Four days after being promoted to manager of Donald Trumps presidential campaign, Kellyanne Conway hit the Sunday morning talk-show circuit to defend both the candidate and her previous criticisms of him including his decision not to release tax returns before the election.
During the Republican primary, Conway who was then working for a super-PAC supporting Texas Sen. Ted Cruz charged that Trump had built his businesses on the backs of little guys and said his tax returns should be transparent.
Now that I am on the inside, I know something I didnt know then, which is he is under audit and what that means, Conway said on CNNs State of the Union. He has said clearly, and I back him up completely, that when the audit is completed hell release the tax returns.
Ive learned since being on the inside that this audit is a serious matter, she said on ABCs This Week With George Stephanopoulos.

OF COURSE the Obama IRS would be auditing Trump. AS would the state of New York.
Who is surprised?
I believe he called the governor of Connecticut “stupid” last week.
Trump has said repeatedly that he has been audited by the IRS for the last 10-15 years.
Maybe that wasn’t an insult...It could possibly be just the truth...
Trump doesn’t want to release his records because they are complicated and there is a lot that can be distorted and sensationalized by the corrupt media. The MSM audience wouldn’t know enough to see the distortions.
It is a fair strategy.
It’s not due to an audit disallowing it.
Well he can't release final numbers until the audit is over.
Ive learned since being on the inside that this audit is a serious matter, she said on ABCs This Week With George Stephanopoulos.
All IRS audits are serious.
The question is... will the IRS spill the beans through its allegiance to the current administration?
Hillary needs to release her emails... actually the US State Department’s emails.... and the transcripts of her speeches to all Wall Street firms...
And... The new administration needs to look at the UBS payoff to Clinton and the 1,000’s of his friends which were never audited for their foreign Swiss bank accounts. The penalty is 50% of the highest outstanding balance in the foreign account per year, thus the penalties can be greater than the account balance and come back on their personal U.S. assets.
The question here is: Why is the Clinton Foundation not under full scale audit? by congress if the IRS won’t do it?
When Obama first went against police in what resulted in the “Beer Summit” I pulled the non-profit tax return available to the public and it very clearly should have been audited. The errors were very obvious and could have resulted in fraud charges. Was it ever audited?.. I doubt it.
“I believe he called the governor of Connecticut stupid last week.”
Like calling water “wet.”
Is there a constitutional requirement to the candidate releasing their tax returns ? Oh, wait, taxes are unconstitutional so it is a moot point.
It’s all so corrupt and the Republicans have had control of Congress the last 4 years and nothing! No checks and balances. The founding fathers are spinning in their graves. These spineless Republicans have made their contribution in taking this country down.
Good News: She worked to elect Cruz. She brings some of the Cruz fan base.
Bad News: She picked a candidate who lost.
If there was something wrong with his taxes surely we would learn about it through previous year taxes as he’s been audited for 15 years.
This so-called “media” will just latch on and harp on every
jot & tittle of TRUMP’S tax return; then paint him as a
“criminal” from here on in to the election. TRUMP’S taxes
aren’t a biggie to me. I’ll bet he’s given a lot more to
charity than either of the Clintons; whose favorite charity
is . . THE CLINTONS!
It’s not a “persoanl insult” if it’s the truth.
As if you really think any of those other Republicans wouldn’t be demonized as much! Trump speaks the truth.
Same puppeteers on both sides of the political establishment... thus the Never Trumpers ... Bush & friends
Or did he call him garbage.? Either one is fine.
Actually, the governor of Connecticut called Mike Pence incredibly stupid and a bigot first. So at most, he was spoken to in terms he freely uses against the Trump campaign.
This is like Cruz dramatically defending his wife from Trump attacks, and forgetting the day before he released the Melania ad with her modeling photos.
LOL!
No one could claim that calling the governor of Connecticut stupid is a personal insult.
It’s merely a statement of fact.
Unfortunately, they're not, thanks to the Progressive movement's gift of the 16th Amendment in 1913.
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
