Three Reasons Why the Never Trump Movement is Failing
Canada Free Press ^ | 05/18/16 | Tim Dunkin

Posted on 05/18/2016 7:02:10 AM PDT by Sean_Anthony

With these facts in view, it really is no surprise that #NeverTrump is fizzling out like a soggy bottle rocket

A few weeks ago, all the political talk was about the rise of the #NeverTrump movement, a collection of “conservative thought leaders” in the media, think tanks, lobbying circles, and other organs of the “conservative” wing of the DC establishment. Angry that they had let the GOP nomination process get away from them so that the actual people had a say this time around, they vented their anger all over the radio and television and in webzines and other online sources all across the internet. While the Never Trumpers themselves are a rather disparate mixture of Neo-Cons, rabidly libertarian Free Traitors and amnesty supporters, and hardshell social conservatives (especially of the Mormon and Dominionist variety), they all have one thing in common—no way, no how, no matter what else happens are they ever going to vote for Donald Trump, even to stop Hillary Clinton from grasping the reins of power.

I think what the inside the beltway “conservative thought leaders” are going to get an education on is that they aren’t leading conservatives anymore. They now find themselves to the left of the conservative base.

Bingo. If not Trump, then who? Only viable competition is Hillary or Bernie, who are far worse (zero large-organization & big-money administration experience).

Listen, for years these party bosses and “conservative leaders” kept telling the base that ONLY A CENTRIST can win in the general election. So they shuffle one loser after another onto us and expect us to hold our noses and get in line.

Now that voters chose one (can any one say unexpectedly?), then they turned around and said he's “NOT CONSERVATIVE ENOUGH” !!! Isn't that a bit much? Inconsistency? Hypocrite?

Especially coming from Romney (!), the gall of this vain man knows no bounds.

The reason it’s failing is simple. These clowns are wonks. They would never actually do anything further than chatter and have secret meetings. None of them would actually DO anything. They try to get others to do it. Note that Mark Cuban didn’t take the bait. He may bluster about how he could beat Trump, but Trump would expose him as the fraud he is. None of these billionaires are going to take on Trump. Kristol and his ilk are just running their mouths like they always do.

Trump was the best of the bunch.

A sad commentary on our condition.

The NEVERTRUMP movement was stupid from the beginning.. the guy beat 16 competitors handily through the primaries.. but now, now, you are going to be able to put someone else that people will support?

Just stupid.... Wake up to the reality GOPe.

Lastly, the Never Trump movement is failing because it never really was a “movement” to begin with. It simply has had no genuine popular support. Instead, Never Trump, from its very beginning, was the brainchild of Katie Packer, a former Mitt Romney adviser who started the Our Principles Super PAC back in January of this year, specifically to oppose Trump. Never Trump has always been an establishment organ, using establishment money, and relying on establishment media clout to try to undermine the choice made by the plurality of rank-and-file Republican and independent voters. It has never really had any popular following. Indeed, its efforts are completely geared towards overturning the results of the popular choice.

This bears repeating.

Trump was the ONLY candidate who was willing to openly say “I WILL PUT AMERICA FIRST”

Not one other candidate on the right or left was willing to say that.... what does that tell you about the state of the political class?

That should be the absolute minimum to even consider being a politician, yet today, few if any do.

“they all have one thing in common—no way, no how, no matter what else happens are they ever going to vote for Donald Trump, even to stop Hillary Clinton from grasping the reins of power.”

And if Crooked Hillary wins they will own it.

Because while normal non Trump people may not be in love with Trump they don't have the hatred that the party bosses have for him.

Not my first choice but better then most of the others that were running.

“But, isn’t the Trump movement just a “NeverHillary” movement? I mean, we could do much better than the candidate we have put against Hillary.”

Trump has been drawing crowds in the tens of thousands to his rallies. People don’t show up in those numbers to political events unless they’re proactively FOR the candidate.

If anything, the Trump phenomenon is more of a #NeverAnti-America movement. The American people are dying for a true American leader to take charge and beat back the forces that have been systematically destroying this country.

Trump is the only person with the requisite skills, experience, and natural talents, to rise to the occasion. None of his opponents (on either side) came close to matching his qualifications.

“Hillary is just a symbol of ideological insanity...”

I agree. I think the TX Gov summarized the problem well - ‘JFK wanted to put a man on the moon, and Obama wants to put one in the ladies restroom’! (Not an exact quote, using memory).

The demoncrat party is in the hands of those who want to raise the minimum wage to the point no one will ever find work, put women in the men’s room and men in the women’s room, who are embarrassed by America and Freedom, who hate God & Guns and who think Apple Pie is racist.

I dislike Donald Trump. There was no way I was going to vote for him - in the primaries. But once it is Donald vs Hillary:

One HATES America.

One LOVES America.

Contrary to what National Review Online says - and I was banned for pointing it out in the comments - it really IS “A” or “B”. There is no “C”! It is a multiple choice question with only 2 possible answers. There is no room for essays, and no complaining that you would like to have a “C” or “D” choice!

For the NeverTrump fools, it comes down to this: Do you want a President of the USA who hates America, hates God, hates Freedom, hates Guns, hates individual choice and frankly who hates white people? Or will you vote for someone who loves America and wants America to be the best?

Seems very simple to me! And I’ve got a hunch it will prove pretty simple at the ballot box in November.
