Is Facebook Suppressing Hunting and Fishing News?
Cal Sportsman ^ | 5/13/2016 | C Cocoles

Recently, there was an interview story at Gizmodo, which they (Gizmodo) interviewed an anonymous, former "news curator" for Facebook.

In the story, the accusation was made that these curators purposely were told to keep more conservative topics such as Mitt Romney or Rand Paul from trending.

So this allegedly happened even with users chatter was causing topics to trend naturally. If this is true, this is going against Facebook’s claims the trending topics are not artificially altered or gamed in any way.

It’s common knowledge that Facebook trending topics are curated by a team of people, not machine learned. Excerpt from Gizmodo: "We take these reports extremely seriously, and have found no evidence that the anonymous allegations are true," Facebook’s VP of Search Tom Stocky posted on the site the other day."

Could it be that human nature tends to sometimes do shady things? In other words, could someone in Facebook be hindering hunting, fishing and shooting topics from trending on the popular social media site? What do you all think? Read the rest of the story here.

Isn’t it Facebook’s right to run their company the way they see fit? You don’t like it, go invent your own social media platform.

Hypocrisy needs to be brought to the fore front.

Kids a being breast fed on Facebook and falsely think its the way of the world.

Facebook needs to be ID’d for what it is.

SHIT

People like us are free to bash Facebook for its practices. And Facebook is free to continue running however it wants.

...conservative topics such as Mitt Romney...

How far left to you have to be to think Romney is conservative? Wow! That's wacky far left.

I’m surprised that liberals would operate in such sneaky fashion. When you are right there’s no need for secrecy. That only enters when you are doing something dishonest. Since liberals are perfect and right at all times (or so they say) then why the secrecy? Why wouldn’t they admit what they are doing. Perhaps beneath all the bluster they know that they are corrupt and dishonest. They are incapable of operating in an overt fashion unless they have massive force at their disposal.

Yep. liberals are pretty brave about siccing the IRS on people. Or a conglomeration of propaganda giants. Not so much when it might be mano a mano.

You are right. I have never ever clicked on Facebook and I never will. I think using Facebook is one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard of. I like my privacy, but that is just me.

Facebook is a private entity. They get to display, or not, whatever they want. If one does not like what Facebook posts/censors, or not posts/censors then one has the opportunity to find some other site that posts or does not censor what one likes.

Other than that, finding fault with Facebook or ‘calling-them-out’ is ok, too. As big as Facebook is, a few complaints are not going to make them change their policies. They are hard, left-wing bigots. ;-)

I tried to send a private message on FBook to a friend.

The link I included was to an company that sells ammo on the net and delivers right to my door by UPS.

FBook PREVENTED the active link from being sent, I had to take off the ‘dot.com’ to make the URL dead and then it went through.

FBuck CENSORS anything related to 2A.

Facebook is a leftist tool. Someone who cares should found a similar site founded upon Principle.

“Didn’t say any dif.”

Please do not be so defensive, sir. I was merely backing up your previous statement. ;-)

I also agree with you about SOCIALISM. I told a co-worker in the late 70s that it was already too late and that socialism could not be stopped.

Brilliant. The closed mind in all its glory!

FYI, I have caught up with countless long-lost friends and family on Facebook that I never would have heard from again. It is a wonderful gift from God.

I also get a lot of conservative and libertarian info there every day. Sort of like FR was a few years ago.

“FBuck CENSORS anything related to 2A.”

I can only repeat. Facebook can censor anything which they want to censor. Just as FR can censor, suspend or zot anyone they want or do not want. While that may anger some it does not change the 1st Amendment. Besides, if Big Brother could to something about it then they would if they would want to do anything but we all know that Big Brother is opposed to citizens owning guns/ammo. Until the current gov’t is overthrown, in the voting booth or otherwise, there is not much that a few angry posts is going to change. Sad, but true.

I think facebook has a shelf life. As soon as another easily navigated social app comes along it will be history.
