Clinton’s ‘Alt-Right’ speech signals shift as DNC orders media to find proof of the ‘Trump-effect’

Trump wants her to come out and fight because that’s when she becomes vulnerable. Now, get ready for the counter-punch

With her ‘alt-right’ conspiracy speech in Reno, Hillary Clinton has served notice she’s ditching her ‘run-out-the-clock’ strategy’ in favor of smearing Donald Trump and his core of ‘radical’ followers as dark, dangerous bigots. The question is why the change in tactics. Just this week, the Politico quoted Clinton insiders as saying “they can ride out” the latest email and Clinton Foundation controversy by running out the clock until the election. They see the poll numbers and have decided it’s over. All she has to do is stay under the radar as much as possible, make no mistakes, and let her media PR department destroy Trump. So what happened?

In her Reno speech Clinton said Trump is “taking hate groups mainstream and helping a radical fringe take over the Republican Party.” Hello Breitbart, Drudge, Alex Jones etc. Liberal reporters will take her attack on ‘fringe’ alternative conservative media as their cue to produce stories that validate Clinton’s warnings about the ‘Trump effect’.

The light is on Clinton and media and they are on the run like cockroaches looking for a way out what a riot.
Even those on the left don’t want to talk about the crimes she has committed.

It’s incredibly stupid. But stupidity has worked on the American voter in the past...the Clintons used it a lot in the 90s. They put some stupid conspiracy theory out there and their media blows air into it to make it seem hallway plausible and their idiot leftist sycophants turn it into a theme.

The interesting part here - with this - is it is falling flat...creating far more ridicule than anything else. The boomerang effect is now whacking her. I put that down to three things: they’ve not tried this before in the era of social media, which vettes everything much more thoroughly and light years faster then the media can get coordinated to blow air into a new accusation; Hillary is not Bill. Hillary is a terrible politician and figure-head. There is nothing remotely likable about her, or remotely effective about her presentations; and Trump is not a pansy-Republican, he won’t slink away and let them attack him for fear people won’t like him when he fights back. He crushes these assaults within minutes of them being made. The counterpunch team is on top of them immediately, heaping ridicule on top of Hillary. This is what leftist Democrats always did to Republicans in the past.

"Never interrupt your enemy while he is committing a blunder." This may rank as one of the biggest ones in recent history. What Hillary has termed alt-right is, in fact, an amorphous and rather noisy set of Internet wags who now have been built into some sort of iconic super-villain, a status they couldn't have achieved on their own. (Maybe "we" is a better word.)

What it tells me is that she's scared spitless of the WikiLeaks revelations to come and is trying to containerize them. That turns out to be a pretty big container, the inhabitants of which are now goaded into the sort of focus that is the last thing she and her team of professional evidence cover-ups need. "Don't poke the bear" is usually good advice. She poked the bear.

I’m of the same view. What is this? Who is this? Instructional is how the sycophant media just takes up the new term and runs with it....having little or no capactiy to originate any new idea themselves and even more cowed by their inability to use same without approval from their masters.

Is this HRC’s vast right wing conspiracy? Is it a subterranean (ha!) network of teenagers working their moms basements? Basements, get it?

If they are talking about racist hate groups a la KKK, what, does the KKK have 200 members nowadays? Hillary’s connection to the KKK and its adherents is 100 times more defined than anything Trump has ever done. Byrd, $20K in recent donations. This is dog bone stuff. What about the Muslim hate groups who have slaughtered dozens of Americans with MANY more to come domestically? Nidal Hassan, the Orlando guy...HRC only wants to let in 500,000 of them.

You really wish these things could be articulated within the typical American’s 11 second attention span. That has always been the problem.

Ultimately, the connection must be made between the VRWC Hillary has always complained about and the freaking FBI who has found her to be lying and compromising America’s security and vital interest for her own enrichment for decades.

"A continuing sign of her corruption both overt and clandestine."

It's going to be an exciting and fun-filled 75 days.

It'll be an election with the character of 1802 in the Internet era.

Strap in.

And the ad buys have barely started.

Even I could think up a dozen very effective ads against Clinton. And $500mil worth of those will change some votes.

