Very true. They’ve spent over seven years consolidating all power in the executive branch and will try to keep it by any means necessary. We may be in for a long ‘hot’ summer. Democrat (July 25th-28th) and Republican (July 18-21) Conventions will be telling as to how far they’re willing to go to incite civil unrest as a prelude to martial law. Their paid thugs and useful idiots are already ramping up violence at Trump rallies. Keep your eyes and ears open folks.
What was happening at polling places in 2008 will look like child’s play.

It's kinda funny, but in times past when trust in GovCo was higher, the president telling people to have supplies and a survival plan in hand would be accepted and appreciated as just good, common sense.

Being prepared, even for the small stuff, is the best insurance you can have. If you rely on other people for your food, water, shelter, etc., then you have too much faith in the wrong places, bro. Six months worth of stored food and a reliable water source (oh, and guns) equals pure peace of mind.
Personally, I think the gummint knows something that they aren’t telling us. (No shit, huh?) There are plenty of scary theories out there, from Yellowstone blowing its top to Iran lobbing an EMP strike at us to Planet X swinging through the inner solar system. No matter what ... something wicked this way comes. You can almost smell it in the air.

Everything Obama says is not necessarily sinister. Some stuff just falls into the routine requirements of the Office.
The reality is, FEMA really does want you to have your own plans and preps for disasters, because FEMA is nearly broke. Every family that fails to prepare, and subsequently must be rescued by teams of first responders, is using up valuable taxpayer resources, and furthermore endangering the lives of the rescuers.
Prepping for hard times —whether a societal collapse, natural disaster, or job loss—is something wise people should do, regardless whether the government tells you to, or not.
Some here mention planting a garden. Very wise. Gardeners know too much rain, or not enough, can result in the destruction of a year’s crop. That’s why canning and dehydration are just as important as plowing and planting.

How do you know this to be true? Manufacturers say they only last about 3 years, hence the stamped expiration dates.
