we shared with you that the Republican Party of Wisconsin (RPW) shut us out of a booth at their annual convention next month. When one of our team members initially called RPW on April 20th, he spoke to a guy named Matt, who enthusiastically quoted prices for the booth$300 for one day, $400 for the weekend, with two vendor credentials included. Matt said it should be no problem to get us set up. He said hed have someone call us and that we should have things set by the end of the day.
A return call from RPW Finance Director Jimmy Sappissuing from the same RPW number wed originally dialedcame a few hours later. The message? To paraphrase: Sorry, were full up.
It wasnt our first shut-out by Paul Ryan chums
A full three weeks earlier, Ryans friends had already closed ranks to shield the speaker from the competition our campaign now brings.
On April 1st, our campaign manager sent an email with an attached application for a booth at the Conservative Action Conference, which required a $250 sponsorship fee. The April 16th event in Waukesha County was slated to feature a number of Republican officials along with local activists and organizations. The conference draws regional attendance. It made sense for us to attendparticularly since part of Waukesha County is contained in Wisconsins 1st Congressional District.
It took exactly six minutes for conference organizer Bob Dohnal to send us this email reply:
We appreciate it you guys but we do not have programs for booths for people running against our incumbents only in Open primaries. Thnaks [sic]
Its a revealing way of phrasing things, isnt it? Our incumbents.
So much for a marketplace of ideas or a Big Tent in Wisconsin GOP politics. Embrace monopoly!

I hope that traitor Ryan loses
Loses, and has to enroll in a g-d obamacare health insurance plan.
Any chance of that???
Any chance of that???
Any chance of that???
Ryan losing? It would be tough. Lots of Rinos in South Eastern Wisconsin. But on the other hand, Trump did win Rock County. Ryan’s hometown of Janesville is in Rock County.
Yes indeed
Not the way his machine runs things but ya never know