I had never heard of the “alt-right” until the other day

It is a real term, not made up by Hillary. I would describe them as the Millenial generation of conservatives. One of their greatest strengths, and biggest differences with older conservatives, is that they simply don't care what names progressives call them. A traditional conservative will curl up into a ball when a progressive calls them a racist, and engage in a futile battle to prove the negative that they are not. An Alt-right person, when called a racist, will just laugh at them and fight back.

Trump successfully smoked her out.

It’s obvious Trump play for the Black American vote is starting to pay off and alarmed Hillary enough to force her to abandon the hide and wait it out strategy.

Yup. Hitlery is hemorrhaging Plantation Vote, and her campaign (including social/MSM) is now panicking.

Trump's energy and conviction convinced blacks to THINK and abandon the Plantation, and now it's become viral. Blacks may not share their vote with family and friends but WILL be pulling that lever FOR Trump.

We are witnessing an unprecedented and dramatic revolt. Not only from Blacks, but from traditional Democrats, AND even Republicans abandoning their own GOP Plantation.

It is too late for The Hag to put this genie back in the bottle. Trump's message of REAL promise, respect, and hope for blacks resonated. LOUDLY:

"Vote for ME and at least your your vote will be taken seriously and REAL hope restored!!"

Donald Trump's 'Braveheart' Speech on the political battlefield:

"You've listened to the same old empty promises and rhetoric from the same old Democrats you've been voting for forever. You've bled for them in the voting booths and in the street. For what??

"Hillary and the Democrat Party are still taking your voted for granted. After past elections, how have they helped you? Do you feel any safer? Have more hope for finding a decent job? Have you a real chance to be self-sufficient?? For yourself, for your children??

"As you continue to bleed figuratively and literally, your Black Mayors don't help you. Not even President BO helped you. Eight years later of lip-service and broken promises, it's even harder to find a decent job and MORE dangerous to venture outside your own home. What 'Hope & Change'? This time around, what do you have to lose?

"Dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to vote for Donald Trump and tell the Democrats that they may have controlled your lives in the past, but they'll never take away your final chance for the economic and neighborhood freedom you've been promised but never had??

True.

As Hillary has been launching TV ad salvos at Trump, he has more than held his own -- even gaining defecting black and Dem voters -- while not even launching what will undoubtedly be an aggressive and devastating ad campaign.

And if we consider the effect that$100m-$500m of Trump ads will have -- an anticipated efficiency quotient of at least 3-1 over The Hag's lame ads -- she'll really be hemorrhaging votes.

Alt-Right is a REAL THING. It's been around for years, it wasn't invented by liberals, wasn't invented by Hillary Clinton, and probably has more overlap with FReepers than a lot of other more "mainstream" conservative sub-threads. The biggest departures from what most FReepers believe is:
  1. Alt-Right believes that there are differences in races and the kind of world created in The West (Christendom) is unique to the culture of White Europeans. Other cultures don't understand the principles of ordered liberty and limited government, and will actively work to destroy them in any political system they infiltrate
  2. There is no point in believing in the Constitution, because the original meaning of the Constitution has been destroyed and can never be reinstated until you understand item #1 and work to undo the destructive influences of progressives, racialists, and all of their enablers.
  3. Alt-Right doesn't believe Israel's national interests are be the same as ours, and doesn't believe there is such a thing as Judeo-Christian values -- to the extent that such a thing exists, they're just Christian values. Period.

Here is a full rundown at Vox Day's blog. Vox is one of the most identifiable of the Alt-Rightists, and I guess would be considered an intellectual light of the movement. https://voxday.blogspot.com/2016/08/what-alt-right-is.html

I can also think of two Alt-Right bestsellers on Amazon:

SJWs Always Lie: Taking Down the Thought Police

Cuckservative: How "Conservatives" Betrayed America

["Dangerous Faggot" Milo Yiannopoulos is often identified with the Alt-Right, but he is not part of the movement, just sympathetic to it.]

Those "departures" you cited are very significant, and explain the fact tat most FReepers had never even heard of the term.

Such gross oversimplifications as what these "departures" indicate are a perfect illustration of why I have no use for them.

Any group that thinks "there is no point in believing in the Constitution" is, quite frankly, profoundly misguided, IMHO.

Classical liberals/conservatives/libertarians have a pretty good idea of what it means to be American, to be protected equally under the law, and to judge people not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

So, presuming these "departures" you've cited are accurate, such foolish thinking belongs right where it is: on the extremist fringe.

