49ers’ Colin Kaepernick: I’m not standing for the anthem of a country that oppresses blacks
Canada Free Press ^ | Dan Calabrese

The nation's fiscal house is collapsing, but we're talking about this crap

I don’t think he deserves the attention that a column about him brings, but Colin Kaepernick’s stunt this past weekend of refusing to stand for the national anthem in a preseason game did generate a couple of thoughts I wanted to share. One concerns the increasingly commonplace (and thus, increasingly meaningless) use of gestures like this by athletes to showboat about issues they really don’t understand. The other concerns the growing inclination of normal Americans to proceed into histrionics about people not standing, not saluting, not putting their hands on their hearts, whatever.

49ers’ Colin Kaepernick: I’m not standing for the anthem of a country that oppresses blacks

A proper response:
America: We're not standing for a football player that puts his personal issues ahead of the national anthem.

I’ve seen some comments chide him about his huge shoe collection, all made by pennies an hour Asian child labor.

Perfect irony while he makes $19M a year to ride the pine.

The country does not oppress blacks. Some individuals have at various times oppressed blacks. The country as a collective entity has not oppressed blacks. Some individuals at various times have denied whites their civil rights. At no time has any white ever claimed that the country oppresses whites.

I ask this guy to go to the place that illustrates what happens when you have the perfect combination: black and muslim: Somalia.

Hopefully this d-bag will start this Thursday night and the San Diego Chargers defensive line and line backers have a break out game against him...If Bosa is playing maybe he can get double digit sacks...maybe some of the boys on 49er O line might let a couple Charger linemen “slip past” on accident of course. Maybe a couple of real humbling sacks will clear his head of all this BS!!! Just say’n. Well, at least that is how football used to work.

” I’m not standing for the anthem of a country that oppresses blacks...”, says the black who makes $11M to throw around a football.

Oppression of blacks by whites?

Well he is half-white ... so why doesn’t he punch himself in the face and call it a day?

I think Kaep knows the end is near, so like Michael Sam, he wants to position himself as a “martyr.”

"I think Kaep knows the end is near, so like Michael Sam, he wants to position himself as a “martyr.”"

You might be on to something. Any move against him now will, of course, be some combination of anti-black discrimination plus Islamophobia. The half black, Muslim in the White House can also opine and stir up more conflict and division in the country, too.

...."Kaepernick has the right to do this. But Free Speech rights cuts both ways: we the fans have the right to shun him for doing this".... The jerk sounds like he wants to be a "special" Martyr ...Can't make headlines on the field anymore so he's been pumping up the Twitter pages. Bottom line..he's thrown down his failing career as the red line inviting the public to cross...and they are doing just that.

????????

This asshat needs been reacquainted with whom it was who SOLD his ancestors into slavery. Frankly I am at my whits end of listening to these AH’s. Unfortunately there is not much that can be done to this head case now as he is sitting on a ton of green which he would have NEVER acquired in any other pursuit.

The fans should exercise their First Amendment rights by standing and singing the National Anthem as loudly as possible each and every time CK is sent in to take a snap.

It seems to me that this douchebag is cut from the same cloth as Kanye West. Both are human stains; attention parasites.
