A lot of people don’t know what high frequency trading really is on the bottom line:
it basically means that you make a tiny profit on very very many trades which have absolutely no risk at all. I would go into more detail but I’m on my phone now and the basic mechanism is that you front load the trades of other unseen people.
if you’re a high frequency trading outfit, basically you’re a scumbag.
HFTs are basically pick-pockets or robbers.

Portugal once had a global trading empire just like Spain. One of Portugal's important bases was Goa in India. I once worked with someone born in Goa, who was a Muslim, and whose last name was Moreira. That's a Portuguese name. Fernando might be more often a Spanish name, but it can also be a Portuguese name.
So this guy's name may not be as odd as it appears.