Thus, alt-right does not share the ideals of the FR community, coincidental overlaps notwithstanding.

I'm with Donald Trump on this. We don't want the votes of supremacists, anti-Semites, or fools who dismiss the American Constitution and who don't believe in Unalienable rights for all people.

If there are "differences in races", they have no relevance to how any individual should be treated under the Law.

Vote Trump!

Such gross oversimplifications as what these "departures" indicate are a perfect illustration of why I have no use for them.

I think you have a reading problem. I've presented what they are, and don't claim to be sympathetic to them, but whatever else they may be, they aren't "oversimplified," just summarized.

Any group that thinks "there is no point in believing in the Constitution" is, quite frankly, profoundly misguided, IMHO.

Then you need to take that up with the Federal Judges, who believe -- as Holmes so eloquently and nefariously articulated -- "The Constitution is nothing except what the Federal Judges say it is."

In fact it's worse than that, because we've now had decades of decisions by the Federal Judiciary, including one in the last year, that say that the plain and exact wording of the Fourteenth Amendment, which reaffirms equality under law, means THE OPPOSITE of equality under law.

If there are "differences in races", they have no relevance to how any individual should be treated under the Law.

Nice straw man, and who claims they should? Except for the Federal Courts which you're implicitly defending.

Tell me... what use should we have for a Constitution which asserts a right of homosexuals to "marry?" A right, defended on the basis of "equality under law" by The Majority Opinion, by the way, and which up until ten years ago no sane person believed was implicit there. Certainly the Founders -- who regarded homosexual sodomy as a serious crime -- did not.

Tell me what use we should have for a Constitution which permits AND EVEN ENSHRINES racial set-asides, preferences and quotas? Who are the racists here, again?

Co-opted conservatives believe we should defend a "Constitution" that none of the Founders would remotely recognize. Jefferson himself predicted this would happen, and on this issue at least, the Alt-Rightists are correct. To have a living, evolving Constitution of the kind that Anthony Kennedy (and all of the other progressives believe in) is to have NO CONSTITUTION at all.

So spare me your humble opinion on that point.

The belief that Israel's national interests are not ours is shared by a great many FReepers and Paleo's. It isn't a belief that I share. Frankly, I doubt we have a reliable ally anywhere outside of the Anglosphere that is even remotely reliable except for Israel. So failing to help and protect them is not only stupid, it is counter to our own national interests. Nevertheless, having the belief that Israel shapes too much of our policy does not constitute "anti-Semitism." To claim it does is preposterous virtue-signaling of exactly the kind that has brought about the term "cuckservative."

I'm not Alt-Right, but frankly, I do agree with their criticism that "conservatives" are more energetic in their denunciations of "heretics" than they are in the pursuit of restoring Constitutional order and destroying progressivism. Your knee-jerk post is demonstrative of that kind of thinking, and it needs to stop.

Just change the pronunciation. Any time someone uses the term “alt-right,” interrupt them with “You mean the alright?”

“Alt-right” becomes “alright.”

Fred, thanks for the definitive source of the buzz-phrase by Hitlery's legion of doom: "alt-right."

I did check out your link to Vox Popoli and its bullet point break down of how "alt-right" is defined.

There is some confusion here; As claimed, *is* alt-right *really* an ALTERNATIVE strain of conservatism in the USA? Is it "in reality has devolved towards progressivism"? How so? I didn't see much in which to disagree (does that make me a bad "conservative"?)

Who elected Russel Kirk the Moses of THE "10 Conservative Principles"? Give me ten Freepers to define "conservatism" and we'll find TEN different criteria. REAL "conservatism" and freedom is very libertarian -- though with several caveats with respect to boundaries. Those boundaries can be found...within the *intent* of The Founders version of the Constitution and Bill of Right; as well as within the Ten Commandments and scripture.

I consider this invocation out of the blue by Hillary of "alt-right" and her political tacticians to be nothing but a cheap distraction and excuse for the political punditry class to avoid addressing Hillary's ever mushrooming baggage. "Alt-Right = "shiny-keys"/road-block. And shot at "divide and conquer" from within.

Look how the term now being scrutinized and time dedicated -- even here. Let's remove the logs from the road and keep on moving our armor back on the road to Berlin.
